The only thing i'm concerend about is, is the value of the LP going to compensate for the losses of suits and vehicles, since the isk doesn't do that now. How is that going to work..Is it like 10 lp for one weapon or suit or 50 lp for one weapon and suit (aur equivelant). So that would mean 1 match can give you 1 proto weapon or suit. So your still allways losing when using proto suit or die more then ones. Actually since i mainly use aur items of a value of 300 aur per suit that i lose. it would take me 6 matches just to replace 1 suit and since i could die between the 1 and 7 times based on an average match. it would take me 42 matches just to replace the 7 suits i lose. however by that time i would have lost even more suits. So its a lose lose situation. It was allready bad with the isk, but atleast it compensated somewhat towards my tanks. So in my oppinion they should give both isk as lp.
As for the State Kaalakiota Specialist Rail Rifle, are you (ccp) actually going to make it stat wise resemble the kaalakiota rifle ( 3shot, fast firing) or like what you have done to the aur version kaalakiota that now still resembles the ishukone rifle stat wise ( 5shots, slow firing). Its like you don't even look at you own product. |

Right now the only other incomes would be owning a district in PC or playing pub matches. Now I get that you don't want to make FW a progression of pub matches, but you can't FORCE us to play pub matches if we don't want to. And that's what you are doing, you are FORCING us. So either
1) Still reward ISK in faction contracts (perhaps a little less, so you earn more ISK in pubs) 2) Make loyalty store items only cost LP 3) Release the player market at the same time so we have another viable means of getting ISK without forcing us into certain gamemodes.
Note that (1) and (2) could be temporary and go back to as planned upon release of the player market. This. ^ Pretty much, I ONLY do Amarr Faction Warfare (unless we break Scotty). Some people just would rather do Factional Contracts. So, other than moving to Public Contracts or Planetary Conquest, how are we supposed to make any ISK? It would work great if there was a secondary market, but without it this will be a dead game mode within days.
That's exactly what I mean. If the player to player market was open, I would not have much of a problem with the removal if ISK rewards for Faction Warfare battles. But, as it is now, there is no such market. Wasn't it said in one of the Dev posts that the player market would definitely be coming, but not at the same time as these changes? (please, correct me if I'm wrong) Therefore, I agree the the ISK rewards should at least be kept in temporarily until such a market is implemented. I just have a bit of a problem with basically being forced into pub matches just to continue making ISK. |

Thanks alot -_-, now I can't wait for these changes arrgh "soon syndrome"
But if I may make suggestions perhaps offer literally unique items for LP. Not just specialist variants of weapons ect, but Items that are literally unique such as Dropsuit variants only available in anyway via FW.
For a few ideas
Caldari Heavy that can use small missle turrets as a weapon, Gallente that can use a small blaster turrer ect. Or Scout suits that deploy via dropping down anywhere on the map. Or Logi suits that can't have equipment But passively rep friendlies nearby, or Assault suits that can pick up a weapon of a downed player and use until it either runs out of ammo ect?

