I can tell you all that _every single current CPM1 member_ has been extremely active and valuable to us, whether that being planetary conquest, game balance, specific game design decisions, events, and other feedback that we asked them to give us. It can't be stressed enough that each one of the current 5 members was and is contributing to the conversation on their own and it is very appreciated by the whole development team.
And no, they never pushed for their personal agenda. They are very objective and talk to not only us but to their friends and corp mates as well before they give us their overall feedback and even sometimes spark a whole discussion regarding some specific topic that is at hand. Keep in mind that there are time zones that we need to synchronize as well, so there is always a slight delay in discussion but never complete silence. In fact, we talk 24/7.
So yeah. It is probably best for you all to simply know that we are more than happy to work with CPM1 and will continue to do so until the end of July when we will start slowly transitioning into CPM2 and hopefully have once again great people on the council. Because that's what ultimately matters. Having good guys and making the game better together. This post is perfect. Excellent job of halting the drama train in the station.

I agree that whoever complains about the current CPM needs to sit on it and rotate.
If you have a problem with the current CPM then try to talk to them and reason with them to get your point across. It is getting mad because the candidate you voted for lost. Learn to live with the situation and improve it. Take some ownership of this world!
GÇ£Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! I'm always gonna love you, no matter what. No matter what happens. You're my son and you're my blood. You're the best thing in my life. But until you start believing in yourself, you ain't gonna have a life.GÇ¥ GÇò Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa http://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/10446115-rocky-balboa

So, you've never once considered it easier to say something on the forums as opposed to in person/on skype?
You've never once realized that something you, or someone else said was taken out of context due to a lack of tone illustrated via text?

Must be a real feat to be able to understand exactly what a person is saying without being able to hear how they convey the message. (^ Pro-tip, that was disingenuous) Forum personality =/= In person personality. Think pretty much all of us who went to Fanfest proved this considering our polar opposite attitudes toward one another in game.
No, I don't find either easier or more difficult.
I've seen plenty of times stuff get taken out of context. That doesn't diminish that Cross' and IWS forum posting was very indicative of how they were as CPM and that it was the single most important factor in deciding to support them.
Context to a canvas of posting is all well and good and I support getting further context always.
But saying that a CPM's posting has nothing to do with their ability to serve? I remain highly skeptical and have demonstrated instances where I find this to be untrue.
I don't pretend to know at all about your tone ever, unless you are explicit, and even then I have no problem (as I said earlier) asking for further context.
I didn't say I pretended to be aware of people's tones. I am asserting that I disagree that people's posting on the forums isn't relevant to making a decision about their ability to serve on the CPM. I think it is highly relevant and conclusions can be drawn from people's posting.
Forum personality is indicative of in person personality.
Sure there are exceptions as I said...I feel no remorse for **** talking in the war room. But my feedback and threads in the remainder of he forums wasn't me RP'ing lol.
I am totally comfortable with people holding me accountable for my posting.
I totally think people shouldn't take in game actions as relevant to a person's capacity to serve.
You shouldn't try to label a person a murderer IRL because they shoot noobs in game and enjoy it.
But yeah..if you fly off the handle like Appia did on the forums...I think it's completely misguided to think that we should sweep that under the rug.

Does anyone in their right mind honestly believe IWS is a good player? It doesn't matter how hard working he is if all of his ideas are bad. Do you honestly believe he brings anything intelligent to the table? Be serious. How can he?
It's impossible for him to do so. He doesn't understand how anything works, and thats why he can't kill anything. If he did understand, he'd be more successful at the game itself. It's as simple as that. This isn't a troll, a flame, or any kind of bait. The CPM system is fundamentally bad. Society works by cycling the most useless people to the top as regularly as possible. People are not put into their positions by skill or merit. They are put into positions by making friends and being social with the right individuals. It has nothing to do with their ability, understanding or competence of any particular field.
Aside from Zatara I would confidently say that the CPM is largely useless.
And if I was Zatara, I'd have given up working with such individuals a long time ago.
I suppose Cross gets an honorable mention for actually trying though.
Sorry for any feathers this ruffles, but the CPM are pretty much all terrible at this game and should not be in any position whatsoever to help direct where it's going. I will give 10/10 for the well crafted troll, grats on that. But it is a bit obvious, no? After all the reasoning "Engineers should not be designing space ships because they cannot pass the astronaut admission standards" is pretty blatantly broken
Do we really believe that CCP Rattati and every other member of the Dust 514 Dev team are all secretly among the top of the leaderboards? Or alternately is the declaration that CCP Rattati and the new Dev team have not made any improvements to the game, or just gotten lucky in making them, or only done what they were told to do by feedback threads with no internal ability to assess or ascertain?
We'd best stop all those guys at Nike from designing shoes until we get their sprint and distance lap times established, it seems they've been undermining the Olympics this whole time
Still though, any troll post that suceeds in getting a response is a troll post that has attained a forum victory so again 10/10 on that, well played o7

CPM seems to restrictive I prefer to be aggressive and unforgiving with my complaints. The only cpm I really liked was judge he explained his positions with evidence and explanation to players and devs alike, he really seemed to want to make the game better. The best I have seen from other cpms is we are watching you (eye ball from congo) and the worse have been very foul and uninformed abuses of position.
If nothing else those with great minds should run to keep the corrupt out. I for one would much rather see inactive brilliance than active foolishness.
