Anyone asking for more DMG output the laser doesn't need it if you have 1-2 complex DMG mods and LR profincey level five yur getting a 25-35% increase on damage at 25% your doing about 21 hp a shot at 35% about 22-23 the proto LR only did 20 hp back in chrome soo if you had 1 DMG mod in chrome it was 22hp so we are now doing about the same DMG in chrome and LAST thing we want is another LR nerf the better scope and tracking speed is all we've needed my laser brothers went 27-0 with the elm-7 yesterday:) |

I feel like the zoom needs to be better, it looks to me the SCR,ASCR,TAC,AR and the LR all have the same zoom distance, but the LR,TAR and SCR are suspose to be long range weapons.

Lasers don't need more damage, better ADS tracking and a scope is all that is needed.
1.4 will be the birth of many many lasers are OP again threads I'm sure. |

the DMG on LR is optimal IMO having one complex DMG mod and proficiency lv 5 is enough to burn anyone again IMO and i'm using LR from beginning of uprising, yes straight post nerf.
change to scope from iron sight is justified as a mid to long range weapon but little zoom would be even better.
the only thing that is mandatory , again IMO, for this weapon is rotation speed while aiming, for medium range mostly. this is a light weapon a rifle and it feels like heavy cannon "lazor" while aiming.
would be nice to get back, as an effect on enemy, blinding light blurring the screen in the color of laser beam while you hit enemy close to head, as a normal light based weapon would do beside the burn effect ;)
overall good stuff for LR operators ! |

I love reading these, considering that early in the beta there were ONLY red-dot scopes and CCP changed things to include Iron-Sights because log of CoD&MAG players were demanding them.
Honestly, It'd be nice if we got to the point that Scope was an option (with different scopes offering different play style choices in terms of zoom and style of scope, leaving aside any sort of damage or to-hit modifier). |

EDIT: This is an edit in response to the follow up posts in the rest of this thread. The Reason as I Recall the removal of the scope went like this.
CCP didn't have ranges on the AR's & we also had 2 SKILLS called SHARPSHOOTER that extended the ranges (currently that 1 skill now controls dispersion or kick I don't remember right now which one it covers), so with the scope we had prior to its removal, a BREACH variant could have ALMOST the same range as the Tacticals. Now instead of being ready with the new range system CCP decided to gimp the problem by forcing us to use the Iron Sights after taking away the ORIGINAL Sharpshooter skills (note plural) and thus reduce our long range game; this resulted in the tacticals quickly becoming FOTM and with the nerf to them and the amount of ammo in their clip the problem for them was "solved".
The reason why some of us AR users can DEAL with the not having a reflex dot or a acog and is because for 9 months our AR's had a nice scope and we could remember how and from where we could get the same type of kills. Then about 2 -3 months ago ccp worked the ranges into the mix.
The IRON Sights is a P.O.S. and now that LR with its longer range is making a resurgence why can AR's not get at least the same ability to track an enemy or get more than a lucky headshot in.
Answer: Because ARs would be OP with a scope.
Until they actually have recoil in ADS, an AR with a scope would be the ultimate weapon. Remember when the full auto ARs had sniper sights back in Replication and before? Give that to ARs today and they would be OP, or at least give ARs the same recoil as Assault Scrambler Rifles before you do.
Or, to make sure everything is even, allow weapons sights to be swapped on weapons.
The "red dot" (or is it yellow) sight will help the Laser Rifle significantly, let's see how well the LR performs after the update. It may not even need a damage increase if all goes well. |

But what "laser snipers" are you referring to? Typically the laser rifle already had a similar function. |

AR with scopes would not be op, keep telling yourself that, you can't even shoot from the table top to the northern pyramid like structures in line harvest, why must my aiming being limited while everyone and everything else gets made better, the iron sight is a joke and so is the discussion about why they don't have a scope or sight. I stand by my assertion that without the original sharpshooter skills range increase you guys are trying to defend a LASER Rifles chance to become FOTM. |

that looks realy nice I like the idea of sights on guns but I like the iron sights on lazer rifle could we mabey get a choice as to werther or not we can remove or attatch gun sight on the spot like crisis...... or atleast be able to do it in dropsuit customization example is battlefield 3 I like using the semi auto sniper sks with iron sight and I like it since it reminds me of the ak7 which is not automatic but semi |

Stop adding/removing/changing whether a weapon has a scope, iron sight or reflex sight. CCP, Finish adding all the weapons and drop-suits in FIRST.Then after that's done consider making a patch where you can add, as a module assigned to the weapon slot, a racial optic identical to the racial weapon. Weapon is standard with iron-sight with the option of a Racial variant of red dot, Acog and sniper rifle optic to your weapon for a small price. Seriously this isn't hard to figure out then everyones happy, now how about hiring more developers... 100 more?

Just to clarify things for a few of you who seem confused.
First image: 17m range, target has shields, 35% efficiency Third image: 17m range, target shields at 0, 23% efficiency
Lasers deal more damage to shields than armour, so when a target still has shields, it makes sense that the weapon would have a better efficiency rating.
First image: Range 17m, not aiming down sights Second image: Range 43m, ADS
In spite of literally more than double the range, the target looks barely any further away in the second image. If you're saying that's not zooming in, you're not paying attention. The third image isn't the same size as the first 2, so it doesn't lend itself as well to comparison, but from the apparent differences in scale based on range, I'd guess approximately 1.5x zoom on the sight.
Last, but definitely not least, LASER is an acronym for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation". No matter how insane your local variant of English may be, there is no English-speaking nation in existence where "Ztimulated" is a word, so there is no reason to call the weapon a "Lazer Rifle". Please refrain from doing so.