CCP FoxFour wrote:If you have not done so, please read the introduction post here. Oh this should be a fun thread. How many of you came here before reading any of the other threads? Admit it, be honest, most of you did. Thats OK, just please remember to read the rest of the threads before commenting. :) What are Loyalty PointsLoyalty points are essentially a currency that corporations within New Eden give to those who do things for them. For example the Federal Marines would give out Federal Marine loyalty points. These loyalty points can then be taken and used to buy unique items that the corporation has to offer. So you could take your Federal Marine loyalty points and spend them in the Federal Marine loyalty store which will have Federation equipment. This equipment (be it actual equipment, dropsuits, weapons, or modules) is custom and often times can only be gotten from that store. You can get loyalty points for playing factional contracts and the higher your standing to the side you are fighting for the higher your loyalty point reward will be. One of the other unique concepts with the loyalty point store in EVE is that items in the LP store cost both ISK and LP. This is a concept we will be bringing to the DUST LP store as well. Things in the LP store will cost both ISK and LP. Now that we have a basic understanding of what an LP store is, the next question what is going in available in the store. This is something that will probably expand and grow over time, but for this initial release we have two types of items we will be releasing in the loyalty point store. Specialist WeaponsOh boy, these are fun. When we talked about the loyalty store and what we wanted in it we knew we wanted some really cool new weapons. Something that players would strive for and that would be the top teir stuff. So we went to CCP Remnant and asked for some cool stuff. What we got back... well this stuff is awesome. The basic idea is that we would add a new version of prototype weapons, almost everything the same as proto weapons. The only difference is that they have less fitting requirements. (big grin) Here is a list of the new weapons we are adding:
- Federation Duvolle Specialist Assault Rifle
- Federation CreoDron Specialist Shotgun
- Federation Allotek Specialist Plasma Cannon
- Republic Boundless Specialist Combat Rifle
- Republic Freedom Specialist Mass Driver
- Imperial Viziam Specialist Laser Rifle
- Imperial Specialist Scrambler Rifle
- State Kaalakiota Specialist Rail Rifle
- State Wiyrkomi Specialist Swarm Launcher
All available in the loyalty store for both ISK and LP, all offering the same stats as their normal prototype variant with just a bit less fitting requirements. All Dem Aurum ItemsSo, you know how you can go to the market and buy Aurum variations of weapons and equipment? For the most part the only difference between these items and their ISK counterparts is that they have lower skill requirements. Pay Aurum, get into stuff with less skill points. Well it turns out this creates a really tricky thing to balance, and we don't want to have any pay-to-win issues. With that in mind why not make all those Aurum variants available in the loyalty store as well? So we did. It turns out it makes our lives a lot easier, gives you guys a whole lot of stuff to get from the loyalty store, and is just awesome all around. I am not going to go and list every Aurum item that will be in the loyalty store because that's a LONG list. I will however give you a brief breakdown of how those items will be distributed: So from that you will notice a few things:
- Every race gets a copy of the CPU and PG upgrades
- The damage modifiers get split amongst the stores
- Gallente and Amarr get armor
- Caldari and Minmatar get shield
- Gallente and Caldari get vehicles
- Equipment is split evenly
- Weapons go to the race that they should based on design
- Dropsuits are included and go to their race
New EquipmentSo I lied. Aurum items and specialist weapons are the two primary types of things we are adding. But what about equipment though and all those logibros. Well we have a selection of equipment that is just... well all around better. More repair, longer lasting scan results, combining short spawn times with more spawns, things like that.
- Imperial Viziam Drop Uplink
- State Ishukone Nanohive
- Federation CreoDron Active Scanner
- State Wiyrkomi Nanite Injector
- Republic Core Repair Tool

Certain items should be available in all LP stores. These Items include:
All types of Damage Modifiers.
Standard Variants of Shield and Armor Modules. These include
Standard Armor Plates (not Ferroscale or Reactive) Armor Repairer
Shield Extenders Shield Rechargers
Ferroscale and Reactive Plating should only be available through Gallente and Amarr LP Stores as well as any other types of highly specialized Armor Modules that may be added in the future.
Shield Regulators and Shield Rechargers should only be Available through Minmatar or Caldari LP stores as well as any other types of highly specialized shield modules which may be added in the future.
Movement/Speed Enhancing Modules should be available in both the Minmatar and Caldari LP Stores.
Electronics Enhancing Modules such as Profile/Scan Enhancers should be available from both the Gallente and Amarr LP stores.
As a basic rule when dividing Items up in LP stores you want to keep one simple Idea in mind:
In order to obtain any Item other than Racial Variants of Weapons or Dropsuits from a LP store, I should not be forced to fight against my preferred Faction. You don't want to lock players out of any particular playstyle or equipment because they chose any particular Faction.
In other words, If I'm Loyal to the Republic, I shouldn't be forced to fight for the Amarr simply to get a Complex Heavy Damage Modifier from the LP store.
I hope I made this point clear enough.

You can only use a heavy weapon damage mod on an amarr suit at the moment. Once we get the other 3 heavy suits they will add the damage mod to the other stores. Until then why would minmatar give out gear only usable on amarr suits?
Each type of proto type equipment is made by corps of one race, so only that lp store
LP store appears to be balanced on future suits and weapons being added in addition to the future player market. As they said, it is being released unbalanced until the other features are added balance it, rather then holding it back completely or balancing it twice.
Listing combat rifle and rail rifle but not other suits suggests we will get the new guns sooner then the suits. And the other weapons/suits/racial vehicles after the lp store is out.

I see the point you are striving at, but if it were true, the Minmatar HMG would not be available on the LP Store because there currently is no Minmater Heavy Suit to use it with. |

I think all of this is fantastic.
A few things I wanted to comment on.
The people saying Aurum is pointless, that is has no use, that it's p2w, or whatever: Just because YOU have no use for it, doesn't mean other people don't. Selling the same gear for LP is great idea, if you don't like it, don't buy it, the game isn't designed around your one specific play style.
I think a bit of isk should be added to the FW contracts as well though only until the market gets up and running. The point being that down the road you'll sell the higher end FW items to people who aren't interested in FW. This is exactly how it works in EVE, and it should be replicated here. Eventually I'd like to see all of these items purchasable in the EVE FW stores and vice versa. There's no reason that these should be unlinked/different stores or markets down the road.
The other bit I would caution is on balance, we've already seen prototype assault rifles that do stupid amounts of damage, and I fear a new faction duvolle would be the ultimate in ridiculous easy kill mode. |
