the responses are a bit 50/50

I am having no trouble fighting others atm, but from what I have seen from my team and the enemy sides is that the weapons are too powerful and none are really specific to their role ....
next all the guys against this are going to try tell me that Tanks are not OP that we should be in a game with flying HAV's and Death Ray AR's ......

Tanks are fine, slightly up, they should be able to fly and the ar variants all need to be death ray guns.

I think the burst cr should have a wider dispersion hip firing so its not as beasty in cqc, the assault version is fun but I don't see much point in it.

because all 4 are too strong it's that simple
CR - it's ttk is super fast SR - charges up to much with a better fire rate than TAC AR ( Imagine the tears if the Glu-5 could place charge shots) RR - I can't post much here as I have not used it but from what I have seen, it may be tricky to use but even CQC its High DMG AR - It's still carrying way to much in a clip , 40 max it should be
all four are OP, so we can all either admit it, get it sorted and enjoy Dust or we adapt or die .... which I am pretty used to at this stage of Dust but in the hope of getting new players into the game I really hope it doesn't stay that way .....

I hate to say it because I am wrecking anyone almost in 3 bursts proto or not but its too accurate hip firing.
There I said it lol.
Iv tried to make the assault work but the regular does anything it can do better.

Glu 5 is a placeholder.
I'd be fine with 40 in a clip but I believe the assault variant needs more in a clip to be worth choosing over the std cr.
And the hip firing is definitely too accurate. I prefer adapt or die to nerfing the guns but would agree to buffing everyone's suit hp a bit across the board.
Disagree to any weapon damage nerfs though.

Well this thread is a mess. The ARs are pretty balanced against each other, but the other weapons are crowded out.
HMG - Low range, can only be used by heavies. Very hard to get close enough unless the enemy goes Leeroy Jenkins and rushes at you.
Shotgun - You need to get VERY close, so most suits barring Scouts are out. The prevalence of Active Scanners ruins any attempts at ambushing unless you've stealth tanked, and this takes up your slots. It takes a lot more SP to get stealth bonuses and modules than it does to get a good Active Scanner, so it's really hard to work your way up as a Shotgun enthusiast.
LR - A very rare weapon, the LR needs to be used at the perfect range - far from AR range, but close enough to reach them. Armor tanks are hard to melt with LR, and the beam pretty much says "Look at me guys, I have an LR! Please snipe me".
Plasma Cannon - I got nothing. it's meh as an anti-vehicle weapon and very demanding as an anti-infantry weapon. The CPU cost punishes you for not choosing a Swarm Launcher or AR for whatever the hell you're trying to do.
MD - Close range hurts you, and long range is never accurate. You need to be at mid range, vulnerable to ARs, to really land shots. Low ROF and a small clip size means you need to land most or all your shots, and firing six shots without retaliation is next to impossible. If an enemy forces you into a CQC battle, you're helping them by blowing yourself up.
Sniper Rifle - Still good, no problems here. Get as much tank as you can and find a good spot to shoot people without worry. Heavies ironically do very good with these, given their signature combat weapon is the HMG.
These weapons have understandable weaknesses to force players to adapt their playstyle/suit to their uses, but the ARs are so effective in most scenarios that using these alternatives is like a downgrade; why use a shotgun that can kill at close range in 2 seconds when I can use an AR that can kill at many ranges in 3 seconds?

Mostly Assault CR ... No damage mods
Hell if its a case of adapt or die, I'm doing pretty well
but I still think as I have said before,
All four are too strong, or maybe its the crappy effect of dmg mods being stacked by bitches...

All 4 AR variants are stupidly OP, none perform as an Anti Shield/Armour because they all drain either HP type way too fast, for the future of Dust 514 I really hope that the playerbase can actually agree that the current weaponary is too strong and needs decreases to RoF and clip sizes
I won't even bother mentioning Tanks, they are insane There not OP, the TTK is off a bit and when you add in hit detection when it is working you get a since a weapon or weapons are OP. The truth is the weapons are balanced. The CR is designed to be CQC as the RR was designed to be a long range weapon the second longest in range behind the sniper rifle. Please do not start these weapons are OP or nerf this or nerf that, I am sick of people killing this game. If you cant kill someone maybe its the player and not the weapon. Ask for the AR to be nerfed for it is OP Ask for the ScR to be nerfed for it is OP Ask for the RR to be nerfed for it is OP Ask for the CR to be nerfed for it is OP Do you notice a trend, I know I do. Its not the weapons its the fact you F***** suck It's not that they are OP vs each other it's the fact that rifles beat every other weapon in the game. The niche weapons like a laser rifle, shotgun, NKs, HMGs are no longer viable. The rifles are almost as good as these weapons if not better in THEIR environment. Plus the added benefit of you know crushing these in ALL other situations. AR class has almost no weakness vs every other type of weapon outside AV. You CAN'T balance like this, or you might as well get rid if those weapons. HMG n nova knives never were viable mate, they were good till 1.2 when all the COD convicts moved in. nor its AR 514 |

These new rifles have been almost a year in the making, I have waited for ages for my combat riflke, now all they need to do is bring all the racial sidearms, heavy weapons, knives, heavy and light suits out.
Then racial drop ships, havs and lavs.
