Every match is annoying me too much, i'm not that good but putting me v people with much better gear and SP every game is too much, im a sore loser being honest here, i can take a defeat if the game has been close but a total annihilation when i've been able to do nothing other than drop uplinks nano's revive and rep and and constantly getting negative K/D ratio's is far too frustrating for me so I refuse to play a game that annoys me as much as this does so i'm taking a long break until matchmaking is fixed, I play games for enjoyment and i get none from this game right now, it's a shame because I liked the concept but the execution has been terrible so I think i'll just focus on playing EVE ...
I haven't insulted anyone or blamed any particular class or type of person so please don;t see this as a QQ rage quit thread, I simply am not enjoying the game and it has very little to offer new players, I want to be able to compete in the matches I play and saying go be a sniper go do this go do that .. defeats the object of a game, why should I have to go down the route of a specific class to keep me out of the battle because of the sheer difference in SP between your opponents ? I absolutely hate being in a part of a squad and being the weak link, I don;t like to feel that i'm basically being carried and am a liability to the squad, Being weak at the start of a game is fine when there is some kind of balance so that your always able to compete in matches, being weak at the start of the game when your v ppl who've been here for over a year isn't fine .. It's the equivalent of putting a 5yr old child into a boxing ring with Klitschko and telling the kid to .. get good ..
In EVE new players don't get a frigate and then go straight into battles v Titans .. yet on Dust that seems to be the route you've gone down .. why ? You do realise there is a reason barely any MMO games (I cant actually think of any but i'm sure someone somewhere knows of at least 1) throw new players into the lions den straight away ? It puts people off wanting to play the game and stay long enough to get hooked.
A large proportion of the experienced players on this game don't see anything wrong with the current system and bemoan the size of the player base and say ' any seperation is bad for the game' that's bollox, the reason the player base is so small is because the current system drives new players away and seeing as there are alot of ppl in high lvl gears with alot of SP now i seriously doubt their would be a problem with seperating games between players based on SP all it would mean is the new players would play v the new players and the vets would play v the vets (obviously I see the issue here ... the ppl who complain about this type of syystem are the ones scared to lose ISK by fighting ppl at a similair lvl to them, all those who gloat about their KD ratios are against this kind of system because without new players for them to kill easily their KD/s will go down as they will be against ppl on an equal footing to them) The best players of this game see no issue with this kind of system, it puts the game back to the lvl where skill and dropsuit fitting matters rather than the SP is God system currently in place.
Every idea i've ever had re Matchmaking has been shotdown with the same complaints by the same ppl who seem to think the game is fine as it is ... The game isn;t fine as it is and the player base confirms that, the last paragraph was directly aimed at the ppl who will undoubtedly QQ the idea .... I never claimed to be good at the game, I don't want to be given an easy ride to 10m SP and given prot gear ... I merely want balanced matches between balanced sets of players

Seriously though. Matchmaking cannot come soon enough. I just hope CCP manages to make this " least dependance on individual players" a thing. Because, while solving the prime cause of posts like the OP, much of dusts flavour would be lost if it doesn't allow some variation in gear, skills et al within each side.
Having to pick a target you can take on and running away when outmatched should remain a relevant factor. What needs to be dealt with is the kind of lege artis protostomping we have now. |

I think you have some serious problems if you think what I wrote was a 5 page essay and I explained why I thought matchmaking was bad because merely saying .. This is bad .. is pathetic
The difference between a QQ and having a discussion about a problem is explaining WHY it's a problem and I only said i'm going to have a break til it's fixed, just saying i'm having a break game is bad is never going to get the reasons to why i'm having a break resolved are they ?

Yeah you explained it was a problem. EVERYONE knows that. You basically reiterated old information through 5 paragraphs.

The problem is CCP brought across eve style mechanics. This works in eve because you can put 200 cheap ships against 1 and win.
You can't do this in a 16v 16 game. Hence why we see one side dominating as the others give up and snipe to save isk and grind the sp
Matchmaking won't fix the fact that this is not an MMO but a 16v16 lobby shooter |

There you go thats my full explanation of a solution I have for this problem as well as a new game mode idea however the reason I didn;t repost that here is because it's full of information and I can;t add anything else to it as it's at the character limit
2.This whole post is a summary post and the last paragraph of any statement you make should always be a summary of your general point so if you just want to get the general gist of whats being said you read the last paragraph and if you want a bit more info you read all the way through it
3.Some people don;t see matchmaking as a problem, just because 1 person knows it's a problem doesn;t mean EVERYONE knows it's a problem and i could quite easily link you to various posts where ppl are clearly arguing that it ISN'T a problem

