Balance and Performance
Planetary Conquest being profitable while encouraging fighting. Customization.
More FW LOYALTY benefits. Discounts in the store, free skins after reaching "X" rank (And can only be worn if on or above that rank. Let the officers show some swag), and most importantly a CHOOSE DEPLOYMENT feature. It's hard to synchronize with EVE pilots because we zoom all over FW space. Allowing us to delegate teams to certain areas would be great. Imagine: Having actual MILITIA's that cover certain area's. When you queue up to fight, you fight in THAT area, doing attack or defense. Members in that area get benefits based on % land held and friendly capsuleers get bonus %LP for dropping OB's there. It might get more EVE people interested in Dust FW.
NPE. Seriously, just make a scripted tutorial. Teach them how to take points, drop links, switch suits, etc. I could probably write out a half-decent script for a tutorial in less than a day. I actually might do that now. These guys need to actually learn how to PLAY the game, not just how to make fits.
QoL. Always last on the list. Smooth things over when the core is fixed. I'm saving this entire post, but the "FW LOYALTY" portion is very much what I want for FW. Your ideas are interesting and I'll hold on to them. What are your thoughts on a War Hero SKIN that can only be fitted if you have X standing level or above with the faction? I would adore a War Hero skin. I'd also name them uniquely for each faction. You would choose frame size when earning it, and the others can then be purchased for additional LP. Warlord for the Minmatar. Pure white with Dark red splatter and emblems. Like Sev from Republic Commando (Who already looks like a Minmando) Justicar for the Amarr. I'm not sure how they would want it. Probably Gold with Silver accents. General for the Gallente. Ask Kirk, IDK. Commander for the Caldari. I actually love their Digital Camo and Navy Looks. Probably go with a Blue and Grey Digital Camo with Gold accents on the emblems. When you see these suits, you KNOW they're an FW Veteran, due to requiring 8 or High FW standing (Which is a lot of games. I managed to get to 8 after grinding through about 3 BPO's). You get the drift. I've also always wanted the ability to change station locations if you get to rank 10. Get my Caldari ass in Minmatar territory, I've earned it.
I'd love something like this and yes General would do Gallente just fine.

I was there when the idea of the game was announced. I supported the concept of the game. I wanted to play the game. I play the game. I like the game. I am concerned about the success of the game. I want the game to be playable by all rather than a select few. I don't think I need to jabber with my bros to improve said game. What more needs to be said?
Good post, I fully agree with you we mostly keep our fantasy jibber jabber in Corp comms, I am strongly against a CPM where their main focus is sitting about chatting about Dust, I would like to see at least one member with as much mud on their boots as average Dust activity playing public/FW/PC and especially so they can attempt to reach out to the players not speaking up.
You have the same view a lot of us did when Dust began, most are tired of holding onto hope
It's why I am concerned with the CPM choices, as a squad leader thats exactly how I am looking at CPM build-up, if we don't get the right mix of roles into the CPM it cannot be as effective as possible for us , in-game and on here.
Diplomats - Logistics - Veterans - New Players
For traits I feel it should be built from, and the players involved share and divide responsibiltiy between themselves so some of them post more content, some of them play/create more content and those who handle CCP diplomacy with them. It should be most important that we mix the CPM panel so we get the required traits and hopefully a few members who setup to be behind the communtiy, not just in words but in actual gameplay content and interaction internationally.

Thank you, CPM candidate for adding something to the discussion at hand at not derailing it with something off topic that concerns only yourself and a fraction of the community, a skype chat is just whats needed so you can brainstorm ideas from yoursleves and have minimal community input
Gameplay > Lore > Shiny dropsuits
A new thread for that is welcome, but I busted your balls so this would not become 10 pages of..
'OMG.. you are going to look soooo fabulous in FW tonight bae xxx'
Gameplay quality and how CPM can be involed in creating content is what matters, I'm not caring for any politics.. it seems past CPM elections have focused to much on that and the actual players suffer while they have their chats about the game. By creating content I do not mean only crafting theories but actually branching out and being involved with the game.

The only guys endorsed here are the ones loud enough to be noticed, why should I (or any Dust gamer) need to search to find the candidates for representing the communitiy?? I won't, 100's of others will not so this post is biased towards those who make a consistent mark both in game and on the forums, CPM need to step up community interaction a LOT.
It's nothing personal that I am being a d1ck about it, consider it a warm up for candidates because it is the exact behaviour they will be dealing with if elected, Community representetives should even care about what scrubs like me think I'm afraid..
And the guys endorsed by this living e-peen interect with players inside and outside of their groups so seem to make good choices, This post is a chance for CPM candidates to at least mention what mark they intend top leave on the game, I know none of them on a personal level, only by what I have seen from their actions within Dust514
- for PR purposes, I can add candidates prepared to give a reason why I should to the list.
- One main skill I am hoping appears in CPM is someone making an effort with non-english speaking natives - Council of Planetary Management, if it means so much to apply for, show us how you will interact within the game

These discussions could easily be on forums or even in-game channels while mercs play with a mix batch of players, can anybody name the main reason they are not ?? My answer is because no-one makes the effort for that interaction within Dust, I know several reasons why I can't blame mercs for that it's a lot of scrubs to get through to
What should be the first requirement for a CPM that is representing the communtiy ??
My money is on, them actually having a clue who/what they represent.

