The MCC, Mobile Command Centre, strikes me as a mobile base of operations. Therefore, it should have landing pads for Dropships, Vehicle Drop Systems, as well as the current Infantry Jump Bay.
This would, of course, come with some form of internal structure to get around 'safely' while in the MCC...
For example, You spawn in the CRU on the MCC... this is a large, barracks-like room. Off this room, there are a few passageways, leading to a few different sections of the internal structure.
A) Resupply Room - Basically an MCC-fitted Supply Room that acts exactly like a Supply Depot (For Infantry Only).
B) Vehicle Deployment Room - Set in a Ventral Bay (like the current drop area) the Vehicle Bay lets you 'call-in' your vehicle from the on-board stock in the MCC itself. After it's created, and you enter it, after 15 seconds, the vehicle bay doors open and the vehicle is dropped into the combat zone. (Automatic Inertial Dampeners kicking in as it starts.)
C) Dropship Landing Pads - Situated on the top of the MCC, these act just like the Vehicle Bay, except the Dropships come from the inside out of hatches to be parked on the pads.
In the future, with Player-Owned MCCs, it may be possible to fit more utility rooms, making the MCC a valuable asset, and not a semi-automated objective.

Or make carriers able to deploy on planetary atmosphere as giant MCC's later on :) Make Nidhoggur viable in that role.
(the things are ~1km long, though, spanning more what would be the regular redline battlefield now). |

I like this idea so long as players don't have any ability to fight from the MCC. |

OK, but when you spawn in MCC you are fully supplied for battle... ???
Would you like to change your dropsuit after you spawn and change your mind? Cos when you jump out of bay there is no turning back alive for resupply into MCC. OK, you can jump on DS and convince the pilot to fly you into MCC
Also, you can call in vehicles while on ground... Anywhere...
Lame question: If i change my dropsuit in regular supply depot, do my "old" suit gets lost or returns to my assets? |

You spawn supplied, and yes, it would be difficult to return, but think how many times you've wanted to change on the field, and all the Supply Depots have been annihilated by the enemy (or friendly) tanks.
The advantage I state in getting vehicles in the MCC is that you don't NEED an RDV.. meaning that, for all intents and purposes, there is not time that you, or it, is vulnerable as you sit on the ground waiting for said vehicle. |

Oh this is a great idea. I honestly can't find a reason why they shouldn't make the MCC more like a carrier. |

I'm pretty on board but I feel the supply closet wouldn't be a necessity. I'd love to call in DS's on landing pads from way up, though. Sounds like a fantastic spot to rendezvous with my squad. |

I've had times where I've seen an enemy tank, chosen an AV fitting, then as I'm spawning in, heard the tank go up in flames. I'm now left with no viable targets, and a LOOOONG walk to the nearest Supply Depot.
There have also been times where I've spawned in teh MCC as an Assault Rifle guy, thinking I'd be able to drop into battle and have a decent chance, but while looking down from the MCC, I've noticed that there's a tank trying to spawn-camp, and wished there was a way to swap into one of my AV fittings.
For this, and other reasons, +1 to OP. |

MCC as a carrier would be great. I'm sure its on the todo list. I also see no reason why it can't have guns. The Titans did in BF 2142, and those weren't broke. At least I'm pretty sure they did. I also liked how you could eject from the titan far off into the map.
As for quick weapon switchs and stuff in the AV example. I actually don't like that. I would like to see AV become its own dedicated role on the battlefield. Maybe radically increase the natural damage output and give them multiple primary weapons and give them no slots for tank so that they become a second line DPS rather then something you just happen to switch into. |

I like how it seems to benefit dropships mostly.
And the ability to customise it makes me imagine there'll be a plethora of new skills which go with that, and I'm all for new skills. The harder it is for me to decide what role to play in the game, the better the game is. Or perhaps the skills could be linked to installation skills (if those are ever implemented). Dropship bays... I say yes. I can just see the MCC spawn point with three doors leading off to different bays, and whenever a dropship is available a green light above the door lights up, and hey! Passengers.

+1 I like the idea. I think if you where to add dropship bays then you should add some controllable AA turrets to the MCC to prevent enemy dropships from spawn camping. |

Also, how about vehicle recalling? You can only do this with ground vehicles when they're directly below the MCC and you're out of the vehicle. It would be an option in the deployment menu. An RDV would simply fly down, pick your vehicle up, and transport it to the MCC. The same thing could be done for dropships, but they could also be recalled when parked in their bays. |

Exactly, or even have it so the MCC commander (pilot) could reclaim those items as well when players request them.

With the fact RDVs crash into stuff and flatten blueberries already, I doubt I want those things anywhere near my ride, or me, when they come trying to grab stuff. I don't think there is the AI for this available. But still cool. |

That's the point, as per above. These MCCs atm are non-player controlled and owned. But it's clearly shown that in the future they're likely to be costing us up to or above 120,000,000 ISK to have these assets.
I don't know about the rest of you, but paying 120 Million ISK for an Objective that has no other purpose but to sit there and get shot is... laughable. Give it functionality that we DON'T have as well as some we do.
Add to that, when they become player own-able, custom modules, sets, etc. This is likely (aside from war barges themselves) one of the biggest investments in DUST, so making them naught but a flying target with a little bay to spawn out of is ridiculous. |

I'd even like to see MCC's landed on the ground, acting as a base. I also see no reason not to allow the MCC to house artillery with a limited range to help get a team out of RedLining. A team won't be as easily kept in the redline if powerful weaponry were available to beat them back far enough to stage an assault. Of course this is mostly map design, spawning in front of snipers and tanks is no fun in skirmish. |
