Bud I have been playing Eve Online since 2003 and it is STILL improving and changing year to year. Expect to see the same thing with Dust only (hopefully) quicker.
CCP is not perfect by any means and us veterans have had a long love/hate relationship with them from BoB-Gate to the Monocle Debacle but I do know this, they LOVE their IP, they are players themselves and want to see Eve continue to grow and become better.
I am fairly new to Dust and have been enjoying it as I generally don't play FPS's online against people, mainly because of the immature behavior attributed to FPS/console players.
I am mainly frustrated with myself as I am learning the maps and with the lack of any kind of teamwork whatsoever.
The SP gain even with active and passive boosters seems dreadfully slow. With an average of 5k SP per Ambush match (little higher for Skirmish but not much) it is gonna take me FOREVER to get anywhere.
So if you are bored, then start a new dropsuit build, or work on your piloting, cus I KNOW you aren't maxed out on everything. |

Oh and that there will also be no aurum reset just adds another minus to the list. I really like Dust but its just a shame that it rots and rots with no changes.
Why is it a shame there isn't going to be another Aurum reset, do you actually mean SP?
Also, just hang in there alright, because Dust will be just like EVE with updates. I know as it is for a lot of people, that it's gotten crazy boring and there are only so many bugs until they are all discovered or at least most within a certain build.
People need to just hang in there, it will get better, much better. There might be different types of ammo, weapon customization, map generation based on installations and player placed as well, many different options for weapons in each category, what CCP has planned for this game is amazing and I'll wait, patiently, it'll just be time. (This goes for everyone) I see EVE and play EVE and therefor I will not lose hope on Dust.
We are up for a new build, should hopefully be soon, but like I said, I'll wait because when it comes, it'll be awesome, it's CCP damn it! |

Correct. If you just switch the SP system so you earn 5 SP for every warpoint and 1 SP for every second you have pretty much fixed the AFKing problem. Now good players will actually play the game max out their SP fast and then do other things (or keep playing). Meanwhile if you try to AFK farm getting 1500 SP in a match is probably not worth all the bother and instead if they play it they would have gotten 11,500.....that only means it would take ~19 games total to max out your SP in stead of the current 30ish. |

I think patience might be the key word, and believe me, I can be patient like a hungry aligator, the only thing which drives me crazy is being left in the dark. I think I don't want to much, all I want is like I said before, Informations, and I think this is what the playerbase truly needs. I don't want to read Soon anymore. Maybe Soon im rolling my own protosuit in Real life, is this the same soon which I read here this often or is it another soon? I also trust CCP alot, but I think alot of people have patience just till a decent degree, I won't stop playing Dust anytime soon, but at least it would be nice to get some informations what is going on. Nobody of us wants to spy CCP to create another Version of Dust( which also would be a ridiculous project btw) and where not living in the cold war anymore. So I really don't understand this lack of information.

I never liked CoD. I played a LOT of mag, over 3 years worth.
The skirmish objectives are a pointless side obstacle to what is really a larger KDR fest than ambush.
That's all I really have to say anymore :\ I played several games tonight, every single one had 1 team launch an early LAV rush to the other side's first objective, and the KDR fest ensued. It has been dominance from the first minute of the game, and the remaining players simply snipe each other for the duration of the game timer...
Or they leave <_< I've been thrown into several battles where the map is already completely red, and the blue dots are all perched for the cold war snipe off... Something should be done about that... Why does it join me to a game that is over before I can even spawn once?
This game needs a complete overhaul. I'm really surprised this is what they've released with their open beta <_<
I play this game now only to grind sp (one of the most annoying grinds of all games I've played) for a future build where the game CCP has really been working on replaces current dust entirely...
Or maybe I'll just go back to strategy pvp games, and leave the cartoon arcade shooters to the CoD fans.
this is a beta. you're not supposed to be grinding.

Leave for a month or two, come back. You'll even have earned 3 million sp by then without playing so win/win. No one will blame you for getting tired of testing the watered down battle system that dust is going to use.
You do know this game is intended to play like savage right? Half fps half rts? That's nothing like COD. I totally agree people expect the best most perfect thing ever but its only a beta there is going to be complaints you just can't ***** cause you know why theres problems

I don't know, but I can't find any post here saying they axpect a perfect game. Maybe there are some people out there thinking like that, but there are also some people out there thinking bill gates spies on them. In general people just want to see at least some changes. Because the Beta excuse won't work forever. |

you hit the nail on the head some where in there, in CCPs push to speed the pace of combat its turned into who can out mob the other team, for both skirmish and ambush, tactics be damned. Admittedly the more frequent use of drop uplinks have changed the game a little, but I would like to see the return of the spread out five point maps, skirmish1.0, and even the E3 skirmish.
Still more game modes need to be pushed, and ccp has to stop pushing constant large scale fights and focus on incentivising many smaller fights in a row with the occasional bottle neck into large scale combat, return rewards for damage done(ie return the wp for damaging and reduce the kill bonus on hardened targets just add a timer and diminishing returns on a single target to prevent farming),
in short return a sense of progress to the game instead of massive spamming. right now you just rush the field until you red line some one, in E3 skirmish you had to fight from a disadvantage to victory and this lead to a lot of taking time for less blunt force stratagy and more thrust parry riposte tactics that made the game so much more interesting, all of this culminating in the big push toward the end to ensure the survival of your MCC. In skirm1.0 you again fought from your back and had to out maneuver and out position your opponents, in a map that was little bigger then the cities we fight in now(read more effective use of space), with a false climax at the last tower and another build up and climax as you push into the city on the second part of the map.
the instant ramp up of the current maps just feels like a slug fest that if you are not actively part of you are losing for your team. All the vaunted tactics in this game just serve to feed into that pointless slug fest and add no real substance to the game other then a momentary distraction.
now I know some of you are going to say that I am looking at the past with rose colored glasses, I remember the countless and endless redlines, but that isn't what I am QQing about, I want a game that is more then just a stomp, more then just a FPS quicky.
What I want is a match that has some substance and tactics to it, and while like now I enjoy the occasional ambush, I will always enjoy the occasional skirmish as it is now. but what I really want is some more dynamic battle fields that require multiple concurrent tactics with many fights and not just one mob.
.....and some other stuff one day ill put together that list Ive been meaning to make |
