There just is no evidence to support either claim unfortunatly
Yeah, sure. There are tens of thousands of Eve players just sitting offline indefinitely paying a subscription for a game that they never play.
Give up. Eve is actually declining at this point. If 40k + players is rebounding, then it has about 20k to go before you can say it's really "rebounding" since the devs at CCP built their game to be such a niche game that their current and past audience is just about their only audience. Incarna was just about the only time they ever tried to appeal to anyone outside of their niche market with that game and the players acted like brats and spoiled it for the large portion of the player base who actually wanted it and decided not to bother any more after witnessing the community act the way they did (like me).
When they actually manage to make their game "fun" and less about spreadsheets in space, then maybe they'll get the subscription base they always wanted. Until then, have fun with the decline. |

Ah man ...look i dont want to pick a fight with you but stop spreading crap ...Eve online is in a very healthy state.
CCP have to a large degree made policy to not allow players multiboxing 10-20 acounts (mining fleets) so there was a crap load of people that got rid of their extra accounts because of this.
CCP's first priority is to make Eve a great game and if that means stepping on the toes of a few vets like myself then so be it ....Eve will be around for the next 12 years that you can take to the bank...there is just no equal.
I mean for how long has people been DOOMING Dust ...and its still around and getting better. Im really so tired of people trying to spread neg publicity (if you don't like the fucken game then move on ) !!!!!

I don't see how you can describe a continual die-off of players as "a very healthy state". Eve, most definitely, isn't in a "very healthy state". At best, it's sustaining CCP, but there's no growth at CCP anymore, and it's almost guaranteed that CCP is now shrinking because of a shrinking Eve playerbase.
As I said earlier, as an employee of CCP, you wouldn't be looking at a declining player base as anything but "not healthy".
Also, this isn't negative publicity. It's an answer to a question, but it is clear that there is a certain community out there that, somehow, wants to translate "declining since 2013" as somehow "very healthy".
PS - You can't have a game without players. |

EVE is shrinking, but so is the MMO market in general. The decline in users may be less than the industry average, which would be to the games credit. |

Riiiiiight. A steadily decreasing playerbase is just because of one rule decision which took place at one time. Look, I don't want to pick a fight with you but stop spreading crap, Eve is not in a healthy state. If this were the sole reason that the playerbase were declining, it would have been a jump, not a steady decline over time.
Nevermind the fact that CCP should've done something about this ******* years ago and sat on their ******* hands letting their game be ruined because of it. Now they just need to do something about the asshats who abuse the system by multiboxing and using ******* scouts in different corps to bypass the war dec system and get free intel. Or how about the log-on trick where players put a lone ratter in a pve cruiser and then suddenly 5 players log on and instantly appear in space to gank you. Eve is still terrible because of CCP's horrid decisions regarding what to allow in game and it's effectively ruined the game because of it. Only the hardcore players are sticking behind the sinking ship and now finally they're going too.
Which brings us to Dust now.
Lol. Dust is so healthy isn't it? It flopped on arrival and now only the few hardcore vets who saw "what it could be" are sticking around waiting for Dust to pick up and actually turn into something respectable. Yeah, it's getting so much better. It's not like it's still a pretty much dead game due to similar bad decisions for the game or the multi-year wait players have had to put up with to see "what it could be", just like Eve. Eventually, Dust will die off too unless they bring it to the PC and implement so many other basic gameplay features of a game that's supposed to be in an open persistent universe like they should've done years ago. The game is still a ******* exclusive on a system that's now roughly 9 ******* years old for christ's sake. You can't defend it any more. |

I certainly hope it gets released. I understand that the Eve side is the main revenue stream for CCP and Eve:Valkyrie is probably the main focus of CCP's development, but i'd buy a high quality gaming PC to play Legion as long as the progress made on Dust carries over. If CCP doesn't release it one day it'll be like dooking in the face of all of us who've paid money to support this game we love(and sometimes hate). I'd love a Dust like experience on PC especially if it played a more active role in the Eve universe. I think it'd also be cool to implement a War Thunder like element to Legion and Valkyrie. Think about it, Orbital strike inbound, pop to your handheld as a ground pounder and fly a sortie with a drone or Valkyrie fighter to knockout SatCom to disrupt the fight in space. Ahh probably won't happen like that but would be super cool. Thanks for reading o7

Waht we want from CCP is just to stand up and say what is the actual status of Project Legion. That's it.

stop being cowards and admit you all bit off more than you could chew.
face it ccp doesn't have the resources or the talent to bring another game to fruition.
prediction: eve online will be shutting down in 2017 ccp will be bought by EA and cannibalized.
