But I REALLY don't want to. I love this game so much. I love my heavy, I love the HMG. I love Minmatar and I love EvE.
My main issue is constantly getting killed and not wanting to invest SP in another races suit. That being Amarr.
We already know that the Minmatar Heavy suit is "Coming" but with no ETA or any information given (I understand there is no way to do a solid date and stuff but an ESTIMATED time for arrival would be nice and screw the whiners that complain about something being late.
Because of the NO FUTURE RESPECS, which I completely understand, I don't feel like investing 5million SP into the amarr heavy suit that I don't even like.
In battle, I am stuck using the militia suit due to being afraid of wasting SP. This game has been out for some time now and we still don't have our basic dropsuits for each race.
I know development takes time but it has been a long time and all the patches that have been coming out so far have been very minor changes that should have been in the game in the first place.
Okay, my rant is over.
I probably will not quit, but I had to vent my frustration somewhere since all my RL friends quit this game due to it being very incomplete.
Any suggestions on what to do would be helpful, my current plan is to just keep stacking SP so if the suits ever do get released, I can get the Minmatar heavy straight away. It is very frustrating losing to these prototypes in my militia by just a scratch and knowing that if I had equal gear, the fight would not have been close.

Your "rant" was very logical, non-emotional, and well thought out. I object only to your use of the word rant, and will give you a +1 since you provided constructive feedback on the game in the "rant that is not really a rant" OP.

It is pretty simple. Calculate exactly how much SP you need to immediately skill the Mini heavy suit when it comes out and spend the rest. Duh. |

So I guess I maybe play with a bit of a different mind set.
Basically I took Gallente Logistics suits up to proto level and that is the ONLY thing I have at proto level. I then got all the light weapons to at least standard level, that took like all of a couple matches or a days passive SP. Then after playing with all the light weapons a bit I started picking out the ones I liked most and got those to advanced level.
I am currently working my way through getting all the light weapons to advanced, upgrading some core skills (hacking, armor, shield, and CPU/PG skills). Basically since I am terrible at the game and wont use Proto stuff outside of PC matches I just get as much stuff to advanced so I can play around with ALL of it and have fun with all of it.
I will say though I have Gallente Logistics maxed and the only other suit I have is Caldari medium suits to advanced. No other racial suits. But I am having a blast just flipping between weapons and fits as my mood suits me.
Just realized the other day exactly how much I love shotguns. Think I will get myself a decent scout suit and shotgun next.
Anyways, TLDR is dont try and go max on stuff. Go basic on everything, then go slightly better on the things you kind of enjoy, and only max out the things you really love. Other then that just get as much stuff to advanced to add variety. It also means being able to test all the things whenever they are balanced or tweaked.
Hometime for me now though as it's almost 1AM. :( Game Designer // Team True Grit http://twitter.com/regnerba |

Honored to get a dev post here. Thank you, and I will probably try that sort of style. Maybe even make a few alt accounts as I much prefer to specialize. I'm autistic, things have to be in a pattern kind of thing.

Not really. We spend all day every day making the game so when we go home we often want to play other games. While at work we are playing on internal test servers, so none of that gives us SP or ISK on our player characters. As developers it is also really good that we do go play other games. On top of all that I do log CCP FoxFour. on every now and then and again the SP he gets doesn't apply to my player character.
It's all pretty normal in the games industry for players to play the game a LOT more than devs do at home. Game Designer // Team True Grit http://twitter.com/regnerba |
