How's the laser for ammo consumption? I played with it a little a while back and I seemed to run out of ammo much more than I do with AR etc, probably because engagement ranges are relatively long.

IIRC the main nerfs to tac AR were to fire rate and clip size. It has only 56% of the fire rate and DPS and a mere 40% of the damage-per-clip of the ScR, its direct equivalent. So no, I don't think we'll be seeing many tac AR-wielding Gal assaults.

Damage mods, it's simple maths really. Mods give you a much bigger % increase to damage than shields do to HP, since you have so much HP to start with. The only thing that's stupid about the prefit on the Hellmar heavy is the shield extender.
