True there must be boundries but this is a free to play game. This die hard stance on not allowing respecs will hurt this game not help it with new non fanboi customers. Your seeing it from a gamers perspective im looking at it from a customers perspective. Some customers haven't the opportunity to go thru multiple refunds/resets and try different things until they can find what brings them joy.
Not to mention CCP has made quite a few mistakes with descriptions and such. |

Wait one second, until CCP showed those items at Fanfest, there was never any reason, stated or implied, for anyone to think that those items would EVER be in Dust. You knew exactly what this game was releasing with, CCP themselves released the information a week in advance. It's not like you were surprised, caught off guard, or even promised those items before they were announced at Fanfest.

Also i already said this in another thread but the difference between lvl IV and V is the same as 0 and IV (damn you romans for not having zeroes!). That means you can put your current class to IV instead of V and use the saved SP to spec into the desired class as it's released without sacrifice in efficiency or delay. |

Except CCP had the freedom to choose their own deadline. They could have released 6 months from now, instead they decided this would be good enough. I don't know what standard they originally set for themselves as far as release content goes, but if this is it then that's pretty damn low. |

How could have possibly known what you wanted for release, when until Fanfest CCP hadn't even announced those items? You speculated and gambled on something that didn't happen, bottom line. CCP never once promised those items.
As far as the Massive Skill changes in EvE, yeah in my 6 years of playing it's happened once and those were for SKILL changes. Not adding new skills, taking away skills that changed the way the skill system worked. You are asking for a respec because you want something that you have no idea if you'll want when it's released. Perhaps they are crap suits or whatever and you won't want them. Don't QQ about repecs for something that you have no idea what it will or won't be other than to say at Fanfest CCP announced these items. Doesn't matter. They announced T3's for EvE, but didn't tell everyone they could have repecs so they could get into the new flavor of the month.
You want repecs, go play Star Trek Online or Star Wars, we'll see you back in a week when you stop crying.

Entitlement versus Reality in here... we are outnumbered. I understand the scope of this game and am happy being patient. CCP does not owe us anything, and they are trying hard, its not like the suits were not ready because CCP decided to watch a marathon of Firefly, they are trying and we should not act like spoiled children.

Eve Online, a game whose server we are directly connect to at this very moment, is still undergoing additions and changes that are so grand it's a complete wonder how New Eden has survived and flourished with only one (just ONE) respect in its entire 10-year lifespan.
When Eve Online first came in, battleships were considered the biggest ships in New Eden and owning one meant you were powerful and wealthy. On top of that, there were no specialized mining ships at the time. No Hulk, no Coveter, no Skiff, no Venture (the Venture is a recent addition actually), no Orca, no Rorqual, nothing. Everyone was mining in either a Bantam or in a Rohk. The Orca and Rorqual came at around 2007 (give or take a year) in a game that was officially released in 2003. The Tengu, Loki, Legion, and Proteus never arrived until about a couple of years ago when the Apocrypha expansion arrived. The skill system didn't get fully revamped until about just last year in 2012 or early this year. Learning skills didn't get removed until around 2010 or 2011. Titans and the complex means of constructing them never arrived until way after commercial release. The Naga, Talos, Oracle, and Tornado never came until last year when the Crucible expansion arrived.
Regardless of all of these additions and changes, regardless of the demands of the carebears who kept stomping and screaming wanting respecs on demand, CCP only allowed one respec across 10 whole years.
Dust will probably endure the same fate. This game is being run by the same company that made Eve Online after all and we all are living in the same 10-year-old universe with a cultural norm that has been well established with deep roots too strong to uproot. |

I'm sorry - but is it really that hard to put in the other base dropsuits????
The game doesnt even have proper animations for everything so please dont say they are trying to give us the moon. A few new models with differing values.
I can understand vehicles or weapons that behave totally different and those mechanics need to be worked out but avatars????? You have got to be joking. Are they a 2-man outfit?
5/14 rolls around every year so that cant be the excuse either. Maybe Sony is pushing them or they just wanted to launch and not waste all of their time and have to move to PS4 - who knows. Some basics should have been maintained if you want to launch though.
You cant claim to have this rich universe and play a roll and the like and then tell people "chill, we will get to that Soon" Get the basics in and then build on the exotic in time. I have patience and confidence that they will deliver some good content but you have to point out wrong or lacking when it is so.
Still against unnecessary respecs and as Robot said - militia weaponry is an easy fix for at least part of the problem |

Well, the truth is that CCP choosing a clever release date over content was a dumb move. I honestly believe that they could have done a better job if they had just waited a few more months, and while it's too late to back out of release, they could partially remedy the impact this has on their customers by offering partial respecs once they release the other content that i feel should have been a part of release.
It would also help if they would at least comment on the situation so that people should know whether they should use their skill points, or save them for the other content, but of course... We know they're just going to stay silent on this whole debate.

CCP need to stop changing the entire game and need to have a "game base" so they can start with "add content". Because you train some skills and use some weapons than you like and then CCP Nerf change all the game. Skills doesn't work, weapons are not like before. So yes, people want to have the "op" weapon. But CCP need to make SP Respec anytime that they change the whole game.

it is unfortunate that the racial variety is not complete. Maybe if once the other variants are put in CCP could put in the extra work to transfer all heavy dropsuit skills into your preferred races equivalent heavy dropsuit skills, and so on for the suits that are not in. Yeah one reset in 10 years, and it was for skills being removed from the skill tree, NOT additions to the skill tree.
But I just want to call you out as a troll right now:
With all the venom you spat in your quoted comments above I find hilarious you are screaming for constant resets when in fact you said and I quote:
crazy space 1 wrote:The option won't be given untill we have 6ore weapons and the 20 new dropsuit skills
Not to mention all of the new tank skills and dropships incomming. The number of skills is going to triple sooner than later a reset is obviously coming. And all the testing you've done won't help u pick what to respec into.
Sloth, even you have supported the continious ability to repsec, but you said:
Sloth9230 wrote:Matakage wrote: And are you actually upset about the time you invested in a beta? Let me remind you -- it's a freaking beta. You lose your stuff when the full game comes out. That's when you HTFU, vets.
A beta where we were told that we would get to keep our SP as an incentive. As an INCETIVE, most people were here for the SP alone. Of course you want a reset, you barely have any SP, lets see you say the same thing in a year if your're still here.
So I'm confused are you guys for or against a reset? U say one thing here and other things in other places. So are you for or against, or maybe you're just trolling. Just to show you what kind of goals CCP at one point had for Dust https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=nmgb8ERT__c#t=66s
"We have 10 vehicles classes, 8 of them are planned for launch". It is now launch, we have 3.
Now, that build got deleted and they started from scratch so it's understandable that their plans changed, but still, we went from 8 to 3. They might have lowered their goals just a little too much. |

So they are dreamers, thats a good thing. |
