+1 they make the skill of properly cooking grenades useless and gives people an I win button when they start losing a gunfight. Plus the fact that we already went through this in closed beta we didn't want them then and they were removed if you want to keep them in the merc pack then fine but completely remove them from the market.

This game sucks enough without giving people a way to out to for being sucky - it's also a heavy anti-heavy weapon since it's impact radius is small and heavies are slow chances at landing a hit on us is way higher then other classes. Have you seen CB's with fast guys just chuckin' these things left and right? Bad players are starting to think they're good with these as there reasons why. |

+1 I'd say remove them if they do as much damage as now. Should the damage be lowered significantly or a contact grenade be given another utility (like say... slow for example) instead of damage I would consider keeping it in the game.

Not that I love Contact Grenades. They're skill-less panic buttons.
But then game has Mass Drivers and Flaylocks in it, and they're functionally identitical.
I think Contact Grenades should be nerfed in damage/explosion radius to the point that they're balanced against Locus 'nades. |

For those confused: +1 means you want to remove them -1 means you want them to stay in the game
In my opinion, they should be removed. If CCP made an actual ISK equivalent of the Fused Locus (instead of the much worse Level 5 ISK contact grenade) that had the same damage, blast radius, and PG/CPU cost, everyone would see how overpowered these are because no one would even bother to use their guns anymore. It's like when every grenade in the game had a 1.5 second fuse timer without cooking--they changed that pretty quickly because that's all anyone used.
It's an "I win" button for any time someone is losing a 1v1 fight and can't be bothered to actually use skill. Right now Fused Locus grenades the only item in the game I believe to be pay-to-win. |

I'd keep them because they make infantry grenades worth something besides their splash is pretty terrible I threw one right at a heavy and he was engulfed in the grenades explosion yet took no damage. Plus before 1.2 I had killed my self with them many times and in 1.2 I still kill my self every once in a while. There not that op there just really good against people who haven't stacked shield and armor like scouts. Scouts keep trynna be frontline and it obviously isn't working. If you know some one has contact grenades get at a distance and pick him off. |

If they stay I predict most of the hardcore playerbase leaves...and can you blame them?
Had a good player I respect use them against me today in CQC at 3m. I'm sorry but that cant be what CCP intended. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT.
Hate to say it, but when people are using grenades in CQC you've FAILED as a game designer. |
