When the vast majority of the playerbase creates a coalition to push a minor timezone out of the sandbox and make all districts US timed, there are two things that can happen:
Some fight the coalition for ***** and giggles (CRONOS and Unclaimed.)
US timezone fills the whole PC, making it impossible for anyone else to settle in afterwards.
Now most of dust players are US based. CCP needs to provide the statistics for this, but it is obvious from public server vividity. If CRONOS falls, Dust sandbox will dwindle to US only. When the timers on map are all at early morning to other parts of the world, and the big majority of players are reinforcing those timers, the sandbox would be dead for the rest of the world. Come June 4th, by N-F and EoN pressure, CCP is caving in and releasing timezone swap to district winner instantly. This is a bad move, because it allows the vast majority of players to push everyone else out and set timers, forced by their numbers, into US only for the whole map. This is what happens if CRONOS falls.
Dust514 dies when the sandbox is closed for euro and asia. Dust probably dies this year in any case due to the gameplay just being bad, but the chances are slimmer if PC has a good timezone span. CRONOS is holding the last front of timezones outside US in the sandbox. So, either CRONOS survives or Dust dies :)

If you want more Euro timers, win matches. I didn't think the concept was too difficult to grasp. |

No
The winners get to change timers because you failed to win
As it is the losers can consistantly throw ISK and clones packs at you and prevent you from moving your timer even tho you keep hammering them and pushing them back, ther is no escape
I really dont care what corps do, its upto them when they change ther times but also think of this
We only have Modlen Heath, 1 region, when PC gets expanded out into more regions and more planets we will have even more districts and you cannot put 100districts in the same 12hr timezone without them interfering with other districts timers
It may only be a problem now in Molden Heath in the short term but in the long term it will balance itself out with the increase of planets and districts |

I'm curious how Euro's envisioned PC would go for them when all Euro corps joined the same alliance? Did you just expect to never have to fight anyone because your timers where during the US lunch time? Did you think US players would just allow you guys to farm isk without any risk to attack due to your monopoly of the Euro TZ?
CRONOS falling will actually be the best possible outcome for Euro players as hopefully they will split apart and join different alliances blending them with their US counterparts allowing for all TZs to be represented by many different alliances.
By creating a EU TZ monopoly in CRONOS you forced CCP to make this change. The best thing for the Euro's would be for CRONOS to fall, because that would end the segregation between US and EU players that exists today. |

I can go and toss a number between 2 and 4, and the multiplier of US vs. restoftheworld player pool would surface in between. This player pool and timezone mechanics combined result in a clear outcome, which is PC becoming 0200-0600 hours timed sandbox. Only one continent has any business in entering such a sandbox through expensive genopacks, as the corporations in it grow fat on clone goo.
The only thing mounting a defense against this outcome is the CRONUT coalition. We are the only thing rallied against the inevitable looking cutting out of 2/3 of the topographical world from playing Dust sandbox.
There are two types of game mechanics: preserving and **** stirring ones. June 4th mechanic is a **** stirrer - it favors the attacker. CCP does not realize, however, that in this very time the preserving mechanic is the only one that has been actively keeping the rest of the world in the sandbox. When it changes, the numbers advantage the US coalition has will turn into countless attacks that plain burn out rest of the world from the sandbox.
This is what CRONOS will fight. Rally with us for Dust514, or rally against us to kill the game. I personally enjoy either of the outcomes: a glorious future for the sandbox, or a coup de grace for a rough first person shooter. |

I've been warning for months that Molden Heath would soon be locked down by kaiju alliances and turn into a NAP fest (aka The Blue Donut).
It's been two weeks and this is just another facet of that transformation.
Until we have more space to fight over, a handful of kaijus will be able to dominate PC and turn all the timers to their advantage. Once the timers are turned, that just hastens the transformation and reduces the number of corps that can compete.
The difficulty here is that CCP is trying to make a "casual friendly" "hardcore" game, which is like making milk-free cheese, i.e.- tofu. Some people like tofu, but many people don't- so they try to make the soy cheese more cheese-like and less tofu-like. That angers the people who like tofu and the people who prefer cheese still aren't happy.
Which gets back to...
CCP needs to give people more game options, and especially more sandbox opportunities. |

Actually this mechanic change favours the winner
If the attacker wins and gets the district they can change the timer
If the defender wins they can change the timer
Whoever wins and gets that districts they can change the timer
The only players who seem to be against this are the losers because they cannot just throw ISK at the problem anymore and they actually have to fight and win
This US TZ thing is short term at best but it also depends on who controls the districts and also the alliance
In EVE generally alliances need to have corps and members across all the TZ to be able to defend and attack when they like
If CRONOS is all EU then whos fault is that? |
