The general consensus is that stuff will be announced at EVE FanFest which is is April 25-27.
Hopefully they'll announce something like "new build out today!" but you can be sure they won't be announcing "new built out last week!" |

Really? Just played beta 3 for a few hours, unless its beta like a CCP beta it's kind of slow and dull, hate the auto aim, and the fighting did not get to frantic level like some corp matches... |

I've been playing the defiance beta for most of the night too, not impressed. It reminds me of DCUO with guns, and I wasn't impressed with DCUO either. |

You know that only CCP knows/has plans for when the next build is. You know that Not A Single regular player knows anything about timing of the next build. You know that any players privy to such information would be subject to an NDA.
Stop bothering with these rumors, and just accept that the next build is released when it is released. |

Defiance isnt that much of a threat. CCPs only real enemy right now is CCP. People are just tired of being jerked around with a promise to give you a promise about a tease in the future.
While the DEV Blog about the new build was pretty cool and something Im looking forward to, the announcement about an announcement at Fanfest irked me.
CCPs marketing department is a joke if they are using these tactics to get people interested. And this is coming someone who has a masters degree in marketing. Even the new guys who started after the open beta are already tired of SOONGäó.
Even Sony has been better about hyping up the new PS4. Yeah, it might not drop till winter 2013 but they know how to do the slow play. They announced that its coming with a general time frame and gave you enough teaser information to make you excited. They also have planned out how and when they will release all of the other information about the system.
Look at how movies do it. They announce the general date of release about 4-6 months in advance with a small teaser of what is coming. Then, as you get closer to release, they being to solidify the date as well as give more and more information about what is coming. This has been a tried and true method to getting people hyped up about a release. Now compare that to what the braintrust at CCP marketing have done... |

Current estimates are right after fan fest. We may get lucky and get it before the fest as part of a draw back i.to the game befor hype dumping on the dust players. I will say fanfest is the rare time ccp overhypes their games. Mosr blogs and interviews that try or do hype up eve are rather modest and surface scratching.
As for the defiance demo its bad does one of the worst thing a game can do... Which is lower the bar on what is an acceptaple wow clone(dont deny it, its a clone of world of warcraft with about 6 hours of content) . At least the old republic pulled hat aspect off right just had some birthing issues which led to its free to play. Trion only has been making games for two years and for some reason dont seem to understand how to player retention that well as a company. I mean comon holding pre order bonuses as a hostage (if insufficent pre orders are made you dont get the bonus) and then taking money during beta before a pay per copy launch is launched.
At least dust is a proper beta test for now and at this point they have no plans to lock out testers from their progress or puchases anymore. |

Ccp is yet to deliver anything promised put frankly even if they do deploy a new build at this point I have no faith it will work and it will take another 6 month's for anything else new to come along. I'm positive in a year or twos time this game will be awsome but I'm afired by that point it will be too late. They can't treat this game like EvE the markets are very diffrent to how eve was when it started they won't have a core base of players to build off if they keep fumbling along like they are.... Others. Companys are fair better at their phases. If dust had kept the NDA shield people are far more forgiving but this is been treated as a finished product and even as a free game its sub par as shown by Sony lack of intrest in promoting the game |

Stop bothering with these rumors, and just accept that the next build is released when it is released. You do realize that there are some members of dust that are ccp salts right? They could have been told to spread rumors such as this

I cannot agree with this at all. The marketing department at CCP has consistently oversold Dust, and routinely talks about features that are nowhere near ready for primetime. It is perhaps the most frustrating thing about being involved with this beta.
To the OP, do not expect anything before Fanfest. If you do, you will be sorely disappointed.
Everyone should just cross their fingers that CCP isn't going to try and release 0.8 with the summer expansion due for EVE. That would be a colossal mistake IMO, because the last thing you want to do is have your new build try to retain players when The Last of Us drops in mid June.
The casuals are already drying up right now, they will perform a mass exodus for a few we

I know its hard to belive in that ccp has the best desires for dust to succeede to the point it is a passion. Right now a few teams from eve online are helping with system design. For example plaetary conquest was an eve team feature.
Version 0.8 has many many things inbound because all the things ccp was unable to test on the test severs are no longer affected. They have been furoisly mad logging all the stresses the game has had on ccp's tranqulility severs.
While I have to agree at this time dust could be better and the lack of upcomming updates is leaving more questions than I could safely answer. (though devs talking to is at an all time high) . Time is their enemy as in they do not have enough of it. If you saw that skybox that we are not supposed to see yet you can get a somewat better appreciation for the game as that sky box is near final asset. |

I don't completely agree with Steadyhand, but this sentence seems to me as you must know something we don't.
The only thing confirmed by the Devs so far for 0.8 is PC. Other than that I have not seen any rock solid confirmation of anything else in 0.8. Just a lot of speculation and half promises.
If the Devs are giving you information that we, as a community, are not getting, then either you need to tell us, or they need to stop sharing with just you.
Even if you are just a CCP alt, the manner in which this is conducted is really screwed. Are CCP so incapable of scheduling to know what is or is not going to be in the next build?
The only reason to not elaborate on what you plan for the next build is because you are deeply afraid of making any commitments, because you don't have the confidence to complete it on time, or with what you promise.
If CCP has so little faith in their Dev team to stay on schedule, or not break the game, then why are we even here? Why should I invest anymore money into amateur hour in Iceland/Shanghai? Just because they are making promises of an interesting game?
The really sad thing is, that the committed Eve fans are still buying Merc packs right now. They still need to get their 30 day actives, and spend Aurum on passive boosters to not become disadvantaged.
They are essentially paying a subscription for the beta, and as long as that remains the case, CCP does not need to advance any further. They will have no incentive for pushing forward as long as they are getting their small sliver of reliable income.
So if you want this game to move forward, show CCP that they don't deserve more of your money until they can start to get onto a committed schedule, and actually deliver.

Its not the DEVs that people have issues with, its the marketing team. The DEV team has been quite active on the forums and relaying information that they are allowed to give out. On the other hand, the marketing of this game has been awful at best. SOONGäó has been the biggest botch in customer communication in a long time. Its the proverbial carrot dangling in front of you that you will never get.
Hell, even if they said that the next build would be an April/May timeframe, people would at least calm down a little since they know it will come in a certain slot. God help CCP if they announce a Summer launch for the build at Fanfest because you will see people walk away in droves as they are already tired of the vague hype.

I fully agree its marketing's fault but they're only doing it to get money for the company... There is still a faction warfare update on the way though, blog should be out in the month along with possible other blogs such as the map guys doing a blog on game types and going beyond the clone out and launcher games, and they will hit lightly on map design during that. |

They know the schedule, just that way scrum works is mostly alot of planning and researching first then sprinting like a mad rabbit getting away from a Cheetah.
