i've kept quiet until now but i fear large missle tank more than anything, fearing railtank is so 1.7 that said it doesn't need a nerf man, the missle tank has to get close it's basically the shotgun of vehicles. cmon guy the dropship can't go a unopposed it has to have a counter we have to have bad matches where a tank kills our dropships other matches we pwn but that can't be without opposition that has a chance to down us. nerfing tanks is not the answer. we have to flyhard this isn't a year ago where we could just lean on our OP AB. you either flyhard or die or both

I find missiles are balanced as they are very good against amour but are weak against shields and there slow reload speed which keeps them balanced ,next time when flying an incubus watch your surroundings if anything the missile tank is more vulnerable than you since shooting infantry with missiles is hard and CAL tanks with rails will end you. Also it seems like your fault for flying so low to the ground still wondering how the missile tank was able to angle himself at you. |

If anything, I'd say it needs a buff by fixing the fall-off damage and changing reload mechanics to work like SGs. Or just remove the falloff daage and have it all be optimal until the missiles run out. Missiles with falloff damage is ridiculous.

where anyone in a tank we hit the overdrive and we get a 25% boost... ohhh wow thanks that is so in balanced with the ADS afterburner.

tanks are cheap, slow and easy to kill.. so should remain cheap to buy ADS are pricey, fast, nimble, can loiter above all AV max range for the whole match and just call target, is effective for a lot more then a tank is meant to do, can catch and kill any infantry they can see, 3-4 shot lavs even armored ones, can with good fire support on its turrets shred tanks with ease.. so yes that ADS should cost more and be harder to use because it can dictate the match the moment its called in on a RDV.
and any honest player will admit that yes ADS can and do win you matches. if you got them and can deny the enemy theirs.. 99 out of 100 matches you will win with ease |

Missile tanks aren't a crutch, they're actually pretty difficult to use, I'd actually suggest trying them before you scream about them.

If the missile tank shot you down within half a second whilst estimating your flight path it seems pretty obvious that you were hovering and completely unaware that the tank was there which gives him the right to destroy you. As an ADS pilot you need to always be aware of what enemy vehicles are on the field before you start engaging the infantry. |

As a caldari purist i use missiles and rails almost every time i roll in my Gunnlogis. Now missiles arnt op plain and simple ....
reason 1 they are the most sp intensive weapons system in the game .
reason 2 they have the longest reload time of any wepon.
Reason 3 their max range is 250m.
Reason 4 they have the second slowest tracking speed .
Reason 5 You have a verysmall clip size 12 missiles before reload.
Reason 6 they have travel time that has to be taken into account when firing off your vollys.
This is just a small list of the cons to running missiles and when you are trying to target infantry with them it takes a keen eye andgood judgment and tracking ability . If a missile tank can get to within 100m of its prey it will die but when it goes to reaload and the enimy isnt dead then often the missile tank dies. Missiles are the most bakanced turrets in the game they can have long periods of low dps by burst fireing or have 1 big alpha strike with a long reaload .

I've never used large missiles myself, but I can tell by the sound of this thread that you're one of those newbs who got killed by one of us real ADS pilots then skilled halfway into them thinking they were easy to use. Missiles are fine, your fitting and piloting is what needs modification. |

The missile turret is all or nothing
either you kill the target in less than 2 seconds
or he kills you with his quad mod particle cannon/ion cannon in 2 shots/while you reload for 10 seconds
also 1 hardener on any shield vehicle should be able to protect you from a volley, unless all the missiles hit your dropship(i.e. you're half asleep/awful)
All the maneuverability of a dropship demands a compensation. How will dropships die when nothing can kill them reliably before they hit the afterburner?
Face it, large missiles just might be a direct counter to your class. Good on us, since we actually need to AIM our slow moving projectiles to hit you accurately.
Try keeping an eye out for enemy missile tanks if you have such a huge problem reacting to them. Missile tanks thrive on infantry farmers such as ADSs and blaster tanks, where their prey is often distracted (i.e. glutting themselves on free isk). |

Jerrmy, they really aren't op or a crutch. I'm defending my missile tank because it is balanced. Its not effective against infantry, it cannot reliably kill shield tanks (miss a few missiles and your f*****) the reload time is very long, the range is short and its tracking is decent. The advantage you get for these draw backs is excellent damage vs armor and good burst damage.
Honestly if you can't dodge missiles needing the ROF wouldn't help you. If you can't find and engage or get to a position above its angle of elevation then reducing the reload time won't help you. The missile tank will kill you the same.
I love shooting down armor dropships and incubi with my missile tank, I wait for them to start loitering and broadside them with missiles. If they had a gunner they would easily be able to see me, instead they want to gunship around, their fault. |
