Fanfest 2014
Fanfest is less than a month away and obviously many of us that were here since closed beta are kinda pissed that we just now are getting the rest of the racial variants suits. Although the new suits.... and the blasted cloaking which has infested this game has made the game fun for awhile it doesn't change how little progress has been made with uprising and the hype around last years fanfest.
But anyways I was wondering, if anyone here is going to fanfest what are you going to be asking CCP? Maybe something like : At fanfest I will say this..
lol maybe but it's probably best not to start raging, but it's best to pretty much explain your anger and tell CCP each one of their mistakes their team in Shanghai did in one whole question when you guys get to ask them.

if you do this while im watching the live stream, i WILL laugh at you.
you may want to refrase it in a manner in wich you will actually get a useful responce.
things like
"how satisfied are you guys with the progress you have made in the development of dust this far"
"what are you guys doing to bring the game closer to the vision presented at the games inception"
ya know things that sound thought out and somewhat intellegent, things that any good marketing team would jump on to answer. |

I'd echo Ghosts Chance's thoughts here and urge you to get your thoughts across in a constructive manner. What I will say is that we do not wish to overextend and overpromise. We look forward to discussing things that are real possibilities for DUST, and I feel incredibly optimistic with the new direction and guidance the development team has been working under.
It may seem like the same old rhetoric, but I am being genuine and I really hope in time you'll understand where I'm coming from. :)

ya I get it, lol still will be funny to see someone lose cool while trying to ask those questions calmly. But whatever you guys have to show for dust at fanfest might just stop those questions from popping up...... I hope. Cuz after all this time it's really gonna take more than a few suits, and vehicles to restore faith in CCP. And you guys have something more than a few new toys to use right? right?! right?!!!! You see even I'm losing it, but anyways I just hope you guys have something for that MMO side like you guys said in EVE Vegas: more on the MMO less on the FPS.

Honestly, I don't understand why they make such sweeping, unkeepable promises at fanfest. We're already playing the game, you don't have to sell it twice. Just give us some realistic projections, maybe a neat little trinket to look at(like you teased with cloaks before the beta ended last year.) and for the most part, we'll be happy.
You don't have to promise crap that you realistically can't get done with your "we need 20 days a month off" schedules because in the end, that hurts you by making us doubt your every move.
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

How will you improve in these areas:
DEV post: we will consider new ideas on deployable turrets, vehicle av and vehicle balance so please post your ideas.
DEV post: its two days after patch x.00 and we want you to post in this thread what you consider needs a hotfix.
DEV post: we want to improve dropships so post your ideas to improve them.
Sounds good. What about that question that I asked you to identify what CCP Dev did not get the tag they wanted??

It may seem like the same old rhetoric, but I am being genuine and I really hope in time you'll understand where I'm coming from. :) I actually liked things better back in 1.4 when you would post stuff 3 patches ahead so we had some idea of where things were going. Sure things get pushed back and that's annoying, but getting the dialogue going earlier is much better than later. Do you think we'd be stuck with crappy bonuses on Gal/Cal assault suits if we had begun the conversation a week after 1.7 instead of a few weeks before you had to submit 1.8 to Sony for review?

I agree the titan idea is terrible. I really don't think people have any clue just how ridiculously massive they are. It would take a team the size of CCP Shanghai decades to model the interior of just one titan, and there are 4 of them. It would take up terrabytes of disk space for the maps. You could have a 200 player battle and not find an enemy for days. The only realistic way to do this would be to make the map 0.01% of the size of the ship, and really, if you're going to do that, what the hell is the point?

Real possibilities? As in you want to talk more about what you are planning long term at fanfest?
Seriously, what have you guys been doing the last few months? It better not have been spent working so hard on that cluster of a pooch screwing that was the last patch. If that was hard work, then just cancel the game and retool for 3 years from now.
Given the silence, there needs to be an announcement of something that is finished, or darn near, and ready to go. It needs to be not small, like a single socket, or a new weapon. It needs to be something to move the game forward. And it should be out shortly thereafter.
However, being as this is CCP, I expect some bad screenshots, maybe a teaser video of prerendered trash, and some boring theory talk about where they want Dust to go, with absolutely no discussion about how to get there, or when.
If there isn't a real plan for a transition to PS4 by now, I would have serious questions about the ability of the leadership to handle the title.
Oh well, it is all a big joke anyway right guys? You guys almost got me to spend some cash on some boosters. Thanks for the heads up that the game still isn't going anywhere anytime soon. More to spend on other games that offer a return on investment.
Mr. Hybrid Vayu.

I don't think it's terrible, it's just not possible with the ps3. Maybe small battles to sabatoge the Titan but eventually if this game comes to the ps4, there will be more players and bigger battles and the possibility to take over the Titan.
