so i have the best part of 13million skill points & the best gear for everything in my assault class build. unfortunately now all my hard work and planning was for nothing as the money earned from every game i play does not cover the cost of my fitting of my first life. is this how ccp plan to force ps3 players to work for eve players? i dont want to work for eve players EVER! does any body know how the cash system will work on release for those of us who cant be bothered with the eve crap? surely as the isk says its contribution based at the very least you should get the value of your fitting back for each life you spend in battles. this morning i went 22-1 & hacked multiple objectives but only earned 291k isk my suit costs slightly more than that when its full of modules & equipment how is this in any way fair isk distribution? i'm having a bit of a rant here so apologies for that but i think its a fair point, will ps3 players be forced to play for eve guys in order to use the equipment unlocks that WE have earned because if thats the case i officially declare myself out right now. |

Nope, in Dust you're not supposed to be running around in Proto gear only in public matches.

I know in Most PS3 FPS its like that, but not this one :) i believe that there will be high sec games that wont offer as much as a reward as some of the eve corporations.
But you will get isk from salvage/loot from other players but dont know how this will balance out the contract reward
and btw i did read your post just couldnt be bothered to deal with the moaning :) |

Dont worry too much about prices and rewards at the moment. That is all bound to change specially when the market joins the whole Universe.
ISK rewards will depend on many factors. However if you do not want to work for an EVE player you don't have to. You can sell your services to Dust Corps as well, for whatever amount you think it is right, if they agree then you should be able to afford your equipment.
Remember after all you are a Mercenary. Your equipment depends on the contracts you take, your contracts depend on demand for your services.
Also if you have deep pockets you can buy AUR items :)

You can use whatever gear you want, but don't expect to not lose money doing so in public matches.
Besides I don't think you have to be in a corp to be able to accept contracts from eve players?
Finally, this game isn't much like any other games. Get used to it.

a sensible answer... thank you.
are there any plans to up the cash for those of us good enough to have the best things already? it is making testing the best gear almost impossible when the cost of your fist life is more than the battle reward in isk. |

And with that mentality how far do you expect you'll get when this game is released.
The whole point of the economy of this game is that you essentially have to manage you personal funds. The great thing about this, is that it (in essence) deals a big blow to the "spare time = winning" trend that follows most games with any hint of an MMO.
This makes the game so much more versatile, and means that you will have a wide variety of loadouts running around.
"l33t" loadouts should be damn expensive, perhaps you should take better care of it rather than just running into scenarios that you have little-no chance of being successful.
The financial aspect of the game is one of the things that I am really looking forward to, and I'll be really disappointed if costs are reduced simply because you (and others with the same approach) cannot grasp the basic concept of managing your money. |

i agree totally. it seems as though people want stuff handed to them because its a game. well fortunately this game gives a bigger aspect of that meaning anybody can have no life play and rack up isk from 100 games when a person who actually is a good player and rack up isk in 1 game that your 100 games equal meaning either get better or dont play. i mean yes its beta but when live goes up what you gonna do with 100 good players go against your l33t suits that cost you mad isk. get mad and rage quit. in aspect i ain't a good player but im average i feel. i have to pay out the butt for stuff just like you just i keep my mind open about who i go against and what im willing to sacrifice before i hop into a battle of players that are organized or using alot of vehicles. its called strategy and money watching. its a game that is you funding or when eve gets broguht the eve players funding you. so if you blow all your provisions your corp gives what do you think is gonna happen. you will obviously be released from your contract with yur corp because you want l33t equipment. think man before you complain |

get better at the game? also dont expect to be able to use top end gear in hisec matches u wont be able to fund it. Seeing as u cant even fund it with 4x rewards for u to want to use proto gear often upon release u might wanna find urself a corp that plans to take on contracts in FW and nullsec |

That's what I want to know. I think the OP is over-exaggerating his losses for one suit. I lose 300k ISK when my Marauder Tank blows up, and I doubt very much one full proto outfit of any type costs as much as a Marauder.
My Proto Logistics Outfit has the potential to be around 100k when the suit is maxed out.
Logistics vk.0 = 58000 Proto Assault Rifle = 12000 4 Complex High Powered Modules = 6500 4 Complex Low Powered Modules = 5000 Proto Drop Uplink = 11000 Proto NanoHives = 10000 Proto Repair Tool = 10000 Proto Nanoinjector = 10000 Grenades = 500
That's a little over 120k, and I very much doubt that a Full Proto Assault Dropsuit can come close to what a Full Proto Logistics costs. |

I dont know what your problem is. I die about 3-4 times a game on a bad day. Also its called saving up your money. I could die multiple times, I may lose a profit but I dont have to worry since I have over 3 mil ISK :).
Also if you did that good every game then I doubt you would even need to worry about ISK. |

Sorry, but I call BS on that. Like I pointed out in an earlier post, a full proto logistics suit with all complex mods and equipment (that's 4 of each), a proto AR and grenades costs in the neighbourhood of 120k ISK. There is no way that your Proto Assault suit comes close to that, let alone the cost of a fully fitted marauder. |