I found your problem. You are from eve and are bad at dust. I go positive all the time when I use my 2 month old alts. When you don't have the sp or are just bad at dust you least have to play smarter. Sadly, this is beyond most players abilities. So many times I see nubs run solo in the middle of the road against 5 guys.
Hell on this toon I have scout and flaylock which is stupid bad combo and I still pull 30 kill games and never go negative.
I will agree, however, that matching does need improvement.
Moral of the story? You probably wont do well even when matchmaking improves |

I feel the same way as you but the other side. I love mowing people down but I get no satisfaction knowing I just went 16-2 against new players in ambush. To fix this we need matches based on your current WP and SP. If you did this it would solve a lot of problems. 0-5 Million SP or 300K WP one room, 5-10 Million or 600k, second, and all others the third. But to spice it up there should be a room for all players WP and SP will not matter this will be known as the thunder dome(80's reference).

Even me, with 12+ million SP and wearing proto suit with std/adv and proto modules, gets stomped beyond all recognition if I try to play solo and end up against a stacked team (happens more often than it doesn't).
Only way for me to get a fair fight is if I stack teams with a 6 man squad as well, but a lot of the time we stomp people who arent in squads and every once in a while get a fair fight with another full squad.
No-squad options is an absolute must right now. And even though it will still put players into matches with those in proto gear, the difference that proto gear makes isn't that much when they don't have a squad to back them up. They might still tear things up, but all hope isn't lost for the match if they are alone on the other team. Plus no-squad options also means that when in a squad, the chances of fighting other squads is great. Which not only is much more balanced, but also what players want to see. |

To be honest I don't care about how butt hurt you are with the match making. I started playing in January, during beta. I spent the last... 5 months or so getting my A** kicked EVERY SINGLE MATCH. I endured, just like the rest of my friends on this game. We all got our A**** kicked every single match while we learned to play, while we earned our SP, while other players who were playing for months and months before we joined had way more SP than us. This is just how it is. Do not use the anaology that in EVE it is not the same way. You have zero experience in EVE. In EVE an freshly created character with less than a million SP will join an epic fleet battle with his rifter and warp scrambler and die 25 times and still come out on top. It's the same as in DUST.
There are two things you need to do to improve your game play. The first is to accept that you are behind. Once you've accepted it, then you can move on. the second thing you need to do is find a group of players, i.e., a corporation, and squad with them, so you are not playing solo, or with other noobs. You need to play with other people that can balance your team out.
In D.A.R.K L.E.G.I.O.N we require everyone to run in squads. Our players, yes even 2 week old players, will squad with guys who are 5-6 months old. This is to balance them out and help them enjoy their game play. They may still go negative because they haven't learned what the heck is going on yet but they aren't going through it alone.
Join a group, play with veteran players and stop crying about the hard times. We all went through it, even the veterans. |

A masterful argument, because you had to drag your balls across a cheesegrater, every new player should as well. That's gonna help with getting those new players in game amirite?
Sadly I suspect there are more than a few HTFUppers in CCP central headquarters who think that EVE attitudes seamlessly transfer to a lobby shooter. So I guess at least you can probably say that the Devs support your mindset. |

While I get that Eve/Dust is about joining a corp, I also want to option to jump into an Instant battle, join some random people (maybe even get to know some new folks) kill some time and people without having to sequel it.
Almost as if this was a game, and the primary goal was to promote quick and easy fun gameplay. Imagine that. |

You have to go through the lumps to figure the game out. You have to join a corp that can help you get on track. You can't skill into 4 or 5 different areas and expect to be serviceable anytime soon. You don't have to get beat down for months. You can make it bearable if doing it in a squad of experienced players.
I wish it were possible to manage large amounts of members in a better system. I wish we could take on more newbros and get them on track, but we can't.
It would be so much better for this game if half these tiny little corps just joined a corp like Dust Uni, Subbdreddit, PRO, etc to get in an active corp where they can get some experience.
I get bored rolling through pub matches, but I only have one speed. Once my clone hits the ground I'm trying to **** stuff up. I'm sorry if I end up hurting some feelings in the process. Swing by "sand castles" our public channel and try to squad up. We aren't recruiting new players, but you'll get some help if you are willing to listen. |
