So I logged in 2 days after the update after hearing bad news from Corp members, I bought lvl1 Combat Rifle to represent the Minmatar weapons and damn, It is OP , fires super fast with bugger all recoil unless you are running/gunning melts people way faster than it should just like the SMG which I have said before has way too much DPS
Watching my 500+ shield caldari squad member have his HP annihilated by the Rail Rifle wondering why I was told it has a bonus to armour DMG ..... seems like a cool weapon but is hitting way too hard
The Scramblers now have to contend with the faster CR and longer range RR which is good but, despite that drawback the SR is still OP and needs whatever multiplier it base DMG on lowered
And Gallente AR is now the sideline weapon at the moment with everyone trying new gear but due to its high clipsize it is still a force to be reckoned with
but seriously .....
All 4 AR variants are stupidly OP, none perform as an Anti Shield/Armour because they all drain either HP type way too fast, for the future of Dust 514 I really hope that the playerbase can actually agree that the current weaponary is too strong and needs decreases to RoF and clip sizes

Agreed. The new weapons don't fulfil any roles, they're just weapons to spam in CQC. This was the problem with the ScR in 1.6, and now they've rolled it out across the whole lot. All that is needed to balance these weapons is to make them less effective outside their optimum ranges. CQC was supposed to be the realm of the AR, and now it's gone the way of the LR in that it is bested in it's own optimum. Shotgun is dead. Nova Knife is dead. Laser Rifle is dead. What else has died by the hand of these new rifles?

I think it may have something to do with the December event that we are seeing all these CRs and RRs in addition to the fact that people just trying out the new weapons. Im having a hard time fighting RR users when im using the Laser Rifle |

There not OP, the TTK is off a bit and when you add in hit detection when it is working you get a since a weapon or weapons are OP. The truth is the weapons are balanced. The CR is designed to be CQC as the RR was designed to be a long range weapon the second longest in range behind the sniper rifle. Please do not start these weapons are OP or nerf this or nerf that, I am sick of people killing this game. If you cant kill someone maybe its the player and not the weapon.

It's not that they are OP vs each other it's the fact that rifles beat every other weapon in the game. The niche weapons like a laser rifle, shotgun, NKs, HMGs are no longer viable. The rifles are almost as good as these weapons if not better in THEIR environment. Plus the added benefit of you know crushing these in ALL other situations.
AR class has almost no weakness vs every other type of weapon outside AV. You CAN'T balance like this, or you might as well get rid if those weapons. |

Yes I notice a trend. The trend is that the rifles are OP. The new ones are just as effective as the original AR, only they have the added bonuses of being effective at more ranges. It defeats the purpose of running any other kind of weapon.
Tell me, when's the last time you saw a HMG in PC?

Having a team filled with blues running MLT gear out in the open will make any weapon appear OP. Keep this in mind. One on one the weapons are balanced. When you add it taking damage from multiple sources and your team being full of noobs. TTK and weapon balance are two separate issues. I picked up a State RR slapped a couple damage mods on it. Playing mangus peak when the reds moved from objective to objective, I would wait until their focus was on the blues defending. Open fire from their flank. Took on average 6 - 8 bullets to drop a merc solo. Went 16-0 in STD with Complex mods. ONLY 1for time did a red tag me. That was an enemy sniper. Now was my gun OP or was it my tatics? |

This, I have maxed cr skills and use 3 complex damage mods, kills anyone extremely quickly because, well, I'm using 3 fking complex damage mods with prof 5, damn right.

People who want weapons to actually kill or be killed by quickly want easy mode?
I think ttk is a bit too quick right now but its actually you who wants easy mode if you want weapons to do less damage, fk it let's just have a tea party in the research lab yeah? We can shoot each other with water guns........

I want the guns to be effective but they need fine tuning quite a bit
I specced further into the CR today and it is deadly but I really don't think I have the right to own a heavy with it
I really want Dust to improve and I am happy with the game, I havent said anything is wrong with it
It is simple, the AR weapons are overpowered by one or more of these reasons
-RoF -Clipsize -Range -DPS
and it leaves little choice for other playstyles which shouldn't be the case |

They easily have the highest recoil, yet because of the charge, you can't let off the trigger to control it.

I don't think they understand that. Taking into account headshots and how (random statistic) 90% of the people QQ are running squishy suits. You have got to expect someone with Prof 5 Stacking damage mods will melt faces. |

Yeah that's another problem, people run cheap fits, get melted and then cry op.
People need to shut up with nerfing, ttk too short? Buff suits hp across the board.
Why make people unhappy when you can make everyone happy while balancing the game at the same time? Iv gotten used to the new ttk now, cqc will always be quick and brutal, we are here to kill, not dance.

I don't think they understand that. Taking into account headshots and how (random statistic) 90% of the people QQ are running squishy suits. You have got to expect someone with Prof 5 Stacking damage mods will melt faces.
but part of the issue is that you other weapons cannot match that damage output, why is that so hard to understand? Putting a dmg mod on HMG or shotgun does not raise their dmg to something truly competitive, and the considerable range disadvantages to those weapons are a further hindrances. With those weapons, you have to put yourself in speciffic situations to be successful. Meanwhile, rifles can walk around annihilating or seriously wound anything they see the very moment the see it.

I do take into account , prof. and dmg mods will increase DPS
but I spent the morning shredding all types of suits with STD. Combat Rifle and like chunky pointed out, the only delay on shots is how fast u can press the trigger again I went level 4 to try the assault CR which I loved, but again I was slaying above my class without prof. or dmg mods, I had no trouble killing targets.....
People keep taking skill into account, but realistically if you can't aim in a FPS you should quit, I don't see the need for such high DPS, when it is easy to place headshots ...... |

Yeah because some people are good and some are sht.
Sounds like you just don't know how to play people to your advantage, you sound like the kind of guy I keep seeing that goes 1/10 with a rail gun because you bring it into cqc and I melt you with my assault cr.

The niche weapons like a laser rifle, shotgun, NKs, HMGs are no longer viable. The rifles are almost as good as these weapons if not better in THEIR environment. Plus the added benefit of you know crushing these in ALL other situations. AR class has almost no weakness vs every other type of weapon outside AV. You CAN'T balance like this, or you might as well get rid if those weapons.
I have used almost all weapons in the game. You have to find the play style that fits the weapon. Yes the AR's can fit most roles, but none has the killing power of the SG. 1 to 2 hits and most suits are finished, yes you have to get close, but that is what makes that weapon special. Wait until the NK are fixed and you are being stabbed in the back and its over before you can turn around. The LR can be used, it is how they use the weapon, use it at its optimal range and that is long distance, stay as far back as possible and put that scope to good use. Do not get me started on the HMG, at the moment it is difficult to use, but I still can rock with it. I just know that I have to be within a certain range and shove it up your A** and I win most of the time.

Logi slayers are the problem there, when you can tank as much as a heavy something is wrong. The new ones are just as effective as the original AR, only they have the added bonuses of being effective at more ranges. It defeats the purpose of running any other kind of weapon. Tell me, when's the last time you saw a HMG in PC?
