IMO - just give the losing side ISK and keep things the way they are. That pretty much fixes everything, the problem right now is PC is an ISK sink, especially to newer corps who can't win. But if losing gained them some small amount of ISK it would give them incentive to keep trying and get good enough to get the real ISK for winning.

Judging by your sig, I'm guessing you no longer play Dust, so I have to ask that important question. Why are you still here in the Dust forums? Perhaps you're not as free as you thought? Lmao, nobodys going to Legion. The people who left were the lifeblood of the game, though a very small amount still remain here (lord knows why). Legion is the same as the original Dust vision- a seemingly good idea that nobody actually working on the game has any idea how to make happen. To all the vets who witnessed fanfest, shame on you for letting these stupid noobs have a glimmer of hope. Maybe seeing what happened to us happen to these new sad excuses for New Eden clones will provide you some form of closure. Or entertainment.

Corporations aren't to blame, a corporation is just an official name or group of players with the same goal for something that do what they wish to do. When you look at a roster of every player of a game, you see the players names first, why? because they are playing, NOT the corporation.

I know that some of you are going to accuse me of trying to defend Nyain San, Ancient Exiles, DNS and so on.... but im not, im only stating the fact that a Corporation is only an organized group of players with the same goals as each other.

The players in the corporations are 1/3 of the blame. they continued to stomp new players out of the game, thus nearly killing off the playerbase. is it just a coincidence that since most of the major players and corporations left dust, we have had a spike in the number of players trying out the game and actually staying? hell to the no its not a coincidence. PC NEVER had any involvement in the real downfall of Dust 514, I know this because 98% of the playerbase don't even think about PC, there too focused on trying to enjoy their PUB match experience to even give a **** about PC. And one other thing about those in this paragraph, you may say that "We were just attempting to reach the maximum potential that we could as a private community within this online game." and "Oh its not our fault that CCP put this here, were just using it in a way that benefits us." or "We never tried to drive off the community, we just wanted to have good matches and that meant we bring our best against people who have nothing compared to us, see look how big our epeens are!!!" fact of the matter is, you guys all exploited loopholes in the design of the game and that lead to the deterioration of the player base thus making you bored of this game. You basically like an over hungry creature who is constantly killing at eating its one source of food on a planet and when that source is all gone, you wonder to yourselves "Where'd everyone go?" and you die off because you over exhausted your own recourse and your in complete denial because "We can do no wrong for we once stopped it before, therefore we are immune to being blamed"..

The players complaining about the giant names are 1/3 of the blame. They continued to complain and complain about how its unfair that "PC Players" have an unfair advantage in pubs because they can afford to go proto 24 hours a day and that they are killing off the playerbase because they aren't giving the new players a chance to grow. Yet they did nothing about it, sure they organized a few PC matches in an attempt to stop these players from being able to farm ISK but that didn't do ****. What they should have done was play pub matches and attempt to counter stomp the proto stompers and take the new players on and teach them in a constructive and non-cannibalistic manner how to survive in this game. Instead they continued to complain that nothing was being done when it was their responsibility to stop this from happening because they were complaining about it.

CCP is 1/3 of the blame. They made a game called Dust 514 and made it similar to eve online but had a severely incomplete game design and system pattern, they made this game as an unborn child still in the womb who isn't getting any nutrient to grow because the mother is a drunked idiot who doesn't give a crap. They asked for player feedback for months and all the advice they said they took on, they did the exact opposite of what we were conveying. Instead of making the Academy last longer so players can get a good feel of what to do in order to survive and compete, they shortened the academy to where after a single match or 2 day one players are put up against day 3000 players and are instantly turned off by the lack of protection and consideration for them that they delete dust and never return to it again. when we were telling them to increase the time subject A, they terminated subject A instead and that resulted in another player drop. CCP has done nothing to save this game since it was created, they only made it worse and are to share 1/3 of the blame for its failure.

fact of the matter is that PC has had very little to do with the beating heart of Dust 514, PUB matches being single sided is what killed this game, and CCP not attempting to fix the loopholes seriously is what accelerated the burial.

I must admit that I am part to blame as well, I have always wanted to be a well known player who everyone has heard about and feared when they were on the enemy team but loved me when I was on their team. I wanted my name to be one of those that people say when they are asked "Who do you think is one of the best players of dust?" and I strived for that through tanking. BUT I never considered what I was doing to the new players who had nothing compared to me, and for a while I didn't care to think about it.... but lately I realize that I am part to blame as well for my treatment of new players. I wanted my name to be up their in the Dust 514 all time top players and I still do, but I wont do it at the cost of killing this game because of my gigantic ego.

Could have fooled me. We're playing matches virtually every night. Lots of fun being had, and isk to be made by the soldiers when you win...instead of passively when sitting on your hands.
