What's the point of having such a diverse and complex game if you can't dive into the skill tree and go to town on it? Restricting gameplay is not what playing a game with options is about, they cancel each other out.
I for one need a bit more SP then I'm gonna spec into Caldari Logi, get 600 shield, cardiac regulator and kinetic catalyser and go zoooooooooooooom. (if we get the optional respec option soon which as you can see I want). |

Jin Robot wrote:People want to leave the OP fits when they get fixed and move on to the next win button fit asap. I've been saying this for a while. There's also boredom, though. Not everyone likes using the same gear and tactics every time they play. I'd like to see more flexibility with our fitting options, but with the militia gear being so limited to only select weapons, that kind of flexibility would likely require yet another skill tree revamp. I like the change, but I'd be nice to see similar weapons branching off of a generalized one or allow the light / heavy / side arm skills to unlock standard weapons in their respective categories to eliminate the need to potentially waste SP on a weapon you discovered you didn't like.
I agree, though. Wanting a respec so you can instantly get prototype (blank) weapon when it hits the market is a bit much. Its just rather difficult to be able to distinguish the people who are just not enjoying the gear they skilled into from the people who want the next big thing due to the whole "human nature" thing. |

Jin I've gotta tell you something right now, bro, because I've been noticing a certain trend with your posts, man. That trend being that most of your posts make absolute sense, no question about it. Keep it up, dude! Now as far as respeccing skills go: Absolutely not! No way in hell! That's the worst idea ever and goes against everything that makes EVE and Dust 514 great. |

I can understand waiting for jets or other vehicles or such, even these specialized dropsuits.
All main dropsuits should have been in from day one - period.

Full or partial respecs due to mistakes on CCPs part are a whole different story.
Regular respecs, even for real money, go completely against the spirit of New Eden. |

So if you want to be a Minmatar Heavy, Caldari Heavy, Gallente Heavy, Caldari Light, or Amarr Light you should just wait out what is likely the entire summer and give up being able to be competitive in FW and PC? |

Part of it is that they want you to use aurum weapons on those fits you can't get the SP for quite yet.
Even though its free to play, they do still need to make an income.
Getting lvl 3 in anything is easy, and then buying a couple meta 5 aurum weapons to screw around with isnt that bad actually. I've done it... had a whole night of codewishes and in the end I spent like... 30-40 cents for an evening of fun... cheaper than going out (anywhere) hell its cheaper than driving somewhere!
tbh, I would happily play the same spec over and over and over... if i could do so... however, horrible framerate and hit detection issues, not to mention the still unfixed gun ranges, is causing the whole experience to be more frustrating than anything.

Many of us pilots want respecs so we can reallocate the SP spent on CCP's mistakes. Many prereqs and skill bonuses have been changed in fundamental ways, leaving us with hundreds of thousands of SP skilled into either entirely irrelevant or extremely low efficacy skills. |

OP's case in point. The Q is will you call for another respect when this fit is no longer overpowered?

If this is supposed to be "Eve" like and be a sandbox, let the floodgates open, let them respec with Aurum. CCP wins, customer wins. Eventually the customer will find what they truely love and stick to it.

Eve Online has no respec system for skill points. Only basic attributes get annual respecs and those attributes only affect how fast you train a certain type of skill book. |

For those that are arguing for regular respecs because of new gear, Eve players never got them, why should you? If dedicated Amarr pilot thought the latest and greatest Caldari ship was better than what they had, then they had to spec into it. CCP never said, oh BTW, since we added a new ship or changed the ships we are going to give you all your SP back so you can start over. In fact, in all the time that I have played EvE, I can only think of one respec that was given and it was because they removed essential skills from the game.
For those that want to argue, "This isn't EvE!!!" This is the game you built, this isn't the game you invested millions of dollars into, this isn't the game that you thought of, and if respecs are a make or break deal for you, then this isn't the game for you. |
