I have noticed in several games players spawning onto the map and just standing there with no gun in hand in a position of attention the way we look on the warbarge etc.

Ditto here, I did wait to see what would happen, I had a squad of three and 2 of us managed to finally get a game screen and spawn to game but, we had no weapons and even changing at a supply depot you were still left without a weapon.



Trying a hard reset now to see how many games I get before this happens again, I managed 5 before this first appeared today.

Out of curiosity what suit types were you using I have seen 5 players with this bug now and coincidentally all 5 were assault so either when this bug happens you spawn in the default assault suit (from warbarge and merc quarters if you have no favourite set.) Or it only happens to assaulters.

This has also just happened to me.

It's been fine in previous games. I never had this before the update we downloaded on 15/03/2013.

After patching, i played several games of all game types with no problems, but squadmates would tell me theyv'e blackscreened. At first it seemed to only happen to people spawning on the MCC in skirmish, but i've since found it's happening elsewhere.

It just happened to me on Ambush OMS, i was spawning with a freefit Assault - Frontline fit on a logi character.

What i found was that i could bring up the neocom, the map and the team screen.

If i pressed dpad down to bring up the map, followed by dpad up to bring up the team sheet, then cancelled out of both, i could then see again.

Once i could see i tested a bit..

Firstly holding R2 showed no equipment or guns at all. So firing obviously did nothing.

I could walk and crouch and jump, but i couldn't sprint.

I found a supply depo drop so i tried to hack it. It let me hack it and take it over.

Then i accessed the depo which showed me my fittings, i tried a few different fittings but they would not equip, each time i remained without guns and equipment.

I also could bring up the vehicle menu with dpad right, i selected to bring in the free fit LAV. However, on selecting it, nothing happened, no request was made.

That's about all i managed to test.. i also tried suiciding a few times from the Neocom to respawn and each time i was black screened again.

I have not had this problem previously, nor have i got this problem on other games or media on the ps3. This is soley down to Dust 514, due to the patch today.

It sounds to me like you actually introduced the bug while trying to fix the fittings problem.

EDIT: Also, my PS3 is the original 60GB model with the various sdcard ports etc.. on the front. I'm also using HDMI as a connection with a Samsung UE26EH4000 26in HD Ready TV

Do you experience this problem with any other game? Or with any other HDMI equipment attached to your TV? If so, then I would guess it's a problem with your hardware.

If it's only a DUST problem, do you see any of the game at all? Do you get past the MOVE warning screens?

If you do not see the startup videos, try logging out from PSN before starting the game. When you then start the game, do you get asked to sign in again? (The problem is unrelated to PSN, this test just helps me understand better if the program gets stuck somewhere really early)

Finally, what resolution is your TV using?

My brother just got home and jumped on the game. He had this happen to him where the screen went black and then his TV told him he had no signal which forced him to restart the PS3.

The IMPORTANT thing to note: This occured between the start of the game and when it forces you to sign into the PSN. so THIS OCCURED BEFORE HE DOWNLOADED THE LATEST UPDATE.

Yeah, different glitch than the one described in this thread. There is no loss of signal to the TV, and the game runs all the way to an actual match.

The game is running during the match even, you just can't actually play the match...

So Dust 514 was working fine for a few days. Today I go to start the game up, and my tv loses signal from my PS3 and never gets it back. When I am in my PS home menu, everything works just fine, but when I start D514, I get the black screen of death.

For a little bit of background, my PS3 is quite old and I have been getting random flicker and cut outs. I switched to a new HDMI cable which seems to have reduced that significantly. When I would start up D514 the last two days I would lose signal for one moment, then it would return and the game would run great. Now the signal just doesn't return.

Is this a problem with Dust or my PS3?

Played in a skermish- selected character then spawned into black screen. Then I can to map and its normal. Thats when I have to commit suicide. Then after respawning I hit the black screen again. As well as 3 others of my squad mates.
We left the match and joined another skermish and hit the black screen again.

New update is the problem

I re-installed game data and it has not happened since, 8 matches later and were all good. Hotfix
