I spent the last... 5 months or so getting my A** kicked EVERY SINGLE MATCH. I endured, just like the rest of my friends on this game. We all got our A**** kicked every single match while we learned to play, while we earned our SP, while other players who were playing for months and months before we joined had way more SP than us. This is just how it is. Do not use the anaology that in EVE it is not the same way. You have zero experience in EVE. In EVE an freshly created character with less than a million SP will join an epic fleet battle with his rifter and warp scrambler and die 25 times and still come out on top. It's the same as in DUST.
There are two things you need to do to improve your game play. The first is to accept that you are behind. Once you've accepted it, then you can move on. the second thing you need to do is find a group of players, i.e., a corporation, and squad with them, so you are not playing solo, or with other noobs. You need to play with other people that can balance your team out.
In D.A.R.K L.E.G.I.O.N we require everyone to run in squads. Our players, yes even 2 week old players, will squad with guys who are 5-6 months old. This is to balance them out and help them enjoy their game play. They may still go negative because they haven't learned what the heck is going on yet but they aren't going through it alone.
Join a group, play with veteran players and stop crying about the hard times. We all went through it, even the veterans. A masterful argument, because you had to drag your balls across a cheesegrater, every new player should as well. That's gonna help with getting those new players in game amirite? Sadly I suspect there are more than a few HTFUppers in CCP central headquarters who think that EVE attitudes seamlessly transfer to a lobby shooter. So I guess at least you can probably say that the Devs support your mindset.
You have to go through the lumps to figure the game out. You have to join a corp that can help you get on track. You can't skill into 4 or 5 different areas and expect to be serviceable anytime soon. You don't have to get beat down for months. You can make it bearable if doing it in a squad of experienced players.
I wish it were possible to manage large amounts of members in a better system. I wish we could take on more newbros and get them on track, but we can't.
It would be so much better for this game if half these tiny little corps just joined a corp like Dust Uni, Subbdreddit, PRO, etc to get in an active corp where they can get some experience.
I get bored rolling through pub matches, but I only have one speed. Once my clone hits the ground I'm trying to **** stuff up. I'm sorry if I end up hurting some feelings in the process. Swing by "sand castles" our public channel and try to squad up. We aren't recruiting new players, but you'll get some help if you are willing to listen. |

Almost as if this was a game, and the primary goal was to promote quick and easy fun gameplay. Imagine that. Truer words were never spoken. It takes me less than 5 minutes to get a squad and enjoy the game with competent people. Sometimes we can sway a battle even with the worst blueberries imaginable.
Join a real corp. Get on voice. It will help |
