I've had stupid long queues (hundreds of days) on some of my accounts and when they lapse, they don't make it much past the lapse.
When we had 24 hour queues I have lapsed and had 2 week skills queued and remain unfinished despite lapsing for 1-2 months

Unlimited skill queue To help people temporarily lacking access to an EVE client and generally remove annoyance, in Phoebe you will be able to construct and start training skill queues of unlimited time length. Trial accounts will still have a 24 hour queue limitation. This change will be live on Singularity along with a feedback thread next week.
PS: My Eve Droid app draws CREST API information directly from CCP's Tranquility Live server. So what I am seeing is what I am getting.

deezy dabest wrote:Maken Tosch wrote: Catch-22 in that statement.
No it is not a catch 22 at all. CCP is not going to spend millions of dollars on making the switch when they can sit around here on PS3, spending little money on a skeleton crew and depart fools from their money at what seems to be a rapidly expanding pace. In the memo about Incarna he says: Quote:Currently we are seeing very predictable feedback on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. What exactly are we "doing" by sitting here pumping money into a dead console that we all say we want to get off of? Obviously CCP is simply realizing that they are free to go crazy with the lines of thinking that went caused such an uprising in Incarna. Why is it that no one is even willing to ***** about the fact that CCP is attempting to charge well over $1000 for the cool down on the warbarge just to get 1% more damage?
I don't want to argue semantics here, but for the record, Catch-22 refers to an situation that is almost, if not definitely, impossible to get out of. The term "Catch-22" was coined by a book of said title.
You see, someone holding off spending money on CCP's product (Dust 514 in this case) in the hopes of CCP one day improving or maybe porting said product to the PS4 or maybe PC, runs the risk of having that plan backfire on them. CCP would only see this in one of two ways...
1. As a warning from the players to the company that the game needs to move on and thus they do go ahead and port it.
or...
2. As a sign that the game is failing that Dust 514, just like World of Darkness, will be cancelled and shelved forever.
This is where Catch-22 comes in. Porting Dust 514 to the next platform costs CCP money. They need money to do this. This endeavor will not likely come cheap. It is already said by CCP that Dust is making a profit right now, but by how much? Probably not much at all. It's likely to be scraping by as we speak. So will the future revenue be enough to at least break even after the investment in porting the game over to the next platform? We don't know. So by cutting off CCP of your money, CCP Rattati might not be able to convince CEO Hilmar to port Dust 514 if the revenue for Dust is not so good.
Some people here will not spend more money on this game unless CCP ports Dust 514 but CCP needs money to do so.
PS: That part of about CCP saying "look at what our players do and less of what they say" is what pissed off a lot of the Eve Online playerbase. Just ask the Eve Online players.
PPS: I was there during the Jita Riots of 2011.

Right, having an unlimited queue and having your queue run without limit are two different things.
You will cease accumulating skillpoints 36-72 hours after lapsing. This, however, will not affect your queue being unlimited. The queue itself will remain queued, it will not however progress beyond roughly 3 days after your account lapses.
I have had EveMon tell me that I was completing skills when in fact, I was not.
EDIT: Think of it like this, what is the point of keeping an account active if you can queue up three years of skills and come back to a Titan pilot with no more than two months cash expenditure?

Clearly the majority of the playerbase would love a next gen DUST 514 or hell even a port to better technology so that we may actually see the true potential for the game.
I love DUST 514, the scary thing is I'm not even 100% sure why. But I know we would all love a new DUST. The reason we love this game so much is because there isn't just one thing we love about it. The idea for this game runs deep and multifaceted. An economy, hierarchy, team work, a +50 kill points that reward us for our tactical play and brute force at times, variety of races/suits/weapons/technology/suit bonuses. All these contribute to an amazing IDEA for a game. However, lately, I've been finding this game less appealing for reasons that go beyond this cool idea. The problem is the technology. 500mb of RAM on a PS3 is worse than my Galaxy tab 1. And that thing is OLD. Problems such as lag, hit detection, and HORRIBLE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE matchmaking, have made this game stale with time. Hotfix FoxFour seems promising, but will fail to deliver a beautiful game for the reasons afore mentioned. This game needs to port to PC or PS4. Whichever one, they need to do it soon. This IDEA of a game has had enough BETA testing. Let's get the real game now, CCP. Quit slacking.

The problem is that it would take significant time to create a port to any other console / platform. This is because if you are going to take the time to do a port then you can be assured that the developers are going to try and make right on as many of the issues of the past as possible. DUST is full of development cheats and choices that the current development team (or at least CCP Rattati) is unhappy with. Anything they plan to do with a move to the next generation will likely include a massive refactor of the codebase that will take both time, effort, and plenty of planning and expectation of future development.
None of these processes are easy or quick, and will take -significant- development time. This means one of two things to the future of a port: either it happens "soon"(tm) and this is because they were working on it for a long time coming, or they see our messages and they begin work only now, at which point it will take a long period of time from now. (perhaps even more than a year depending on development resources, and how fundamental their refactor may have to be) In either case we won't see any actionable response on CCP about this matter.
The reason we won't see CCP talking about anything relating to a port (in concrete details) is because CCP has shifted fundamental policies on what they are willing to talk about or promise since events such as Incarna and the Rogue Wedding. The CCP that has weathered those events has taken the course of action to only talk about things that 1) They want Feedback on, or 2) Are about to come out. You may disagree or find issue with that policy, but you have to agree that it seems that is the course they are taking. In relation to a Port the decision to move it to any number of platforms is a very high level one, and not one they would put out for community feedback on. Thus, given their current policy, the only time CCP will speak of a port is when they are ready (or nearly so) to put it out for serious evaluation.
That all said, I bought a PS3 for DUST 514, and have yet to regret it. Should it move to PS4, I will likely do the same, and if it moves to PC then I am well prepared to receive it.

Pretty much this. Even if CCP were to start right now with porting Dust, I expect no less than a year before it is even ready. I say a year because we all know too well from Fanfest 2014 that they were already experimenting with a PC version for a while but that demo they showed was just on one map and one game mode. We didn't really see the full extent of its development and CCP MC Peanut was at least able to give us a glimpse of the new HUD layout which was in 3 dimensions rather than 2 dimensions because he and other CCP Devs found it to be more optimized and efficient compared to the 2 dimensional HUD we have on the PS3.
