The idea was that you'd call them in via the call in menu and place them similarly to OBs though i'm pretty sure they never got it work that way in dust. You'd obviously have to buy them and that's why the tab exists in the market.

Brush Master wrote:Will a compare feature be coming? will the weapon show how your skills effect it? Those 2 questions were the biggest thing missing from 514. The ability to quickly see how your skills effect an item and how it compares to what you have equipped on a suit. I should not have to buy it to have to compare it. Great points, Brush Master.
Both features have a high practical utility and add to the gameplay experience considerably.
They are also both fantastic self-learning tools: with these features players struggling with wrapping their heads around the skills/fitting systems in Legion will learn a lot in the market window via direct hands-on interaction. That's worth hours of interactive tutorial right there.

Changing platform won't affect the source of the current latencies we experience in DUST when trying to load team/match lists or contact lists etc.
What is the cause of menu lag in DUST anyway and how will Legion resolve it?

I like this a lot. I hope that there is a way to make the list compact, no pictures so we can see more if we need to. Pro's choice. and also to filter to only plasma or rail or scram or combat... doesn't look like it by the screen shot, only by skill requirements. for those worried, it does say plasma rifle off to the right for the factional plasma rifle...
Like Brush Master mentioned, a comparison tool is a MUST! If CCP truly wants to limit flipping between pages, this is one of the major offenders of this. Please make this happen! :)
Also like he mentioned, if we "Show Info" on a module in the fitting screen that is installed on a drop suit, we should see the stats with the dropsuit and skill bonuses applied. A little off topic there, BUT to make it more relative, if you could implement a second column of numbers that apply to our current dropsuit and skill bonuses that are highlighted.....
10/10 would send love letters to the dev that implemented it... :D
In life, I have this to regret. That too often, when I acquired ISK, I did not have enough of it.

I really hope that even though we won't be able to buy thousands of weapons from a NPC market, there will still be a simplistic way to restock items (like you currently can on the fitting screen) without having to go into the market to buy and sell. I think there should be a restock option with preset default settings which you can change. These settings would allow the Restock to automatically buy the items in your fit at the best available price, but pop up a warning message if any of the items are more than 10% above mean market price.
Mean market price should be a running stat based on the previous 30 days of market sales.

Not according to the screenshot. The Plasma Rifle is still listed under Light Weapons. This might mean we're getting whole new weapons (hey I can still dream).

If i only auction salvaged items, it means there is no industry. If there is no industry, there-¦s probably only kill missions and kill modes.
No economic warfare. No logistical warfare, only pew pew pew against drones, pew pew pew against each other, and selling weapons to each other.
What-¦s the range of the sales? Does it need transportation from a place to another? Can gank someone on the way and take their items or it-¦s magically "soulbounded" until it is used on the ground? Can i buy all items in a system about to become hostile and deprive my enemies of equipment?
That-¦s the differenec between a Market and an Auction House (Gooooooooorgeous as it is)

Whether it's called a secondary market or the auction house, it makes no difference to me. As an Eve Online player of 6 years and an experienced market tycoon who can post hundreds of orders at once, the market and contracts consist overwhelmingly of looted, second-hand, or player-manufactured goods. So no matter where you go, whether it's to the contract window or the secondary market, it's still one and the same to me in New Eden.
Of course Legion doesn't have industry of its own. But if the game gets the green light, it will likely have industry in the form of harvesting materials in some way. Eve players are then likely to be given control of manufacturing the goods and then then sell them to Legionaries when they're ready. But that will take a long time to achieve. In the meantime, what we see now is better than nothing.

It would be nice to put under the name of the gun some basic data like rate of fire, clips size, dps for guns, or Shield/Armor hit points for dropsuits. I understand every data is in FITTING(down right), but as I say some basic and most important data can be placed for quick comparison betwin different items

It might start off like a universal auction/market for Legionaries just for simplicity sake since none of us here can figure out a practical means of transporting market commodities across an entire galaxy like Eve players do in a FPS setting. Hopefully Legion would evolve to allow Eve-like auction/markets where players really have to move them to get things done.

