It seems as if it cannot be Ardia as i suspected, there are 75 temperate planets.
75*5 = 375 =! 250 no dice.
To be honest all roads are pointing towards genesis. there is enough contiguous lowsec compared to other regions, it is centrally located in eve and to the current storyline, and it has genolution stations. |

Now if we just could get into test server, that CCP uses, and see the population distribution in systems... We can, and I did. Thanks to your "dope slap" upside my head... I found them. THE FIRST REGION IS MOLDEN HEATH. http://i.imgur.com/AgSGqpz.jpg

This almost seems too easy, its obvious to check the test server and the devs must know the playerbase would check it. I see three options.
- They intend to announce the region before the patch anyways.
- It really is Molden Heath and the DUST devs pulled a Tyrannis level screw up.
- The devs are trolling us and knew people would look on Sisi, they are testing it in Molden Heath but it will change to another region on release. On that day the tears will blot out the sun.

I was actually, and I know this coming from me is hard to believe, responding honestly to Rubico. I would like to know why he thinks it is a "Tyrannis" level screw up and I was honest, it takes us no effort to change the region.
It was hyperbole, Tyrannis was much worse.
1. A few weeks before Tyrannis, devs listed the production tree and production ratios for PI including the various trade goods that at that time were still being sold by NPCs at an infinite quantity on Tranquility. The price for these trade goods on market was extremely low compared to the effort cost of producing them on planets. Players obviously stockpiled these during the runup to the patch. This has resulted in some of the goods being worthless to extract or manufacture on planets due to the depressed price. Three years later the market has still yet to recover on some items, planetary vehicles and guidance systems being examples.
2. After Tyrannis the NPC sell orders for structures were left up in order to allow the PI market to stabilize before they took on the brunt of production of these goods. Players figured out that you can reprocess these NPC sold goods, then use their components to build other structures (like stations) at a vastly reduced cost. Players bought, reprocessed, and built outposts like mad and this resulted in a large proliferation of stations in 0.0.
If it is Molden Heath it will give those who have done their homework a head start at figuring out and securing the best possible planets. The problem with this is that If a large coordinated alliance can figure out these advantageous planets they can drop genolution packs on every district within that stronghold 30 seconds after the server comes up preventing anyone else from doing the same, and with the cost of genolution packs at 80m now it might be prohibitive to kick them out with them. |
