843-BANE BurgezzE.T.F Public Disorder. 615	Posted - 2014.01.29 15:21:00 - [1] - Quote If you're wondering what I'm talking about, this thread has been active for a little while now and is still going strong, I advise checking it out. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=137436 After over a week of bumping, 90 direct thread likes, 41 petition signatures and 15 solid pages of agreement and cheer I've FINALLY received an answer from.... IWS, the CPM. I fully appreciate his response and the acknowledgement from the CPM. However the rest of us may disagree with the comment made, this is progress. CCP HAVE read the plea and the thread, yet they refuse to comment or acknowledge it. I think we can show them why they should respond. Keep pushing, keep bumping, keep telling CCP what YOU want and what YOU think. After all, we are their customers. Isn't the customer always right? Corporation battles could save this game you know, or at least the competitive element. Bring back the fun, bring back the choice for US to call the shots on who we want to fight, when we want, for how much and for whatever motive. Gives us something to do other than proto stomp in public matches, right? Allow the newer corporations and players the ability to compete. Give them the choice that they don't have right now. If you want real competition, PC is where CCP wants you. Corp battles would make PC and the current district locking less desirable to many corps. CCP is already facing a huge problem with the wealth PC corps are accumulating... Risk free. Corp battles would only make this problem worse as many corps would rather make money from winning corp battles then defending PC districts. You think Eve has a big blue donut... Dust PC would be worse.

I haven't joined a PC corp, but I kinda don't want to. I play casually and might not have "free" time to play a staged battle. Why can't we just set up our own engagements. Don't want to get stomped by cheese anymore. FAME

Normally I'd agree with you. However we are receiving quality below what we were promised, and I believe we are entitled to what we want on the game we pay and play. Of course we are entitled. The only reason Dust 514 lives is because of the people who play it. CCP lose customers every day because they ignore what the community wants in favour of some crappy EVE integration. We are gamers, and we are entitled to what we're promised - fun. It's what PC is SUPPOSED to be about. I mean, hell. In PC you can't call the shots, you can barely choose who you want to fight because of locking and availability and you are compulsed to fight on the terms (timers) set out by your opponent. I'm totally in favor of throwing any or every FPS convention out of the window if it means bringing integration with Eve Online. If you want a run-of-the-mill FPS (I don't mean moderate quality, I mean normal ideas), go over yonder to another game. That's my opinion. If that's how you get fun, then that's what you should do. Eve Online isn't for everyone, and I see no reason why Eve Dust514 should be any different. If all I wanted was sci-fi fps, I'd continue playing Halo. Eve integration is a great Feature. But right now it doesn't have any proper useful value.. Other than the fact that it's Cool... FW, good change, but could've been better. We could've seen changes made in the starmap and so on, received better payouts and bonuses. But currently it's an ISK sink... May be in the Future... Currently that integration has as much influence on dust as Plasma cannon has to infantry... PC well, currently it's worth playing... FPS players wants competitive battles, not 1 min to shoot 1 player... Corp battles allowed us to just go all out and have some fun...

I'd love EVE integration done right, but not at the expense of our enjoyment. I don't play EVE, no, I'm sure you play it somewhat for enjoyment, yes? That's why we play Dust, enjoyment. I don't want a run of the mil COD shooter, that's clearly not what I'm asking for. What I'm asking for is for CCP to make competitive gameplay viable for everyone, not just the elite few. "FPS" is at most a genre, as little as merely a mechanical and user interface approach. (Extra Credits had a video where they criticize the way we think about game genres, but I can't remember which it was.) Eve Online integration isn't just a 'great feature'. CCP has said from the very beginning they want to create an in-depth, holistic science fiction universe. That's CCP's goal. Eve Online integration with Eve DUST514 isn't just a neat idea they are marketing, it's their foundation. If that integration is weak right now (which I'm not debating, it's horri-bad,) then that's what they need to be working on. Fundamental game mechanics(bugs, aim assist, balance, etc) and Eve Online integration should be their top to priorities if they are going to deliver on their vision. I don't think I understand "not 1 min to shoot 1 player". Could you rephrase that statement? By "just go all out and have some fun" do you mean 'without consequences beyond the cost of our lost suits."?
