The sights on the Scrambler Rifle need to be made less Opaque.

Seems odd that the scrambler has an optic sight while the laser rifle (which is designed for longer ranges) is stuck with an obstructive iron sight.
The regular scrambler rifle variant overheats too fast IMO. I would raise the amount of shots it takes to overheat by 3. |

Oddest thing to me is the passive that only works for one weapon variant. That isn't the case for any of the other weapons in the game, right? That your maxed weapon skill does nothing for weapon? Having heat build-up reduction of some percentage would probably be more useful to the average user. |

I really can't make a verdict on this gun yet by the numbers its OP as ****, and I feel in the right hands it could blow every weapon away but its actually made the tac and std AR easier to use so far and is next to useless in CQC but we'll see. |

frankly I won't know till I see the first couple of PC rounds, pub stomps never tell you anything meaningful about weapons ballance. least not with out a lot of time playing every weapon.
Dude its not even remotely OP.
Anyone within say 25 meters has you dead to rights, anyone with a tact has you dead to rights. Mid range between the two you can get away with decent carnage though. |

Didn't play too much tonight, but I was actually surprised I wasn't overwhelmed by SR's left and right (typical when new stuff comes out... everybody just has to have it).
But when I did come across a SR user, and they sunk a hit or two into my shield heavy suit, it was pretty crazy. But not OP kind of crazy, more like "They have to learn how to use it properly for it to be crazy" crazy.
So far it seems be be in the background, but it is very effective when used by the right player, which is almost the dictionary definition of balanced in an online game.
We'll see how it is in a few weeks when players start to sink some new-found SP into the SR skill upgrades and adv or proto become more common. But for now it seems balanced.
My only gripe with it so far is the sound of my teammates using it, as it always sounds like I have some nova knife user near me trying to slice my head off (very similar sound effect). IMO, along with teammates laser rifle sound, the audio effect needs to be tweaked a but. There should never be any doubt if a teammate is firing a weapon at an enemy, or an enemy firing one at me. As it is now, a teammate firing a laser rifle sounds just like an enemy firing one at, or near, me. And a teammate firing a SR sounds like a enemy nova knife user is nearby swiping his blades. |

Far too much damage/clip with the charge feature only using 1 ammo/shot; we're talking 12,000 damage/clip. I've never really been forced to reload because of that; my end of match "damage inflicted" stat usually ends up around 10,000.
So yeah, way too much dam/clip. If the ammo cost for a shot scaled with charge level it'd be absolutely fine - as it stands you're never going to run out of ammo. EVER.
But the more important stats are great. |

Whats more likely to kill you isnt the heat feedback but the seizing up of the gun. Very few guns have to worry about heat feed back and seizing.....you have to be very careful. |

Bravo CCP. The Scrambler Rifle was perfectly executed and perfectly balanced.
Tactical AR-styled accuracy and damage, yet perfectly mitigated by the the overheat trait.
A perfectly balanced weapon. Absolutely perfect.
Take the Assault variant and evaporate someone's shields, yet not as effective against armor... everything the laser rifle should have been... and more.
The Scrambler Rifle was perfectly done. Perfectly done. Bravo CCP!
I'm not exaggerating. The word "perfect" is perfectly accurate when describing this weapon. There's little to no qq, everyone can use it, and it's potent. How often does a weapon in Dust fall into the perfect category?
Now if we can just get the Tactical Assault Rifle to be as well mitigated... *cough*clip size*cough*, then the qq will end for that weapon as well, and it too can be...

I have to admit CCP seemed to do a good job this time around in making the scrambler balanced yet unique in its handling and usage. Those who complain too much probably have problems with it overheating and thus they should use a different weapon if they cant lay off of the trigger. Its got good pros and cons that can justify its usage.
Bravo. Although I disagree with many things CCP has done in the game and I am by no means a fanboi I can also see when they get something right and diserve kudos. |

Its a really solid gun. I find myself switching between it and the TAR depending how the fight is going. The charged shot is awesome, but tends to lead to lots of assists because you dont quite have enough in the heat capacity to finish off most assaults/heavies.
Still, its a great part of a good squad. Like i pedicted it is huge in "blob" fighting. Getting off a charged shot or two into a crowd can make the blob fall apart very quickly. |
