I will save you some effort, because I am a nice guy and all, no planets outside the FW regions even have districts on them, so no need to go looking. :P
And now, time to wander off into the sunset! I assume by this you mean no planets in lowsec outside the FW regions, since Gallente hisec is full of them. My relatives keep asking about fighting in Sinq Laison because they see districts when they do Planetary Interaction: http://imgur.com/1ROcf0LEven so, I appreciate the hint that the districts we are looking for might not be deployed yet. Did you ever go back and look at that Territorial Warfare thread again? Correct, we seeded the high sec planets with districts as well. Been focused on the dev blog feedback thread.
Silly me... I just realized that Sinq Laison has 14 temperate planets in non-FW lowsec and is directly adjacent to all four empires' main regions (Domain, Metropolis, The Forge).

Perhaps I should tell my relatives in Mirilene to tool up their production of infantry-related stuff. |

In Eve, whoever controls an outpost can set the name. Can we name districts? Forget districts 1 through 5. How about: Freedom's Landing Brown sinkhole of Kitten Doom Cloneslayer Gulch The Kingdom of Bob and This is Not the District You're Looking For!

Out of sheer curiosity if based on recent events why not something up in Caldari/Gallente space? |

The only G/C regions that fit the criteria (that we've been given) are Sinq, Lonetrek, and The Forge. The others have too much FW and not enough non-FW lowsec. Lonetrek and The Forge have the minimum number of lowsec temperates, Sinq has a few more, but still it'd be tight. The appropriate Caldari regions are also fairly remote from the Amarr and Minmatar.
Mind you, I'd be happy to have it be Sinq. That's where most of my toons live. The problem is that it would require Roden to listen to Kyraella Idama and that's never gonna happen.
That sends us back into Amarr/Minmatar space.
In Minnie space, only Molden Heath has enough non-FW temperates and it's in the rump end of nowhere.
In terms of Amarr space- Genesis is the best fit overall, followed by Aridia, Derelik, and Khanid. Those last three are too remote from the other empires to make a good test bed, though.
So, unless the plan is to stick the mercs so far out that only corps friendly to one faction can get OBs, the region has to be Genesis (~40 planets) or Sinq Laison (~15 planets). Or it could be in "Pirate Paradise" with a Genolution station in "Bojopolis".
BTW, if it IS Sinq, where should I send the big hobbit foot slippers for you to wear during videocasts? |

Last I heard out of devland, it was not planned for but being taken under consideration for some possible testing or something down the road. |

Foxfour Because recent events and exclimations by the leaders of those regions, kinda want us dead. The Empress has already released a statement welcomeing any and all Bunnies into the region. It could be minmitar, but unlikely as the tribes are always fighting each other, another group claiming territory wouldn't be welcome.
thus Amarr systems, or khanid kingdom would be the ideal areas.

It seems as if it cannot be Ardia as i suspected, there are 75 temperate planets.
75*5 = 375 =! 250 no dice.
To be honest all roads are pointing towards genesis. there is enough contiguous lowsec compared to other regions, it is centrally located in eve and to the current storyline, and it has genolution stations. |

That is if they don't add another region entirely, which is very much a significant possibility given the population density growth in eve and prior precedents of adding space with new features (Black Rise with FW, wormhole space for Apocrypha)
We are not adding a new region for this. :) |

I had 3 in my mind for it back when it was announced: - Jove #1 - Genesis #2 (launch at the birthday of EVE, at the birthplace of EVE) - The region next to Amarr (naguton, shajarleg...) #3
The hint was given towards FW space. Jove space was ruled out. That should cut some of it off, is Genesis a FW region? |

Genesis is NOT a FW region. It is primarily controlled by CONCORD with a few random others including Interbus. |

Domain.
Domain is the "main" region of the Amarr empire. It does have plenty of non-FW lowsec...
Actually, looking at the map, Domain is probably the second best-connected region after Sinq Laison. It just lacks a direct link to Minmatar space.
I might have to bump that to the top of my speculation list.

CCP FoxFour wrote: To do orbital bombardment for factional warfare battles yes, you need to be in FW.
To do orbital bombardment for planetary conquest battles, that is corporations fighting to own districts, you need to be in the corporation or alliance.
So actually, the hint is that we are looking for non-FW space for Planetary Conquest, as FW space will still be used for FW battles. |

My guess is still Aridia as the front runner, Molden Heath as a second and maybe Genesis due to its location and being somewhat neutral due to CONCORD. |

Yeah, he was telling me to stop poking around in lowsec looking for districts because the FW districts are the only lowsec ones they've created so far. They needed those for the current (old) corp battle mechanic. |

We know they are trolling us... *ahem* "Customer Interaction"ing us.
The question is how much.
They've been pretty consistent on a few things- 250 districts, lowsec, non-FW. Other than that, it's all speculation.
Of course, somewhere in this thread the right answer has probably appeared.
For all I know, the devs haven't decided yet and they're letting us do all the work by being coy and acting like there's a big secret. |
