TTK was that way due to bad hit detection issues that aside we may have that back in 1.8 without the glitches. In a different thread a dev posted that they will update the minimap at some point to take into account terrain. Maybe the future of Dust lays in its past.

those Swarm launcher are so op, now with over multiple nerf patch , their are useless and weak why ccp dont give them back the dumb fire ability again (maybe a new weapon for the cal heavy ). Swarms were the FOTM when they were dumbfire. As such, that ability was promptly removed.
Fun fact: CCP handled the swarm launcher room clearing issue by removing BOTH the dumb fire AND the swarm missiles ability hurt infantry.

 Why the both?
No one can tell a good reason.

(EDIT: may be true that dumb fire was removed later on, I have vague memory of dumb firing tanks between Line Harvest warehouses.)

Personally, I'd love to see the old gunsights come back as well. Far more open and less limiting of your situational awareness. As well, they fit the theme of something you'd find that far in the future a LOT better than the sights we have now, which look like something you'd buy from your local pawn shop.

While there definitely should be a 1-MCC game mode again, I think it's perfectly reasonable to have 2 MCCs fighting.
It would be stupid to try fighting a piece of equipment like that without having at least 1 of your own docked at the district to fight it.

Just gave me an idea for another game mode: although it could be simply a stage in an actual battle, it would take place after the attacking MCC docks: the attackers have the goal of capturing the command node (command nodes are supposed to effect district sovereignty, right?) while the defenders must attempt to board and hijack the enemy MCC.
Stripped to the basics, it's a game mode where each team has 1 objective and whoever fully captures theirs first wins.

Hell, it could even be a new final stage to skirmish 1.0

I really hope part of what they deliver at FanFest is a more immersive experience, like that early build. When you move, you actually feel like you're moving.

Playing the game now, you feel like you're using a pair of thumsticks to control a camera mounted in the head of a character model holding a gun.

I actually thought I sucked ass when Codex first came out with that new lag-compensation system they set up on their servers, because I'd been leading my targets for so long I didn't realize that I had to lead them because of lag. I thought the game had ballistic calculations.

However bad the hit detection might seem at times in Uprising, it could never compare to how awful Replication was.

Man, Skirm 1.0 was so much fun. Cliffs, crevices, plateaus, all kinds of terrain, then the map ended with an open valley that had to be crossed to enter the facility. That map had a bit of everything.

It was cool being able to destroy the first two objectives. I was in a squad with some players who all started after closed beta and we were talking about all of the weird stuff that happens around null cannons. Blew their minds when I said the reason objectives have hit detection is that you used to destroy them.

The thing I miss the most is the old radar. I'm tired of having a plain blue circle with blinking dots, there's no reference point if you aren't within 100m of an objective. You can know they're there, but have no idea if they are in front of or behind cover, because there's no way to judge a difference of 1-5m. With the old version with the map, you could get an idea of where an enemy was at in relation to the terrain.

Hopefully, they've been working on bringing this back. The reason it was removed initially was because 1.0 was hard coded into that one map, and our current version was much easier to implement properly. Yet another issue with Dust that is the result of shoddy programming and implementation (others include: chat channels sorting by ASCII value rather than actual alphabetical, mic bubble glitch, Scotty, etc.)

Battlefield is well known during the sound process to go out and field test every gun... Every explosion and reccord the sounds... Why most say they have the best sound in the Genre..

If DUST's developers where to go to gun and demolition ranges and actually test weapons and explosives.. see how they actually work and their functionality... along with setting up sound recording equipment... They could get a lot of very real explosions and gun sounds that every human would register as real... They then could do what the average beat mixer with a laptop does... And tweak and chop the sound so it's more unique for DUST's atmosphere.

But until those real life recordings are made the weapon sounds in DUST will always be lacking...

Heres an example of an Audio team looking to make the game as immersive as possible... Even half of this effort would yield massive results in DUST.
