Glad to see I'm not the only one speaking out against campaigners and lacking faith in a CPM to actually benefit the game, Viktor Hadah makes a great post about some of the flaws with peoples ideals as they look toward gaining that position and it is something the playerbase should give extra thought before we spend another year wondering if the CPM has any intention on managing anything other than discussion when we nned players who stirve to make content representing Dust514 to CCP
Some may agree/disagree with encouraging votes but I barely know the mercs I'd suggest for CPM so I will just try to offer an unbiased opinion on those putting their names forward, hopefully this can be a constructive thread about who has what's needed and what they truly offer the playerbase in terms of hearing our views and adding content to Dust514.
- If a candidate offers nothing but the sound of their own words they are a poor choice. - A level of diplomacy is required for CPM, but that should not discourage anyone, focus on the game should be 1st - Dust needs the communtiy to stive to make the content, the door between CCP/Players is the CPM, they should lead this
From what I have seen (will update if potential candidates wish to state their intentions)
- Solid Candidates. Cross - Sound logic, welcoming in opening discussions a good speaker for the CPM Kevall - Leading the most well known corp backing NPE, providing feedback of that is essential Talos - Good idea's reminds me of the old days when dreamers still lurked the forums, CCP need that creativity
- Ones to consider Pokey - Another solid speaker and a good critic for both the community and CCP Breakin' Stuff - So many have claimed to try and be fixin' stuff I think it's time we tried something else Zaria - Experience at the end-game levels and amongst the best players in game
From the names mentioned I would still like to see more community activity IN-GAME, but they are all worthy of it if they dedicate to the task at hand and increase content for all mercenaries on Dust514 an our immersion with EVE. To any I have left out, actions speak louder than words. We need CPM to be more than a talkshow for what could have been.
My opinion means little in this, I am trying to communicate for those who play the game for what it is, and make the most of the content we have on offer. I'm happy to discuss this or add further explanations to my opinions.
Good luck to those hopeful of a CPM seat, just remember to get off your ass once in a while . 07 |

Same line as Talos, KAGEHOSI would add creativity that is lacking. Though I think Talos will be more concerned with the little details that make gameplay more immersive and rewarding which is bread and butter for a Dust merc |

I see activity from Cross+Talos often in battles, not so much from Pokey though he has good views and if he took on management of CPM could be a great asset. Mt main focus is gameplay activity and how CPM can benefit this.

I'll vote for anyone looking out for the little guy in dust' early beginning and small corner corps! Adding things to the game is nice, but if no one is here to play it, adding new things is for lulz?!
If we can, and yes we can, get new or lower level players more engaged in all aspects of gameplay, from trading, PC, etc., we can then begin adding content.... slowly.
However, the new playerbase, or rookie playerbase, must feel that even at lower tiers of gear and experience they have a shot if they use of teamwork. I think we can accomplish this by focusing more on rewards for hard work!
Higher isk and LP payout, not so noticeable that everyone gets rich, but a small percent at a time. No player on any pub team should be under paid for such an obvious team carry when the matchmaker fails him?! The amount of isk put out should never go unrewarded.
While PC, as a whole, is still being looked at. The CPM should be taking advantage of the situation, and pushing ideas to make that struggle worth it for even the smallest corp. As it stands now FW is worth more to me than a spot on the starmap?! If we want PC to be the ultimate pinnacle of gameplay let's give it a reason to be fought over so vigorously, other than war room writing material?!
We all know isk payouts for owning land is foolish, and a fail of epic proportion. However, receiving gear on a performance based tier level could be interesting, and rewarding in conjunction with the trading aspect of the game! I will get with others to put the idea pitch together, but for now overall receiving and fighting for resources is much more controllable than free isk.
As mercs I also feel the "mercing" aspect of the game, by certain individuals, image has been sullied?! Corp contracts could and should be more than just PC fights. A corp leader should be able to post public contracts in interest of the corp for other mercs to hit to gain isk. This will help eliminate the ringer problem, as you've given the ringer something to do! Small inexperienced corps can go get bloodied on raids for larger corps needing the extra assistance to weaken an area. Districts should be a quest, not a skirmish on drugs for ignored bragging in the war room?!
The CPM that pushes for content, not in the form of new weapons and modes, but in improving player experience is the one I'll vote for.

