I, too, think CCP and their dust project has a lot of promise. I've played a lot, contributed money, etc.
But let's not split hairs, nor sugar coat a few obvious issues that have arisen since the uprising release. It's become kind of glaring that the devs of dust have some very bizarre priorities, and they lack attention to detail. It seems like problems that would arise from a group of developers all doing their own thing and combining their work in a big mash up resulting in an unharmonious product.
I guess they will eventually arrive at their destination as to where they want this product to be. I have no doubt about that, really. They have a lot of time, and can ultimately do really good damage control once they have a good product. But there have been so many missteps recently, and let's be blunt. Uprising added a little bit of cosmetic changes and very small content updates. However, it added nothing to the foundation, which is as of yet, still quite broken.
They don't need yes man cheer leading right now. They need blunt honest assessments that are productive, intelligent, and nudging. We can pat their backs AFTER they accomplish something, not before. We are all adults here. You aren't guaranteed success. I think they've had enough wake up calls to hopefully realize they are apparently struggling, and need to make some proactive changes that will get them back on their feet.
I mean, does anyone think they are in control right now? It seems like a firefighting fest, and we are all trapped in their burning building. We need a refreshing water hose of bug fixes and content all over us with force. 8 months from now is not going to cut it. |

If AFK goes away you can be sure of one thing, player numbers will fall off. I played ten matches earlier. Of those ten matches I played almost every single match on the same map. Only a few of those times the buildings/turrets were rearranged.
Given the dearth of any meaningful fixes and the trickle of content, it says volumes about their fan base, that we see enough potential in the future to grind now.
I understand you hate AFKing at this moment. But! I assure you, the dichotomy of this game's stagnation versus promise will have you AFKing before long. And if not, all the power to you. But you have to understand you just haven't gotten to where a lot of the old timer player base has. At least we haven't abandoned ship :) |

Thank you very much for your dedication and commitment to your customers. Thanks for your efforts to make this product the ground breaking, genre moving success that it has the potential to be.
Thank you for your patience in replying to the endless avalanche of hyperbole and grief that many posters fling in your general direction.
Despite appearances, not every player believes that Uprising, Dust514, or CCP are responsible for all the evil in the world let alone everything that is wrong with online gaming today.
You are doing a great job balancing a myriad of demands against a finite set of resources. I appreciate your efforts.
Whining, complaining Internet game forum diaspora;
Chill out already. This. +1. If I were at CCP maybe I would have run out of patience already.
Really? In a lot of companies there would have been a new management team put in if the whole thing not shut down based on how the last year has gone. The only reason this game hasn't been shitcanned is the trickle of money coming in as well as the war chest of money CCP made off of eve to subsidize this until it becomes a good source of income on it's own.
For example, I used to oversee development of high frequency trading software for a trading firm in the US. I can assure you, if any dev team I worked with served up a Dust like product we'd have moved on quite quickly. Maybe we'd have stuck in there for a bit, but not for 14 months of these shenanigans. But- that's trading software, not a video game |

People aren't being dicks. However, sensitive people needlessly have their **** alarms going off... wait.. that didn't come out right. shoot, oops. too much innuendo and it won't stop.
ahem...
This game has major issues. We can talk about it. relax. no one is going to take your game away from you.
And Sony isn't the problem. That's just inventing excuses. |

And Sony isn't the problem. That's just inventing excuses. Who are you even talking to? If that sony remark is a response to my post. Did you understand what i just wrote? Do you have justification for saying it's just an "excuse"?
Um, I'm talking to you. I guess you figured it out and blew a gasket? lolz.
I did understand what you just wrote. But I seriously doubt you do.
Sony is not responsible for the development problems with dust. To say it is, is to make an excuse on CCPs part.
My justification is that mostly, that's all conjecture, at best, on your part. You do not know that as fact. In addition, many developers in the world have worked with sony, for better or good, to release their games, DLC, patches, and what have you for years. They have an established protocol to release such things. Sony outlined it mostly unchanged quite awhile ago. Apple and microsoft do the same checks that sony does. It is all very predictable, and has no bearing whatsoever on development itself.
Got it?
Good. so it's an excuse you made up. now run along. |

Quality Assurance (yeah is said QC, that's wrong) obviously takes time and and people and unless you assume that sony has unlimited human resources that don't need to be paid you can hazard the guess that CCP pays for this process every time they submit an update.
Yea. So you are making up scenarios you don't know much about. FACT.
This game has been in development for years. FACT.
They had a long time between chromosome and uprising. FACT.
Sony didn't delay a gaddamn thing for CCP. FACT.

Usually I'd snip my post, but I left it so you could read it and realize I never said I did. He sure did tho. You'd think he was Hilmar's secretary. All the facts I listed are true. Anyone coudl extrapolate that no matter how hard sony might delay something short term, it has nothing to do with dust's problems. hasn't ever been one. He just doesn't understand development cycles in the least.

Player numbers will not drop due to removal of afk. To be a player, you must play. Afkers are, therefore, not players, but merely parasites on the players. Good riddance.
You think AFkers don't ever play? lolol. okay. Lemme guess- you rock 0-6 and blame the AFKers?

Since they seem to elude you and all.. I felt like I'd bullet point all the facts you'd need to realize no one is going to buy your bullshit.

What ever. I thank goodness that I do not have to respond to all of these arm-chair quarterback style business management posts in a professional manner like CCP. I would probably hire some popular Internet personality filled with smiles and glee just to avoid it.
Do you people berate every gas station owner and WalMart checkout clerk about how they run thier business too?
Just being a customer of a company does not give you any expectation that your rage induced whine posts (cleverly disguised as business savvy) should be well received or acted upon by people running that business.
Yah, yah....free Internet forum is free. Post your hate and delusioned solutions for all of CCPs shortcomings. I do honestly hope you feel better.
I actually do feel better telling you how I feel. Maybe that's the point
Sorry to break it to you, but I don't fit your made up image of me. I realize the fantasy makes you feel better I suppose
Basically, I'm just going to let you know I am not going to waste my time explaining anything. I think you have little business experience, are emotional and hysterical in your responses, and I am sure CCP really appreciates you defending them. They certainly need it.
