Does anyone use the HMG anymore/ I mean seriously?
the very few heavies I see are either dren or milita. And they almost all wield a light weapon or forge guns.
1 out of every 20 matches I run into someone using a proto HMG and ADV or proto heavy suit. but there are so few I almost know them all by name.
What happened to all the heavies with HMGs? |

I see a lot of them and they still have pretty good range.
Anyone who complains that their HMG can't kill people outside of CQC is just bad at using an HMG.
They have a pretty large effective range. |

since june of 2012 the smg has been more viable than the hmg every build has made that worse. the only time the hmg was great was during mordu's trials. |

You can also see me running HMG I got that thing almost maxed out, I love it so, MY BEAUTIFUL SASHA!
Also the HMG does have a tremendous range for what it is to tell you the truth. |

Yup, Sentinel with an HMG here, pure armor and shields, only use it when I'm running with a corp buddy who is a real LogiBro, his proto repper and hives sure do wonders to keep me alive ^^
Otherwise though... Yeah, I just run normal heavies with a Forge or simply don't play a heavy...
Oh Yeah... Also I have a fully tanked Sentinel with a Thale, much better then putting it on a fragile suit with damage mods like everyone else likes to... |

I still use it from time to time. The HMG used to be my weapon of choice, but now I mostly stick with the forge gun. |

What I hate seeing is a heavy with 1000 armour using an assault rifle.

I run almost exclusively HMG. The only time I pull out a Forge is tanks/dropships. Ok Ok, I've been known to share a few forge rounds with the odd infantry man. |

Some ppl go for AR, SR bec they cant use HMG. Nvm. Every one die at same time. With hmg or not ,drop his shield and core grenade. |

I was a die hard heavy from the very beginning but with its current state and the size of maps
I have no interest in standing in one small enclosed area and wait to have grenades thrown at me.
The current heavy/HMG is a flop is it powerful in the right situation yes.

I've been murdering them all with my smg, that's what's been happening :D lol seriously I can outgun anyone that isn't using a prototype hmg in a prototype suit, and even then I can take em out if I have the jump on em. It's really sad, heavies just need a buff in general, they should be tough enough to just not die unless at least 2 people are there shooting them, otherwise they're just targets because they're slow as ****. |

I love my HMG, useally run the MH 82, I love to watch little scouts run in fear when I start lighting up.
I do love the forge gun, anti tank and dropship is always fun, but as much as I hate it I do really enjoy forge sniping. its cheap so I don't do it very often but sometimes its just needed to get some tangos off a high area or crows nest.
but I run my HMG 90%... Melting faces at 2000rpm |

I finally got browbeat out of playing a heavy too. I love my lasers so I'm not complaining too much.
It's just pretty crappy that there has never been a new heavy weapon. ever. since well into closed beta. The lack of new/interesting content forced me to use the re-specs to switch classes entirely. |

I understand this is a arcadey shooter, but seriously who would bring a weapon that weighs more than a big pig upon a battlefield that is outranged by an ordinary assault rifle?

I pretty much stopped using my heavy suit and HMG all around. Unless, of course their is an indoors map with a supply depot.
normally I only run HMG when facing enemies using milita suits. Seriously, anything above milita and I just use my scramblers and AR (i alternate between them).
In a standard caldari suit with a dren or scrambler I can kill proto suits easily. (not that easy but 1v1 i can kill proto suits with my standard)
In a standard heavy suit I can't take on anthing above STD. and even then i am so critically damaged its not really a victory. i mean if the lion kills the gazel but loses an eye and a leg... its not really a victory. |
