Meanwhile continue to play in a gimped MLT Heavy Suit that has 118 less base HP with Armor and Shield upgrades at 5, not to mention only 1 high/ 1 low slot, so you will barely be able to take advantage of those Damage Modifiers and Armor Plates and/or Reppers you spent so much SP to get to Complex.
You also wont be able to Run those boundless HMGs on your MLT heavy because the fitting cost is too high, and your Survivability in a MLT heavy suit would make this very ISK ineficient.
So yes, you should gimp yourself for an indetermined amount of time, or spec into other roles or weapons which do not really suit your general playstyle.
[/scarcasm]
EDIT: OR
Spec into the Amarr Heavy Basic Frame, and wait to set this MoFo off with the rest of us Heavies if we don't get at least a Dropsuit Deployment Respec when the other Racial Variants are released. |

The horizon can be as beautiful as it likes, when the terrain between here and there is a morass of garbage, it is not an appealing trip.
Besides, the "good stuff is around the corner" line was only good before Uprising, when there was at least an illusion of CCP having enough resources to pull this off.
We all know the game is going to rot in a special type of development dysfunction, don't bother trying to play it like you guys have some ace up your sleeve. Because if you had one we would have heard about it when you first wrote down the idea. Probably would have gotten a blog about it back then too.

Basically I took Gallente Logistics suits up to proto level and that is the ONLY thing I have at proto level. I then got all the light weapons to at least standard level, that took like all of a couple matches or a days passive SP. Then after playing with all the light weapons a bit I started picking out the ones I liked most and got those to advanced level.
I am currently working my way through getting all the light weapons to advanced, upgrading some core skills (hacking, armor, shield, and CPU/PG skills). Basically since I am terrible at the game and wont use Proto stuff outside of PC matches I just get as much stuff to advanced so I can play around with ALL of it and have fun with all of it.
I will say though I have Gallente Logistics maxed and the only other suit I have is Caldari medium suits to advanced. No other racial suits. But I am having a blast just flipping between weapons and fits as my mood suits me.
Just realized the other day exactly how much I love shotguns. Think I will get myself a decent scout suit and shotgun next.
Anyways, TLDR is dont try and go max on stuff. Go basic on everything, then go slightly better on the things you kind of enjoy, and only max out the things you really love. Other then that just get as much stuff to advanced to add variety. It also means being able to test all the things whenever they are balanced or tweaked.
Hometime for me now though as it's almost 1AM. :( There is no such thing as a decent scout suit. My Dragonfly Sniper/Nova Knife scout says otherwise. |

See..I guess everyone is different...and this is actually a response to this post as well as the OP.
I have two proto racial dropsuits. I was going to get a third but it isn't necessary at this moment. I have concentrated all of my skill points into maxing out my specialty. I think when guys go for too much variety, it will hurt their chances at winning fights vs those who have specialized. It's sort of like the saying, "Good at some, great at nothing" (btw, I don't know if I made that up or heard it from somewhere :D but point still remains).
If you'ver never played an fps before, OP, then I guess it's hard to know what your personal playstyle is...if you're new. That kind of thing is developed over time and may change depending on the game. Dust is great because the different dropsuits allows you to choose and customize your dropsuit according to your particular playstyle. If you're an aggressive, in your face, sort of shooter like me, then you would choose a suit with specific modules designed to match your style. Someone who is more of a defensive and away from the fight, sort of player would have a different set up.
You should figure out your playstyle and make that fit the best it can possibly be.
**of note though..because of all of the cheesy weapons and towers and other gay ways to die in Dust, you may have to adapt to survive. That may mean that you may have to change your playstyle to keep up with the status quo** |

My main issue is constantly getting killed and not wanting to invest SP in another races suit. That being Amarr.
Because of the NO FUTURE RESPECS, which I completely understand, I don't feel like investing 5million SP into the amarr heavy suit that I don't even like.
at around 23m sp, your pretty much done with everything regarding 1 suit, so from then on you are going to be free to spend in any other suit you feel like it.
So just spend now and take something you want later when its implemented, because only unspend SP is really stupid. |

More like an echo chamber server.
Eg, how often do you follow a target around a corner and get killed by a RE they dropped?
Employees tend to use all game items in roughly the conventional method they were instructed to test by their boss.
Run a stats test on how differently items are used in the test server Vs the live servers, if you don't believe me. They wont match. |

I really can't, all I can do is quote CCP Praetorian and reiterate that we are still committed to the grand vision of Dust, p2p trading, more influence on the EVE universe and meaningful endgame for mercs. Both in the short, mid and long term. We try to let those principles guide us in what we do.
http://www.psu.com/a021278/?utm_source=twitterfeed
Obviously, 1.5 and 1.6 expansions are lighter than we planned for, but much of that work has shifted into 1.7, so if all goes well, 1.7 will be beefy. The stuff that was in 1.5 and the enhancements in 1.6 are still solid and should be well received.
New content wise, the new outposts are good and we all know that not having racial suits is not optimal, I am myself waiting for Gallente heavy, saving up SP in the meantime (not going well, I keep spending it on core skills)
All that said and done, I play the game every day and we are aware of most things mentioned here on the forums, matchmaking, performance, balance and we try to prioritize as well as we can against new features.

You should play other games from time to time to get some inspiration ;). 1.5 lighter? Friends quit playing this game (I feel lonely without them) because of the still missing stuff. Solid will not bring them back. The most are waiting for coop PVE, some are hoping for new game mods as well as suits and weapons.
Btw. how is the new EP?
EDIT:
Quote:PSU: Are the rapid-fire updates here to stay or do you intend to shift back to the 3-4 updates a year model later on?
Atli: The monthly updates will be with us for the foreseeable future, but we have already retasked a couple of teams onto the next expansion. We are hoping to be able to reveal more details on what they are working on at EVE Vegas, later in October.
