But other sounds were good, the music was a cool feature that I totally forgot about. And that HUD!! Way better than what we have now. I hate the current mini-map. Loved some of the old animations, the hit markers and of course that female voice.
As far as TTK goes, it might have been a little much back in day. But I look forward to trying to reach a happy medium. Tired of the 'paper Merc' gameplay we have now. Personally, I hate how we have "standard" scopes on weapons now. The wireless-camera system from back In Replication felt far more like it fit with the technology of the times.
After all, part of the Future Force Warrior project the US is working on is reliable wireless cameras to combine with weapon scopes to allow the user to shoot around corners without exposing themselves, for example.

Replication definitely took the most skill to play and it was great when 1 person could hold off an entire team on the alpha ridge. Thats a crock of bollocks and u know it. You guys where busy trying make the next cod/mag mash up and you won argument dust is the way it is now because of the shooter fans and cod fans if ypYou and others botherd to stop trolling yoy would have noticed you and eve guys agreed on key points. Instead people like yourself runined the communty with your trolling driving away the smart players and the shooter fans like your self have given us this garbled mess. Dont forget protoman their are plenty of vets still kicking who remeber what actually happen and not you're little fansty you seem to have. i do agree on the talent pool though dust has shockingly bad players. Good to see ya posting again though the fourm minigame has been really boring lately :-P:-P
steady you are being selective with your memories. Let me help you out
Replication and early closed beta had much higher ehp and potential weapons damage. Now add in all the random hit detection and you get a skewed higher time to kill. One of the issues I always found was that if you went for head shots you killed super fast if you actually connected(which i wasn't good at). Players like proto, omni, zitro, and others that only went for head shots and just destroyed people (like me actually). So what you assume proto and other are wanting super fast ttk like cod it was actually them asking that you dont dumb down dust. aka reward skill. We all know that the dust players base in general has a really low skill level. So in general the majority if qq about stuff is simply because players are bad at dust, bad at fps games in general, and have some sort of entitlement of being good. I remember people telling protoman that his 6ish kdr in closed beta was going away come open and release when better players showed up. Pretty sure that didn't happen to anyone because it was just an influx of more bad players. I mean my best kdr as a slayer in closed beta was 3.3 and my highest I had my kdr as a logi in uprising was like 6.8 (yes I said logi and yes regnum still yelled at me all the time for letting him die)
So the long short is dont let your dislike for protoman fog your preception of what really went on and whats players motivations really were. Also protoman is playing FF14 now so we should all make fun of him for play lowering himself to a tabtarget game :-)

ahaha i dont hate protoman nice try at creating false conflict.
i do openly have a dislike for yourself for what happend in end with the imperfects but thats not for here.
you guys declared war on the community if thats what you guys where trying to do you guys epicly failed in all your trolling and got completely the wrong message across and that is on you guys. i dont have selective memory you have rose tinted glasses on how you guys where trying to be misunderstood villeins of the game and where just trying to help when in fact in the end you guys where just being dicks and shouted down ANYONE including your own if they disagreed with you, which meant none of you where taken seriously, i do hope if you guys come back we can get the band back together but this time i hope you all chillout a little :P
for sure i know protoman zitros and ragnum and all others really do care about this game but the way you went about it did far more damage this community and the game itself than any befit you gave. the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
i respect you beers we just have completely different views on how about to go about the same task :D

What are you talking about? Most imperfects decided to retire/quit dust last June. I don't see how that is my fault.
I would also like to point out that you bitched and complained just about everything thing imps did or didn't do. Not to mention you would quit or rejoin every other week. I can't for the life me understand why you were ever in imperfects when you openly so against us.
Also you bashed protoman and others because we said winning was most important thing and you complained about players not being able to play. Why would I remember this so vividly because it was one of the catalysts for us creating more corps so we could bring in new players and train them in lower stress scenarios. Can't say we didn't listen right?

I played way back when and I always thought the graphics were sub-par but I thought the HUD was nice.
I don't like the music constantly going though, and I also remember that being a common complaint that people wanted gone. It sounds good at first, but it gets old hearing it.
Skirmish was more fun back then, though.

Obviously not all maps are going to be like that, but some greater variance in terrain would really help to mix things up a little and make it feel like you aren't actually playing on the same planet every time.
