It all comes down to how much maneuversbility it has in relation to its hp. |

Wow.
That better not make it to the live version....
Grenades are the only part of infantry play that I actually enjoy.... |

Trade the equipment slot for a grenade slot. Heavies shouldn't have equipment, and not having a grenade is a wonderful way to really gimp a suit, nevermind the ****** layout in that video.
Here's hoping something changes, or I'm staying basic heavy for forever since both heavy variants will be a bad joke at best |

There was even talk of reducing their mobility at one point....
I swear the Devs are trying to give me an aneurism |

I'm still waiting to see the stats for myself, but I'm already at the end of my hope rope for DUST as is.... |

Shadowswipe wrote:That is a small quote from a big picture. That is part of a 3 to 4 man squad. Only one would have a hive if at all, and it would be a top of the line one cause that is his job to carry that equipment slot. Smaller weapons... lol, you make it sound like they are sidearms. They get access to two very strong light weapons. Protoswarms can tear up HAV, LAV, and Dropships. AR is the standard use weapon of the game and shouldn't' be considered a weak weapon.
Yea, if it's going to be slower, with less HP....heavies are already laughably bad with swarm launchers. No mobility = no LoS on a moving target. Forge guns you can either hold your charge behind cover or use an assault, which only requires you to get your timing right and peek out of cover long enough to shoot.
I put up great numbers with my AR, but that's because ARs are still laughably easy to use. It doesn't change the fact that if you slow down the heavy and reduce its HP buffer it won't live long enough to make use of its versatility.
Honestly, from what little we've seen, this is starting to look like a very half baked specialization indeed. Here's hoping it's actually worthwhile.
Oh, and I may actually rage quit this game if Commando has no grenades.... |

You're just looking for **** to ***** about now. Actually it's experienced players looking at the hints we've been given and are left here scratching our heads. |

And then promptly return when they add the grenadier. Which might be a light frame. You could then run around with Flux nades and AV nade and solo proto tanks that can't track even your shadow. Enjoy your time away from Dust when 1.2 hits. Why would I promptly return?
I can't afford boosters, and there is no system in place to allow me to try out different playstyles. I either love what I spec into for the rest of my DUST career, or I set the game down and do something else. |

Shadowswipe wrote:You will come back because Dust will offer more things than any other FPS out there currently and in the medium future time scale. They have roadmap plans to add VR like areas where you could try out weapons. It just may not be any time soon. So, like I said, enjoy your time away from Dust. We will welcome you back whenever you return. I've been here over a year, I'm well aware of their "roadmap"
What I'm saying is that....
You know what.
**** it. I don't care.

EnglishSnake wrote:Commando suit is going to wreck vehicles from places where you need snipers to get rid of them This is so dumb that it actually hurts.
Anyone can do that. Having 2 swarm launchers on one person and a hive isn't a whole lot different than 1 swarm launcher with a hive.
Besides, can I get a poll
Heavies. How many of you have spec'd into Swarm Launchers or Plasma Cannons. How many of you intend to? |

EnglishSnake wrote:It has an equipment slot you dumbass and its cheap as chips to lvl up the SL anyways And as far as we know has less speed than a heavy, and less health. Militia sniper rifle? Jeez I hate these forums some days.
Commando, the new scary AV. It can't waddle out to you, but god damn if you drive next to him you're gonna be hurting when he's shooting the exact same things at you that anyone else does |

Link for speed confirmation?
Having the same or less speed as a normal heavy will kill this specialization before it's even patched in. |

Spectral Clone wrote:If it will have less HP than a sentinel suit, this has to move faster.... There is a tradeoff/balance between speed and tank OF COURSE. And that's the critical thing. Aside from likely losing a grenade slot, which already kills the entire specialization for me, personally. If you don't increase speed on heavies, but reduce their HP, they will be more of a laughing stock than they already are.
As is, I only tend to die to heavies if I get caught by an HMG heavy in CQC with my pants down, forge gunned from above, ran over by a heavy in an LAV, or just plain bad luck (oh, and being outgunned occasionally by a fellow AR heavy) Getting headshots on heavies is laughably easy, and they already go down very very quickly.
Nevermind the fact they probably didn't have the foresight to increase their turn speed.
