its one thing to be excited about a new patch since an increase to said feature or a new implementation is new, but being critical of it before seeing the extent to which it affects game play is another.

for all we know, the changes CCP made could be so minute that we are playing the same thing or it could be the other way around.

CCP is known for not wasting their time tho, when they have patches they usually pack them with goodies. This is really the only thing fueling my excitement for a bunch of the stuff. My tanks got nerfed, but im still excited cause i think it'll make the cogs mesh better in the end.

Either way, i just wanna play the new patch.

i agree with you on one aspect, but disagree with you on another.....consider my point omni.....

#1 - yes, more difficulty arises from faster movement speeds.

#2 - in most games where the only thing that matters to win a match is to kill the enemy faster than the other team, this is a very legitimate and safe way to manipulate gameplay. Dust is a bit more complex than that tho with objectives and a higher base requirement of teamwork. I feel those matter a lot more than in most games and having a good team with comms will have a very profound effect on who is considered good. Im speaking of meta game and skirmish here. Ambush and the arena are outside of my points.

I think it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

In my opinion, this little effect is likely aimed at aiding Heavies and giving them some more purpose. After all, they buffed the HMG a bit but didn't really change the damage (at least from what I've read). It's also likely to discourage strafing even further.

At any rate, I certainly hope they add more cover to the game if they're going to keep going down this road. This slow down effect seems eerily reminiscent to the Suppression effect from BF3, and that would be annoying if we're stuck with wide open spaces again.

Also understand that debating movements speeds is almost pointless since with the implementation of EW someone will be able to just throw a webifier at you and stop you from moving in the first place. I believe CCP has also stated they want to implement differences in gravity for different planets in the future. (Cant give you a link, srry)

You can have the greatest communication in the world, but if you can't shoot **** you lose it's been proven time and time again. Further more there is nothing complex about objective based game modes where you press "O" to hack a point and wait for it to turn to your favor.

very fair points there, but we havent seen the map generator yet, so we have no idea how that will play out. if it sucks in the future, ill also be asking for more buildings and such. On the other side of that, you cant simply expect that you wont have to live with the consequences of your decisions.....why are you sprinting across open territory for long periods of time? Your certainly not the chosen one here who can do what he wants without dealing with the fact maybe someone on the other team is able to take advantage of your risks....

because that is a risk, a big one.

im tired of trying to debate things with you proto when you ignore the changes that will be coming in the future before release. Also, im not trying to say teamwork should trump basic gun skills. Give me some credit, ive played a game before lol.

well, if they end up only affecting vehicles youll be happy then. simple fact of the matter is webifiers are an integral part of EW, which is an integral part of what CCp is trying to do.

New patch is progress, and also highlights fixes. Being negative about something you have yet to experience is completely different than being excited to try out new toys.

 I hope so.

As for wide open spaces, I think that's what vehicles are for. LAVs and dropships can insert a squad at an advantageous position, and tanks are essentially moving cover.

I also hope they add some form of visual cover, whether it's smoke or whatever.

Fix'd to point out the irony.

He has the right to be negative if he wants to, as you have the right to cream your pants with the new gear.
