We say we want content - then cry when we get it - why is that?
Simple - Take a look at assaults and logi - pretty cool they have all there variants and if they upgrade light weapons it'll effect all there suits equally.
Now look at commando - what heavy skills will effect it? It may as well be a glorified assault. It's not a heavy friendly suit - we're going to have to dump SP into new weapons to get - which means more grinding. Assault users will probably find more of a home with it then we will - all we'll have over them is the basic Heavy Frame SP already spent - but they'll have a few Light Weapons already which equates to them saving more SP over-all if they went AR/MD
Will it have a smaller hitbox even in the slightest? If not it's range confrontation is going to be frustrating - every bullet that lands jukes the weapon slightly and makes return fire a challenge. I ran AR heavy since June of last year till December of last year - and finally decided it wasn't possible for an AR heavy to stay competitive - so what has been done to change this? 2 light weapon slots? The only hope the commando will have in competitive play will be equipping a MD for the spams then AR to finish it off - but it'll still be slow - so what role on the battlefield will it enjoy? Defense support?
I think if CCP is to continue releasing suits like this it should come with an explanation of how they see it being used - because as it stands the commando suit just seems like a pub stomp suit.

I think the commando is an interesting idea but i have a bad feeling these guys will be HAV hunters, and HAV's have enough of those right? anyway i thank CCP for the new content even if it imbalances the game a bit |

Seems to me like its use is biased towards AV... having swarms + AR or something like that.
However... if you're speccing into a heavy suit for AV.. why wouldn't you just use the forge gun? The almighty god of AV. |

It has the health and speed of the decked out logi ck.0 but trades 2 useless equipment slots for a 2nd light weapon. Why it is not a scout variant is beyond me. |

or good for AV... 2 swarm launchers... or 1 swarm + 1 lolplasma cannon... or 1 swarm + AR...
Some people might find a use for it, and it might help others pass the time or break the monotony, but for someone like me, it's useless.
I already have a basic medium class set up for AR / SR use. I never understood how a heavy suit with an AR was a good idea. Biggest hitbox + slowest movement. It'll be perfect for camping and extremely defensive playstyles though.
Either way, it's not for me. |

According to CCPs video... the proto variant has 1 equip, 2 highs, and 1 low... and maybe a grenade slot I don't remember. |

I think they are just trying to manage their hope and expectations. QQ now and they won't be disappointed if it is bad and with a bit of luck they will be surprised if it exceeds expectations. |

Note: This is ofc - just my opinion. They're giving the assault scrubs exactly what they want: no risk, all reward. Now, they'll be able to carry at least CBR7 swarms and a GEK at the same time. That's what we're complaining about. |

No, lasers are broken, and shotguns need speed.
How about ScR and AR...? Maybe that one's a winner?
Or, perhaps we'll see some (a la Dust Fiend) dual AR users with different variants. He's looking forward to Breach/Burst, if memory serves.
How about assault scram for shields, and MD for armor? That might be a decent fit. Once they fix the MD. = /
Yeah, I'm having trouble seeing the fits/roles this thing can provide.
Maybe, one day far off, the Minmatar version will be decent. If it has the right slot configs, it might not crawl around. Wonder what the racial ability will be?

It would make much more sense if it was a medium frame suit. Trading almost all of your modules for a second light weapon... even then its still a bad suit imho.
module slots are everything in this game... designing a proto suit with only 3 slots is... well... laughable. |

My issue with the Commando release is that they put out a new suit before finishing the racial variants of the heavy and scout suits. It's like they have suit ADD or something. |
