And with that mentality how far do you expect you'll get when this game is released.
The whole point of the economy of this game is that you essentially have to manage you personal funds. The great thing about this, is that it (in essence) deals a big blow to the "spare time = winning" trend that follows most games with any hint of an MMO.
This makes the game so much more versatile, and means that you will have a wide variety of loadouts running around.
"l33t" loadouts should be damn expensive, perhaps you should take better care of it rather than just running into scenarios that you have little-no chance of being successful.
The financial aspect of the game is one of the things that I am really looking forward to, and I'll be really disappointed if costs are reduced simply because you (and others with the same approach) cannot grasp the basic concept of managing your money. |

Kind of ironic really...
Aren't you assuming/ demanding that the game should reward you for the length of time that you have been playing? |

The Dev's answer (albeit correct) does not mean that you will at least get the cost for your deaths back.
There will be contracts that are profitable, and some that are not. I have no doubt that the large Corporations will have a slush fund of substantial amounts of ISK reserved for the sole purpose of defending their territory.
What we are trying to get you to understand, is that it is ultimately your decisions that will determine whether or not you profit.
Something's a little inconsistent here:
Barnes Almighty wrote:this morning i went 22-1 & hacked multiple objectives but only earned 291k isk my suit costs slightly more than that when its full of modules & equipment how is this in any way fair isk distribution?.
Barnes Almighty wrote:3 million isk will buy about 40 fits of my suit dude it dont go far, i bought 100 fittings outright & nearly bankrupted myself & now if i die 1 time or more in a game i'm losing money.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but 40 x 291,000 = 11,640,000
If we go by your 2nd post alone, that means that your loadout actually costs in the region of 75,000 ISK. You coult therefore die 3 times and still be in profit (considering you died 1 time that game you were OK).
However if we're talking about tanks (which I can only assume), then that is a totally different kettle of fish...
The game is not designed to allow you to spawm multiple tanks without any financial penalites.

The thing you don't understand is, there are people here who are aware of the cost, and they are calling your bluff.
Someone even went as far as to draft a cost for a maxxed logistics suit (which is the MOST expensive in terms of kitting out.
BorrowedTime TM wrote:Daddrobit wrote:Might I ask what in the actual **** do you wear that amounts to 300k isk per death? Are you including a proto suit inside a Sagaris being crushed by a Prometheus while being OB'd by yourself??? That's what I want to know. I think the OP is over-exaggerating his losses for one suit. I lose 300k ISK when my Marauder Tank blows up, and I doubt very much one full proto outfit of any type costs as much as a Marauder. My Proto Logistics Outfit has the potential to be around 100k when the suit is maxed out. Logistics vk.0 = 58000 Proto Assault Rifle = 12000 4 Complex High Powered Modules = 6500 4 Complex Low Powered Modules = 5000 Proto Drop Uplink = 11000 Proto NanoHives = 10000 Proto Repair Tool = 10000 Proto Nanoinjector = 10000 Grenades = 500 That's a little over 120k, and I very much doubt that a Full Proto Assault Dropsuit can come close to what a Full Proto Logistics costs.
From memory, those figures look pretty accurate (as I wanted to estimate the cost of a logi suit for future reference). So unless you're paying completely different prices to everyone else, then you cannot simply get a price of over 290k ISK for a dropsuit loadout (and an Assoult loadout at that). |

OK you said that you went 22 - 1 and got 291k ISK. Above it states that your loadout costs 123k So let do a little Maths. ISK earned 291k Fitting Cost 123k Earnings to cost ratio 2.37 Means that you can die 2.37 times before you are loosing money simples. You need to learn how to do Maths!
Psst, you aiming at the wrong Guy! |

When's the next bus to noob school? You need to just be aware of your surroundings. The biggest mistake I see people make is just running out in the middle of the open. Run from cover to cover but don't stop moving. If you see a tank, and you're not anti vehicle, get the hell out. If you're engaging more than two people, stay cautious and make sure you have an exit from the firefight. Staying alive isn't just about having better gun game than the other person, it's more about knowing what is happening around you at all times and adjusting your position and playstyle to fit that situation.
+1 to this!
This is what alot of people seem to not grasp when going from high paced FPS such as CoD, to larger scale FPS games.
The other thing you have to bear in mind is that your health does not regenerate automatically unlike the majority of FPS games around. |
