Could be anything tbh.
Im hopeful they will sort the communication issue out really soon.

CCP Mintchip // Twitter - @CCP_Mintchip Dust 514 Community Rep "We"? lol. How is it that you guys have time to stroll the forums when you should be coding? Or, is feeding us cheer messages what the majority of you "blue-tags" really do? Because, technically, "we" aren't working hard to get fixes out to qq'rs, carebears and the nerfin-derp patrol if that's the case. In fact, be honest CCP, all that you are required to do is tell us, hmm hmm: "we are working very hard to, blah blah blah" "thank you guys for be patient, blah blah blah" "we look forward to hearing more feedback, blah blah blah" etc. Am I right? Or am I right? lol So, clearly the issue here is that the CCP Shanghai staff have the gall to do anything other than code for the 24 hours we have in each day, only 8 of which they are probably on the clock.

I find it amazing that we keep hearing about fixes and better communication but it never actually happens. Unless of course better communication translates to better communication, in which case; stellar job.

I think by parameters he meant that they are understaffed. I don't think CCP will spell it out: we are trying to make a very cheap game, so it's not coming together very well or very fast. An excellent post, though, on your part. |

Well they had the gall to charge money for a beta (merc pack, wink wink) and promise an awesome game. Far from coding 24/7 their whole office took off for half a week for a ! Kite - chasing festival in Shanghai - now that's true commitment to work, true work ethics. |

First off this post doesn't apply to everyone who posted in this thread... but I think I've caught the rage rant whine disease...
Wow, this thread had more whining than I can possibly believe. 1) Wanking on the forums accomplishes nothing. Seriously, do you think being so annoying accomplishes anything? The people at CCP you are berating are at work. Working. Do you really think that you being a big **** is going to make them want to show up early and work on your dumb idea? 2) They are working on a VIDEO GAME. There are a million video games being worked on at any time and since Dust is fun to play and you have all "invested" so much time it just proves their resume is now even better than it was before. Why do you think EA builds one crappy game after the next? Because their business model is to abandon the crap once everyone gets bored and starts wanking (and they've made a certain amount of money). If you want to do even more ineffectual raging go post on their forums and see how effective that is. 3) Time spent playing a game isn't the same as time spent studying in college or working on a project. If you spent weeks/months/years of your life playing Dust and now you feel like you've "earned" something you are wrong. You were PLAYING a game. You earned the good feeling that happened when things went good in a match and nothing more. If they've made enough money (or they are just sick of listening to the whiners) they can just turn it OFF tomorrow. You will just wander off and find another game to whine about. Also, this game is free. 4) I'd love to see all you make your own game and then live up to the expectations you are trying to place on the Devs. 5) Good luck in life in general. I am a manager IRL and I have 19 people that I manage. I can safely say that people do NOT do their best work when being whipped.
I'm done.

We are definitely working on those things. :P Including, but not limited to, such things as Aim, Movement, Matchmaking, New player experiences. These things have been talked about across the forum and are being worked on. As for new features or the specifics on those fixes and the changes that are coming - can't be expressed at the moment but we are at the precipice of making that information known.
We want your feedback on specifics of the game, critical feedback on what is perceived as needing work. This is the stuff that we read and listen to and bring up in meetings. We are also the ones that are working on getting the developers to put into words all the things they are doing specifically, the nitty-gritty stuff that you guys can then dissect - colorfully.
We are changing our emphasis internally and we'll hopefully be telling you about that more in the near future. You may have already noticed some of the effects with more forum activity from blues. While it might not seem like much, what you're experiencing are the initial ripples.

New player experience sucks. If you want it to work, you have to ease them into it. Give them challenges that reward with items or SP like 'Revive Ten Teammates and get x50 Standard Racial Logi dropsuits'. Currently, they're bombarded with information right at the start and the instant battle academy doesn't even show them how to form squads or set orders.
They need these challenges and their associated rewards and they should be optional. Show them the classes, a BRIEF rundown of what they do (with racial philosophy included) and then let them decide what challenges to go for, or all of them if they want.
Introduce the Certificates system from eve with select skill packages as to give them a base idea oh what the hell those skills are good for and how they coincide. |

WTB Threads in 'Feedback & Requests' started by Developers relevant to the topic about larger upcoming changes. You know, like we have on EVE-O with most of the stuff Team Five-Oh does (Fozzie/Rise/Ytterbium w/ ship balancing).
The CPM isn't the most adequate sounding board for everything; they're great for things you can't talk to the rest of us about, because we might riot over it. But at the same time, the CPM shouldn't be the only sounding board, there are just not enough of them, and their "closeness" to CCP (don't get me wrong, that's a good and necessary thing for discussing NDA material) can lead to certain things being overlooked.
For things we know are in the pipe, such as those you just mentioned, please please please ask the relevant devs to take a little time out of their busy days to keep us posted about the specific changes they're making.
Most of us don't like being in the dark.
e: Most of this needs to happen in a timely fashion so we have at least a few weeks to provide feedback. |

