Getting confused I'm seeing +1s with "I love these RAWR!" & -1s with "These are OP crutch weapon but apparently I want them in game still."
+1 (I want these removed) for me. I think a nice balance is a grenade with a low fuse time (like 2 secs) that does lower dmg. This still makes cooking skill based and goes away from panic throw immediately switch weapons and murder you. |

+1 even though I don't get killed by them often I don't think they should be in game. Like another poster said they should just add a grenade with a shorter fuse. |

+1 Remove these no skill nades! If you cant cook regular locus grenades properly to perform almost the same action you deserve to suck. This weapon completely takes skill and fun out of a fight. If someone can cook a locus grenade and nail me with it then I can respect that but these ones you don't have to cook and be cautious with are noob tube weapons for the unskilled. |

Keep them in, keep the damage high, lower the blast radius, make them come in militia, standard, and advanced variants.
Then you have high blast radius decent damage grenades that need to be cooked or can just be tossed into large clusters of enemies, and high damage low blast radius grenades.
Both of them require skill, and both are better at different situations.

I say +1 to keep until flaylock is nerfed then remove it, the reason being is I am an armor logistics suit and the only way for me to counter a flaylock is with fused locus grenades. |

Reduce the damage on them to 300 or 250 and only let players hold 2. It will force them to use other weapons for their kills without completely removing them from the game. They don't need to be removed, but they definitely need to do significantly less damage than a standard grenade. |

Not that I love Contact Grenades. They're skill-less panic buttons.
But then game has Mass Drivers and Flaylocks in it, and they're functionally identitical.
I think Contact Grenades should be nerfed in damage/explosion radius to the point that they're balanced against Locus 'nades. -1 also.
Just to put things in context, i flat-out refuse to use contact grenades. I like to earn what i take. Aaaaand....the hypocrisy confession: i do use the flaylock, but that's because i'm a sentimental Minmatar loyalist - been a big smg user up to now.
I like Distubingly Bored's take on this, it touches all the bases. In terms of damage, i want to see contact grenades unable to one-shot a STD suit with an average tank - maybe doing 50% of the total EHP of said STD suit.
This way contact 'nades would still be useful as finishers and still be worth carrying, but other 'nades like flux or the M1 Locus would be worth consideration for their flexibility.
But I also like:
Haron Vathek wrote:+1 I'd say remove them if they do as much damage as now. Should the damage be lowered significantly or a contact grenade be given another utility (like say... slow for example) instead of damage I would consider keeping it in the game.

I'd like to see gameplay enriched by these grenades, something like contact grenades that do half the damage of the basic contact 'nades but have added functionality that makes sense for a contact weapon. Some ideas:
VNGs(Viral Nanite Grenades) 25% STD suit EHP damage, and viral nanites that temporarily suppress or reverse the shieild or armor repping of target suit.
TNGs(Tagging Nanite Grenades) 25% STD suit EHP damage, and TACNET nanites that temporarily light up the suit for the TACNET.
MyNGs(Myofibril Nanite Grenades) 25% STD suit EHP damage, and synthetic myofibril nanites that temporarily work against the suit servomotors to slow the user down.
OENGs(Opto-Electronic Nanite Grenades) 25% STD suit EHP damage, and Opto-Electronic nanites that seek out and temporarily overlay optical sensors, messing with the Image projected on the target's HUD.
I'm sure peeps will have some very cool ideas about what they'd like to see for functionality here.
But the punchline is that, sure, keep contact genades - but only if they enhance gameplay, as opposed to the current situation where they are detracting from it. |

I wouldn't mind keeping them if they did a lot less damage and/or did something else like you stated above.
