Kay, so, since I've had a multi-week long losing streak; If I lose this next match (hate this match maker btw) I'm just going to start AFKing.
Anyone have some good, cheap fits to do this with? Thinking about running a BPO Logi and throwing out nanohives/dropuplinks, screw around until I die once so I can break the WP Threshold and then AFK in the MCC. Definitely looking forward to any suggestions on the best way to AFK.
BTW, livestreaming right now so if anyone wants to see how that goes over, feel free to watch.

I honestly don't see the problem with AFKing , I stop doing it because of Whiny bitches but just ignore them.
To get 150 WP quickly I would use a shotgun scout The speed lets you hack some yellow installations pick a good spot for an uplink and maybe get some kills,

Well, that's your fault. If you farm up WP, but don't really add anything to the winning effort, the matchmaker doesn't know this. It says "good player, this will balance these bad player" and puts you on a team.
If you did supply as much value to the field as you farm, you'd be in more winning battles.

Alternatively, it's putting me in there because I'm a half decent player who actually contributes a lot to the team in any normal case but because it thinks I'm some kind of super hero it keeps throwing me in matches to make up the difference, thereby screwing me over because I'm a veteran player.
Yanno since I didn't -start- AFKing until today.
But yanno your assumption might be correct too, what with the fact I keep getting thrown in already over matches and getting 0 WP and all because the match ends before I can even do anything.

It's times like these when I wonder if the matchmaking is broken or if our playerbase are a bunch of risk averse pansies...
Play your matches, lose and yeah maybe even get stomped. Your mu score will adjust accordingly and place you in matches with players more your skill level. There's no shame in it.
There is shame in AFK'ing though. Why play the game at all? Just quit and be done with it.

Maybe because I only had two hours to play the game before I have to get ready for work and I at least want to enjoy them or not waste my [REDACTED] time.
That last match was the final straw for me. Five guys against an entire team and I'm somehow expected to actually fight? To actually compete against that? But if I AFK it's Shameful?
No. AFKing isn't "risk-averse" it's not being an idiot and putting yourself in a stupid situation when you're just going to lose anyway. I actually respect players who AFK in those kind of matches more than people who just throw themselves at the enemy desperately hoping to somehow turn it around in some 300-esque BS because they're so terrified of how the community views AFKing.

I didn't start AFKing until today because I'm tired of losing match after match after match - this isn't something I do on the regular and if you actually knew who I was or what I do in game, you'd know that, but since you don't you're just going assume a bunch of BS because of a thread title and some limited evidence that you would not have had unless you came here to whine about something you clearly have no clue about.

It isn't smart to post a picture of how you jury rigged your controller to AFK. Pretty certain CCP frowns on that in a big way. Rattati hates it, if I can recall.

Like I honestly care at this point. If he wants me to play the game, he'll look at that as a sign of something seriously being wrong. EDIT: Hell, if he really cared, he'd take a look at my track record of activity and notice the sharp and brutal decline since Uprising 1.7

He's pointing out an issue with the matchmaker than effects him. He, and everyone should be able to find fun and well matched battles, but he can't. This ruins his enjoyment as a player. Seriously, WTF, how is "growing a pair" going to fix his battles being one-sided stomps?

He's AFKinng because he has a constant issue with the game putting him in one-sided stomps. The AFKing is a symptom, so I don't see why you're so fixated on it.
Going to use an analogy. It's like... say a corrupt and oppressive government has policies that leads to widespread poverty, and people turn to crime just to survive, and they speak out against the government, you would be the guy who says to them "yeah well you're a prostitute, you're breaking the law," and completely ignore why they do it to begin with.
One-sided battles once in a while are to be expected, but constant nonstop stomps are bad, and if he experiences them, then he should talk about them.