Abd I understand that, it's a big reason why candidates should really consider if they have the time for it all. The only way around it as I mentioned before, the CPM should be a suqad, providing various roles, not all need by in-game campaigners but without someone or more of the CPM dedicated to that, they are of no real use to the unspoken for players we have.

I agree wholeheartedly lol. I want a CPM (personally) who is now trying to push what we can do with Dust on the PS3, but also who I know advocates for more. Currently, I can't give all the feedback and ideas I want, because I have no idea how FW is, no idea how PC is, I don't even know how trading is done or what suits look like or anything...I am completely seperated from Dust, so the best I can do is confer on as many threads as possible to gain as much insight as possible.
I think you and Victor raised very great points. CPM can't be simply a popularity contest this time around, I don't want a year wasted, and luckily these canidates are ones that I feel are advancing the game. By the talking with Ripley's thread, or Talos, I see their insights far better than simply playing them in a pub match and them saying what I want to hear.
We all want Dust ported. Till that day however, how we can enrich this beautiful gem on PS3 is all we can do.
And my criteria for liking a post is so broad lol. I usually like if at least some part of your post is: Intuitive, funny, I agree with, you have no likes and raise a good dimension.
And I'm alone at the library right now listening to PC battles on Youtube and crying inside until I go to work so I have nothing to do but forum warrior and debate. *Raises glass* Continue la discussion :)

TheD is here for your amusmement , and your reply sums up the main reasons I am questioning CPM candidates. I have played the game from clueless adjusted starter fit blueberry noob to half-competent adjusted FC noob, meeting a lot of players in between the majority of them being in the lower bracket of skill/SP ranking and I have gained good sense of fighting with+against Corps internationally seeing different outlooks on the game and how it is adapted to around the world... If it wasn't for the gametime it would steal and my terrible diplomacy skills I'd consider CPM myself.. instead I'll take the safe route and grill those that think they can really speak for the communtiy they are so keen to represent |

Just my 2 cents. CPMs should lead!
I have not seen a CPM change the face of development because the development team is small and focused by CCP leadership. They may do crunching of numbers but other than that they just provide feedback. What I want from a CPM is for them to be the fing boots on the ground for CCP!
CCP needs to adopt a GM style of management for the game if they can't login. Make the CPMs lead from inside the game not the forums! Give the CPMs the ability to trigger the special missions\events section of the game and leverage that function. CCP needs to trust the CPMs with in game powers through those channels. CCP says they can't fight us, then recruit enough CPMs to fight for them! Without a presence in the game CCP is pulling levers and surprised when the community goes where they want with it.
That is why I vote for Sgt. Kirk is because out of all the candidates he is the only one I have seen organize masses of people, key part here, "He doesn't know" (Knocks out a lot of candidates there) into a single game mode for fun.
The CPMs aren't going to give us features, just express their view of the community and game to CCP. Lets give them a job in the game!

This is exactly right.
First impressions are very important. Look back at all the initial Dust reviews. Mediocre at best. Dust over-promised and made poor initial impressions, and it's still suffering from that.
A lot of the negative critique was valid, but looking back at the video's much of what everyone complained about no longer applies today; the game has really come a very long way since then. I think if Dust were released in 2012 as it is today then it would have fared so much better.
Which is why I see this is such a great opportunity right now for Dust. Through many ups and downs Dust has been quietly improving and upgrading since it's release, while people outside this community are barely aware Dust exists. With nearly zero hype to live up to Dust is poised to pounce on next-gem gamers like a tiger.
E3 doesn't scare me. Battlefront will be let down, Fallout will be great, but a single player game will never steal an online shooter community, PS2 seems to be popular, but lacks the larger persistent universe of New Eden, Battlefield, CoD, Killzone players are all weary of endless DLC packs, greedy monitization and one-year life spans of games etc.
Which is why we need to use the time we have on the PS3 to continue making this game better and better until a port finally happens.
Which is why I'm running for CPM2. I'm very optimistic about Dust and see so much potential, and I'd like to help in any way I can.

Yes there is still uncertainty about who will run, but the ones working hardest for it are noticable. I updated OP to set Pokey as a solid candidate, I think most of Dust will be hoping he can be the critic that can beat some sense into CCP

My thoughts exactly. You won my vote with one post! That is impressive.