My list of priorities for CPM. In order. They need to push these criteria
Balance and Performance
Planetary Conquest being profitable while encouraging fighting. Customization.
More FW LOYALTY benefits. Discounts in the store, free skins after reaching "X" rank (And can only be worn if on or above that rank. Let the officers show some swag), and most importantly a CHOOSE DEPLOYMENT feature. It's hard to synchronize with EVE pilots because we zoom all over FW space. Allowing us to delegate teams to certain areas would be great. Imagine: Having actual MILITIA's that cover certain area's. When you queue up to fight, you fight in THAT area, doing attack or defense. Members in that area get benefits based on % land held and friendly capsuleers get bonus %LP for dropping OB's there. It might get more EVE people interested in Dust FW.
NPE. Seriously, just make a scripted tutorial. Teach them how to take points, drop links, switch suits, etc. I could probably write out a half-decent script for a tutorial in less than a day. I actually might do that now. These guys need to actually learn how to PLAY the game, not just how to make fits.
QoL. Always last on the list. Smooth things over when the core is fixed.
For those wondering why NPE isn't higher, I'll tell you why. We need to keep what players we have HERE. No use in prepping blues to stay when there isn't anything worth staying over. Work on making this a game more worth playing and investing in, and then work on getting blues to stay long enough to realize that there is so much more to Dust than ambush and skirmish.

I would like to see more candidates internationally as it is the entire communtiy the CPM need to address, but I am not seeing many mentioned interest from EU/Asia/SA so I cannot judge though I can say all of these guys know how the game is played and add another dimension to battles which is good content, so CPM interaction internationally is a must have abilty I think.
Anyone that is considering it should certainly think about what they could offer and if they can dedicate time to CPM+Dust

I would adore a War Hero skin. I'd also name them uniquely for each faction. You would choose frame size when earning it, and the others can then be purchased for additional LP.
Warlord for the Minmatar. Pure white with Dark red splatter and emblems. Like Sev from Republic Commando (Who already looks like a Minmando)
Justicar for the Amarr. I'm not sure how they would want it. Probably Gold with Silver accents.
General for the Gallente. Ask Kirk, IDK.
Commander for the Caldari. I actually love their Digital Camo and Navy Looks. Probably go with a Blue and Grey Digital Camo with Gold accents on the emblems.
When you see these suits, you KNOW they're an FW Veteran, due to requiring 8 or High FW standing (Which is a lot of games. I managed to get to 8 after grinding through about 3 BPO's).
You get the drift. I've also always wanted the ability to change station locations if you get to rank 10. Get my Caldari ass in Minmatar territory, I've earned it.

I would like some kind of easily distinguishable SKIN for FW veterans. The current SKINs we have can be the "grunt" SKINs. No loyalty required, just grinding.
If the SKIN requires a high standing to obtain and fit I don't see why you can't be given the light, medium, and heavy SKINs at the same time. I mean, if you get your standing to 9 - 10 then you deserve them. That is not an easy feat.
Ideally, I would like us to move around New Eden using some kind of capsuleer transportation service, but we won't see that until Dust migrates off the PS3. Fingers crossed that happens sooner rather than later.
P.S. - Yes, Amarr would probably be some kind of dull gold with silver-red accents.

WYRNSPIRE !!!!
You would be a good diplomat dealing with CCP and have vast gameplay experience with knowledge of mechanics, and like I think and hope Pokey's main strength will be you will critic CCP where needed and in a manner they will listen to. Ideally speaking I think you'd be a good choice, but I am going on the basis of what I have seen or read while playing the game.
Bamm Havoc has a good perspective on the game. and offers another opinion from most which I feel is important for a productive CPM, If he was active enough would be a good host for player events. But I have not seen much from him lately.
In my perspective any candidate running for CPM should be focusing on the gameplay in Dust514, by being part of it, from publicly hosted FW, Ambushes even PC gaining experience with the players in game, obviously activity times can't always suit but if they cannot be active they are in no position to be providing current feedback from the community, not all members need to be active as much in game because ideallly gamers would be smart enough to vote the right mix of players

They are voting CPM this month, and will be adding SKINs for the next 10+, many players have put forward idea's with Faction/Loyalty SKINs, but is a visual effect that we are set to get one way or another, deciding what candidates provide a good base for in game content is more important. I see no point in any player voting for someone who cannot provide that, Save his layouts and work on that theory, but if an open discussion on what candidates will actually DO for the game is possible I'd try keep that on track.
How many voted the last CPM ?? that's the only reason you need to why we need CPM involved with the entire community
