By all the info that's come out about the Ion Pistol, i'm tempted to guess that it works similarly to the shotgun. Otherwise the sharpshooter skill and the low damage make no sense.

Great! I'm just going to retrain all my current suits plus the new Gallente Sentinel and Commando. I only didn't completely like the look of the Gal Heavy. I liked more one from the early designs.

So, what's changing? I'll be able to be pretty hard to countersnipe with my Gallente Sentinel if i fit a sniper rifle, since it has a decent resistance to railgun weapons such as ... the sniper rifle.