Let me think this one over.
I have been here since close beta.
-We are playing the same exact map with only small variations for the past year. Oh hey a new building.
-Tanks sucked. Tanks were OP. Tanks sucked. Tanks were OP.
-We were promised total warfare with vehicles. We just finally got assault dropships (even tho we saw awesome jets flying). As well as MCC piloting.
-Oh those new suits? Nope.
-Oh hai. Laser guns. Nerfed to oblivion.
-Oh you paid real money for those suits that doesnt require any skills? Let me put them at a stupid requirement to get them. Oh hey guess what, you can rebuy them, in the 100$ merc pack.
-Oh hai guys, we have so many good ideas!!! No updates.
-You liked this build? Let me release the game with more glitches than there has ever been since closed beta. Oh oops. Sorry. Sucks to be you. Let me put an apology here.
CCP, I spent about 200$ with you guys in hoping things would get better. PS4 has been announced, playstation + will be required to play online, there is no news from you about future consoles. Hell, you dont even do good deals for your paid transactions.
You are introducing and re-introducing elements that us beta players as a community told you was straight up stupid (contact grenades is a big one). So now saying you have people in place to be better listening to the community sounds like a big joke to me.
You have no timeline, except *Soon* and in today's fast paced world, it is not enough.
I still check the forums, in hope to see an update (seriously been a month since launch and we are still barely getting nuggets), because there is a small part of me that hopes that it will someday work.
Your version is great. Your timeline and most likely way of doing things arent.

Thank you very much for your dedication and commitment to your customers. Thanks for your efforts to make this product the ground breaking, genre moving success that it has the potential to be.
Thank you for your patience in replying to the endless avalanche of hyperbole and grief that many posters fling in your general direction.
Despite appearances, not every player believes that Uprising, Dust514, or CCP are responsible for all the evil in the world let alone everything that is wrong with online gaming today.
You are doing a great job balancing a myriad of demands against a finite set of resources. I appreciate your efforts.
Whining, complaining Internet game forum diaspora;
Chill out already. This. +1. If I were at CCP maybe I would have run out of patience already. Really? In a lot of companies there would have been a new management team put in if the whole thing not shut down based on how the last year has gone. The only reason this game hasn't been shitcanned is the trickle of money coming in as well as the war chest of money CCP made off of eve to subsidize this until it becomes a good source of income on it's own. For example, I used to oversee development of high frequency trading software for a trading firm in the US. I can assure you, if any dev team I worked with served up a Dust like product we'd have moved on quite quickly. Maybe we'd have stuck in there for a bit, but not for 14 months of these shenanigans. But- that's trading software, not a video game
This is so true! I am a business owner and I can tell you that if any of my people created a product like this they would all be gone because at the end of the day I would be out of business eventually.
CCP has to be feeling the heat on this project. From a business side it looks like a huge failure right now. They have been working on DUST for years and this is as far as they have gotten? Time, effort, resources, etc...for this? Wow...

Well, at least CCP FoxFour actually posted a thread in Features & Requests about Corp Roles. That's more than I can say for any other dev bar CmdrWang (but he's not CCP Blam!).
The moment the community gets to interact with the devs that actually make the changes, as they make them, on a regular basis -- to call them on mistakes and present alternate solutions -- is the moment this game starts changing for the better. CCP Reykjavik learned this a while ago, it's time for CCP Shanghai to do the same.
Especially after that E3 trailer that just got posted. |

That video was garbage.
Although it was a true reflection on what this game is, garbage. |

But- that's trading software, not a video game This is so true! Wow...
its an awfully large investment... but the game has great potential. i could end up being one of the single greatest MMOs, if it had better core play. if they could master this version, they could create a version for the PS4 with better graphics, but keeping the same core mechanics and strengthening ideas down the road.
CCP learn a lesson from CoD, they f***ed up alot, but every 2-3weeks they were updating something and balancing things. giving as many things as possible a slight buff, or slight nerf until everything was sorta balanced out. patch notes were always released the week before the update.
also, the PS$ is supposed to be backwards compatible upto PS2 games. so you should be able to play DUST 514 on your PS4 |

they do have high potential which is why im sticking around i mean what the announcers says besides all the advertizing is actually true. there arent anyother games where in real time you can interact with PC and counsel players. not many if there are any games out which have space battles over planets with ground battles going on at the same time. it is a very unique title. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_LlH2c5dyA
but CCP all we ask is for a direct answer, some information. i men people rage, but ultimately its your game. we just want to know whats going on |
