Being a little logical, I am guessing a Amarr laser gun for long range, fast heat build up...but this feel weird to my eyes in the hand of the heavy who is suposed to be in combat. So probably a shorter range laser, no dispersion, but less dmg than HMG.
And a Gallente Heavy TAC assault Duvolle |

Does this mean the Amarr assault reduce SR heat buildup? |

Is the HMG and Forge gun being lumped in together? I mean the AR and SR are lumped together and it looks like more variants are on the table on there. The Swarm launcher and Plasma Cannon I'm guessing is lumped together as well and likely seeing more.
I'm just confused because I've only ever heard the groupings to be determined by role/need.
The AR and SR both serve as medium range anti infantry weapons. The Swarm and Plasma Cannon both serve as anti vehicle weapons. The Scrambler Pistol and Flintlock both server as short range reserve Anti Infantry (not sure if the SMG is lumped in with these but from the above table they are not, so I imagine it is approach that changes here).
Granted I'm not read up on lore. But I assumed each race developed these items for military use for their own armies. So I have this image in my head of Caldari seeing that they need heavy frame units on field and develop their own. Then they need to equip these guys and say "Hey forge gun works just as well on infantry and vehicles"? Or did they say "Hey Minmatar we'll handle AV if you guys handle anti infantry and we'll trade"?
Are the HMG and Forge gun considered to fill the same niche in terms of combat or is the heavy weapon class itself supposed to be the niche? Because even sidearm looks to be getting more variation. |

Imagines the Gallente one is an anti infantry super heavy tri/quad barreled heavy shotgun.
Imagine the Amarr one to be like the Spartan Laser for anti-vehicle |

Yeah, it seems by CCP Remnant's comment that there will only be 4 heavy weapons in the game, one from each race. Though this was said about a Flak Cannon, which in the original proposal was a heavy weapon. Perhaps if they do something along those lines and if there will be only 4 heavy weapons, then it'll be a light AV weapon.
I was hoping for some more variation as well, but maybe, just maybe CCP Remnant just means that they want to have 1 racial heavy weapon variant for when they roll out the new racial heavies. Then maybe more heavy weapons to come after that. |

I didn't see it, could someone add the damage multipliers for each type to shields and armor. I know explosive is better against armor and laser is better against shields. Specific % would be helpful |

It would be useful to have range stats for each weapon available at the market. |

CCP Remnant wrote:We're still missing two heavy weapon variants (gallente and amarr). As to what they'll do... speculate away This is how much variety you gave us!
Options for Amarr: >Arc Thrower: I've heard this weapon was mentioned in Templar One, and described as a combination of plasma-thrower and Tesla coil. Would be the most intimidating weapon to see firing, and may have an Afterburn effect. >"Spartan Laser": OMGWTFBBQ, would likely be a Heavy version of the existing Scrambler technology if it operates as the current name suggests. >Lock-on Heavy Beam: an idea I had that involved a swiveling lens assembly that directed the laser at a target after a lock-on process, and if the target was kept in the reticule while firing. >"Gatling Laser": AP pulse laser that fires insanely fast with a long range. Good for suppression.
Options for Gallente: >Drones: the possible uses of a drone are limitless, and potentially awesome. >Plasma/flame-thrower: very popular among the community. a short-range, constant-fire weapon with Afterburn. >Heavy shotgun: I'd actually enjoy this weapon being AV-designed with a low clip and in-your-face range, but still mop the floor with dropsuits.
That's all I can think of, and many of these were already speculated above. |
