This game has major issues. We can talk about it. relax. no one is going to take your game away from you.
And Sony isn't the problem. That's just inventing excuses. Who are you even talking to? If that sony remark is a response to my post. Did you understand what i just wrote? Do you have justification for saying it's just an "excuse"? Sony shouldn't even be brought into the argument since they recently gave Dust 514 the finger with PS2 coming to PS4... |

Um, I'm talking to you. I guess you figured it out and blew a gasket? lolz.
I did understand what you just wrote. But I seriously doubt you do.
Sony is not responsible for the development problems with dust. To say it is, is to make an excuse on CCPs part.
My justification is that mostly, that's all conjecture, at best, on your part. You do not know that as fact. In addition, many developers in the world have worked with sony, for better or good, to release their games, DLC, patches, and what have you for years. They have an established protocol to release such things. Sony outlined it mostly unchanged quite awhile ago. Apple and microsoft do the same checks that sony does. It is all very predictable, and has no bearing whatsoever on development itself.
Got it?
Good. so it's an excuse you made up. now run along. |

This is a very good point, however CCP would do well to inform us all of when these things are happening. Something like an announcement stating when (semi-specifically) they intend to submit the update to Sony QC for approval, and the patch notes. Communication is KING! Eliminate the cloak and dagger routine. This is the most current devpost i can find on this issue and it mentions the need for clientside changes. To be fair though, it does not explain why client side changes have to wait for the larger patch so it's understandable that those stuck with a broken gun are not charmed. That's why i tried to give a little explanation on why this cannot (feasibly) be hotfixed as the available info is not sufficient without this bit of knowledge. |

This shows that sony doesn't even have to delay the actual development to delay a release. Quality Assurance (yeah is said QC, that's wrong) obviously takes time and and people and unless you assume that sony has unlimited human resources that don't need to be paid you can hazard the guess that CCP pays for this process every time they submit an update. |

Given the dearth of any meaningful fixes and the trickle of content, it says volumes about their fan base, that we see enough potential in the future to grind now.
I understand you hate AFKing at this moment. But! I assure you, the dichotomy of this game's stagnation versus promise will have you AFKing before long. And if not, all the power to you. But you have to understand you just haven't gotten to where a lot of the old timer player base has. At least we haven't abandoned ship :)
Player numbers will not drop due to removal of afk. To be a player, you must play. Afkers are, therefore, not players, but merely parasites on the players. Good riddance.

Don't forget that they also had a working matchmaking system but Villains QQed about it because they couldn't stomp Heroes anymore and pad their stats. Also, DCUO isn't F2P, it's "Freemium." You can do PVE to your hearts content from level 1-30, but once you get to a certain point, you have to pay for the regular expansions for the right to grind endgame. |

Everyone, it is okay!
Once CCP moves onto the PS4 all our woes will go away and Dust 514 will be enjoyable for once. No more lag or hit detection errors at all!
Kinda of a shame though Rockstar seems to be able to utilize a PS3 better with GTA V than CCP. I'd be extremely upset if GTA V runs better than Dust 514 considering the potential map sizes and stuff in GTA V.
On a more serious note Dust doesn't feel like EVE at all. Its not gritty, not a lot of fun to play, when you shoot someone in Dust and have a direct aim the effect is like shooting someone at 200KM with an Electron Blaster in EVE, it just doesn't work well or run well.
I find myself wanting to play EVE more than Dust now. Is that your objective CCP? Make a broken PS3 game to hook people onto EVE instead?
Seeing as how I just don't feel like forking over more money to CCP until they get something right with Dust I'll just have to settle with Rift for my MMO needs.
CCP just make EVE Free to Play, can Dust for the moment, and start from scratch. Stardock failed with a little game called Elemental War of Magic and they apologized for it and worked from scratch to make a new game that actually had potential and worked. They even provided this expansion for free to those who bought in to the junk that was the original War of Magic.
Please learn from Stardock's example CCP. |

well, yeah ccp already does this with eve, and people love them for it not sure why we're kept in the dark dust side? i'd love to enter into conversation with ccp about upcoming fixes. considering how this game was basically a flop at launch, all they have left is us diehards to help them fix their game |
