So I guess I maybe play with a bit of a different mind set.
Basically I took Gallente Logistics suits up to proto level and that is the ONLY thing I have at proto level. I then got all the light weapons to at least standard level, that took like all of a couple matches or a days passive SP. Then after playing with all the light weapons a bit I started picking out the ones I liked most and got those to advanced level.
I am currently working my way through getting all the light weapons to advanced, upgrading some core skills (hacking, armor, shield, and CPU/PG skills). Basically since I am terrible at the game and wont use Proto stuff outside of PC matches I just get as much stuff to advanced so I can play around with ALL of it and have fun with all of it.
I will say though I have Gallente Logistics maxed and the only other suit I have is Caldari medium suits to advanced. No other racial suits. But I am having a blast just flipping between weapons and fits as my mood suits me.
Just realized the other day exactly how much I love shotguns. Think I will get myself a decent scout suit and shotgun next.
Anyways, TLDR is dont try and go max on stuff. Go basic on everything, then go slightly better on the things you kind of enjoy, and only max out the things you really love. Other then that just get as much stuff to advanced to add variety. It also means being able to test all the things whenever they are balanced or tweaked.
Hometime for me now though as it's almost 1AM. :( Game Designer // Team True Grit http://twitter.com/regnerba |

Not really. We spend all day every day making the game so when we go home we often want to play other games. While at work we are playing on internal test servers, so none of that gives us SP or ISK on our player characters. As developers it is also really good that we do go play other games. On top of all that I do log CCP FoxFour. on every now and then and again the SP he gets doesn't apply to my player character.
It's all pretty normal in the games industry for players to play the game a LOT more than devs do at home. Game Designer // Team True Grit http://twitter.com/regnerba |