I posted in another thread talking about the menus in Legion, and one thing I think will be useful is tooltips, pretty much everywhere. Here's the link, the tooltip part is at the very top. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2202650#post2202650
In this case, it would be nice to have a tooltip over the "Skill Missing" thing that shows you what skill it is you're missing instead of -requiring- to go to the skill tree to view the missing skill.
I'm also assuming that the specific weapon types (in this case assault rifle was selected) will have another sub category show up on that menu on the left instead of in the center where the items are.
The fitting resources window is great. Having a compare option for 2 items would be nice, and have it be able to go between market sub groups.
Otherwise it looks very nice! |

Question:
Have you finally separated the suits into their own respective races? As it stands right now, Dust 514 has all of the racial suits bunched together in many places making it look unprofessional when it comes to how the market is presented.

Important questions. What we really need to resolve is the physicality, storage, production, destruction and origin of items in Legion.
We speculated a lot on the DUST forums but to my knowledge CCP never naild down exactly what was going on with physical items and consciousness transfer.
For my money the only thing that makes any sense at all is point-of-use nanomanufacturing.

Looks good. Thanks for the post and update.
To Natu: I'm not sure how it could be anything but a single universal AH or independent regional market hubs. Personally I never expected nor assumed that DUST/Legion characters would have access to destination travel (EVE warp gates) to even open the door of possibility to pirate other characters en route to whatever AH location(s) exist. Sure, at or to and from salvage zones, but not really through space-based travel. I honestly imagine it's just an access point in your merc quarters to buy and sell, and that be that. That would be the cleanest and fastest path I would guess.
If that's the general idea, then I would love some type of filter system to view other regional markets so that if I wanted to play the numbers game, I could---to a degree. Just select a region and determine whether or not it's more profitable to put in sell orders here or there or wherever. Keep restrictions of distance from your home system to skills maybe like in EVE, but more generic. I doubt we're going to be trading pure ore or much of anything EVE-side except for our own game-useable items any time soon, so yeah, simplifying trade makes sense I guess. It would be faster and fairly open across the universe as compared to EVE, but that may not be a bad thing. Assuming we are only really able to trade what we have access to, we won't overlap EVE commodities, just sharing the market space through a streamlined access point. Again, I assume that I'm not going to be able to buy Kestrels, but being able to maybe SEE Kestrels on the market along side my own Legion gear would feel pretty immersive. That may even lead to more cross-over players due to curiosity of what all this new stuff that I can't buy is. We're not going to affect the EVE market much at all I imagine, so why not let our trades be faster and a bit more accessible than EVE's. Baby steps and all until one day maybe I can buy a Kestrel...
Hm. Maybe I'm making stuff up here, but I think I remember reading character clone transfer discussions in MC Peanut's post a while back from one location to another. Seemed instantaneous to me, just with a transitional visual sequence maybe. With that assumption as a basis, would then all of our inventory travel with us to access for use or trade in other regions? My point is I doubt we would be able to pirate each other beyond ground-game.
Of course being stuck keeping things within a system or region, I'm curious what impact if any EVE capsulers will play. IF the markets integrate, what would stop an EVE pilot from severely undercutting or price-gouging system-/region-bound Legion markets? If the Legion marketeer is unable to transport inventory to another trade hub to escape EVE player manipulation, what happens?
Back to the idea in the first two paragraphs...
Eh, I'm rambling again. =(
TLDR: Nice samples. Thanks. + incoherent ramblings on my part.

The gun that requires a skills to get is called a plasma rifle. It's a mockup. I think for refitting your gear if you could implement a system where we can place a sell order for everything that needs to restocked it will make the process a lot easier.
Basically the smart restock option that places multiply sell orders on the market.
I also want to know if players will be able to set an aurum price on weapons. I imagine some people would buy officer gear for aurum.

Eventually there will have to be a point where people in Legion will want to do more than just shoot. Even right now, some of us like me would one day like to earn a living trading in the Legion market while I go shoot somewhere. Or perhaps just hang out in the local colonies or districts and have a drink with my D-UNI friends as we watch over the refining facilities talking about how Jita will burn again. Or better yet, explore the open plains looking for new sources of materials for our war effort.
Of course, as we all know, baby steps. I know I won't see something like this for maybe at least 3-5 years.
