Specing into proto scanners since they are actually working now any tips for a scanning scout? |

You can use them for a broader exploratory sweep, pick people up over a wide area. It detects on the fly rather than at the end of the scan, where you're pointed as it finishes is merely what determines who gets flagged post-scan.
This means you can essentially make a 270-¦ degree sweep, useful when trying to pick out would-be infiltrators or making absolutely sure a point is clear.
The downtime while recovering from a sprint is an opportunity you might as well use for a quick scan, no reason why not. |

Obviously, scan through walls rather than when you're exposed.
Other than that, I really don't know what to say- poplo already said the big ones.
Also 2 things about the messages-
People are informed when they're scanned. They almost always ignore it, but be ready for someone with brain cells.
Read the message- if it says "some error rating" that means that someone with a low profile is in the area you scanned. You can usually expect a shotgun scout. |

With the proto scanners it's practically impossible to miss a scan - You can detect everything except a max skills scout with three profile dampeners. |

First time I played in uprising, I was being repaired, thought the red meant I was being scanned, so I ran to cover. |
