I regret giving CCP any of my money, it was only for an EVE subscription for a few months but still at least I didn't waste any of my money on any of the these things people are willing to buy for their Dust accounts. Grinding in Dust 514 and trusting you guys has been a horrible time. Lol, and yet here you are...

Yes here I am on the Forums mostly awaiting news about Legion but wouldn't be surprised if it got canceled or is in the same position WOD was. Legion is only worth spending the time on these forums because it'll be everything that Dust was suppose to be. I don't waste my time in game anymore because it's still a frustrating game. Lack of teamwork, still getting stuck on stupid **** sometimes, same 3 modes we had before fanfest( I don't count FW and PC anymore).
Should Legion be on the ps4?

Its only been a year. Honestly, cancled in a year is not very logicial. And it would be wise of them if IT was cancled to tell it, **** off that bit of blood, then focus heavily on dust. But i just don;t think thats whats going on. I suspect something big might happen at fan fest, but who knows. And i'm here mostly waititng for legion as well. I play dust onc ein a while. but tis a pita to get off the pc where i play eve and go to another room to play the ps3. |

I couldn't agree more in terms of the way Legion is silenced at the moment. I am sure the working class of CCP games want to talk about it but have strict "orders" to be silent. In this phase of the game industry it isn't best to stay silent. Look at how management nearly destroyed Eve Online a few years back, it simply doesn't work anymore.

Edited- with all due respect it really needs to be a bit more open.

I disagree. Being more open about 1) a game not yet green lite that is having devs switch in and out of it to work on dust, is not very wise.
2) Lets say, after the Rouge Wedding, that dust rebounded with player numbers and money, lets say CCP is mainly focused on legion, and dust is still just getting some random old backlogged filled, maybe to pave the way for legion boo knows. But lets say dust is making money, maybe not tons, but enough. If they did not have anything about dust, because dust is in a state of shut down, and they mentioned only legion and shown its progress, it would drive MORE players away from dust. From a business perceptive this makes zero sense.
Also lets flip it. Lets say they show some neat things for dust, and nothing of legion, cause legion is not ready to show anything. And then. lets say they get lots of feed back form players saying 'we want legion' or lets say a few months later they make a breakthrough and someone legion is done sooner. Then they cancel the dust development stuff they showed at fan fest, and that will leave a bad taste in players mouths.
I mean hell, you have guys who are foaming at the mouth for Star Citizen who play eve and keep mentioning a fan fest video ccp did in 04 as a possible concept for atmospheric flight. Things ccp has announced gets held over there heads if they don;t finish it. So why announce anything thats not even close to be done.
The point i am making, Dust and Legion are on a precarious position atm. If they do or say the wrong thing it could damage both products for no reason. So best to stay silent for anything not done so you don't hurt your product more then you need to. |

So they released the schedule. Sadly I don't see anything about legion into it.
I do see this. Make Eve Real GÇô Creating Planetary Civilizations. But thats about real life.
So are the devs gonna by as rocks and ignore the lowering player base and don't say anything about dust or legion?
Atm still unsubbed on eve before the future vision is clear every year the concept changes 360 degrees. I want to control a war barge in eve online and hire mercs. I am really not happy how stuff is going just a honest opinion but I am following it because I hope stuff does becomes better. If not then i am off to star citizen.
People that go to fanfest try to get some info out of them if they are still developing on Legion.

Well there is some good news for us Dust514 players on the PS3. Dust 514 is now profitable for CCP games. Which means if they port it to the PC it would mean more profit. It would seem upper management are making silly decisions on PL...no offense
Source
Quote:This is one of the most surprising things from Fanfest this year: CCP is happy with DUST 514, and the game is going well. I also asked about Project Legion, the sort of announced game from last year that CCP said may or may not become a product. I was told there was nothing to announce.
"WeGÇÖre looking into a lot of options for whatGÇÖs going to happen next for Dust," P+¬tursson said. "ItGÇÖs too early to say anything to be honest. The game is now a profitable business for CCP, and thatGÇÖs a good thing."
But it is still a terrible thing to blow off your community CCP in terms of PL.

I wouldn't mind all the stuff they are doing with Dust514 as long I knew these were test for Legion or a Dust514 port to PC and maybe PS4.
CCP seems too small of a company to be this silent about development of there games and sometimes one part of the company not knowing what the other part was doing.

That's...unfortunate. Not surprised about this news tbh.
I find it ironic that they tried to kill dust at the previous fanfest and are now going back to console focus. Too bad, maybe they could have avoided the red wedding completely and had put the last year or so focusing on one format.
Ccp keeps choking on their own tongue.

We'll see if Valkyrie is enough to keep CCP afloat, but I doubt it.

Except you have no real correlation. Skill queues that can be a year + long means people can walk away form eve and play other stuff.. whill still paying for eve.
Eve offline != subscription numbers. Only whos is online. You really can not get any real info from that site besides how many players are on. And eve has been peaking at 40K+ during prime time for months now, so its rebounding. But again, there is not enough information to support the claim that even is down subscribers. Even if you look at last years 6 month update, you can calculate that eve was down about 2.5k subscriptions in the first 6 months. But how much of that money was dust is the question. There just is no evidence to support either claim unfortunatly |

Keep in mind that Eve-Offline is not accounting for those passive players who are on call for any major fleet battles that may occur. The recent addition of infinite skill queue may have played a role as well.

Fan fest made sense, they only showed what was possibly coming in the near future, as in in 2015. They have nothing new to report for legion, and where as last year they shot dust in the foot, dust is making money, so might as well milk the cash cow for a bit longer before killing it |

Eve offline counts anyone who logs in. It's true it doesn't count how many people are paying, but one can assume that it's related quite strongly to the number of concurrencies. |
