I called for a strike over a month ago to voice our discontent of the current heavy use. Very few would sign that petition, now that I see less of the heavy brothers I wonder if they would change there minds and sign.
Boycott the heavy and refuse to use it or any heavy weapon until CCP fixes its role. Heavies are fine. I don't base my heavy experiences off of pubs like everyone else is doing. Pubs are not a reliable place to see if a suit is working or not when it's suppose to be situational to begin with. A suits as good as a team can put it to effect - and in PC heavies are put to great effect. I am still trying to understand where this whole 'situational thing" comes from. Each suit is supposed to have advantages and disadvantages. however, how one uses said advantages is up to them. Not to adress your eariler point. Why is every suit "situation" except assault suits? since, heavies are supposed to be defense only. then shouldnt assaults be offense only? It's messed up - I know. But in what situation do you see a heavy thriving in long distance combat even with a long distance weapon? Our hitbox is too big and we're too slow.. We'll likely just get gunned down trying to put our sights down on 'em. It makes us situational. Just like scouts shouldn't be charging head first. Is CCP doing what's right for each class to play there roles effectively? Nope. But it is what it is and it's likely to get worse and more situational for the heavy, and I mean every type of heavy. There won't ever be a heavy to rival the assault suit in versatilely. And that's the role the assault player plays - versatile. At least in my opinion, but the logi seems more capable of being anything it wants.
I'm starting to think it just the combination of the two that's the problem The heavy suit has too many limiting factors for a weapon that is only good in certain situations, which is mainly close quarters. The reason the shotgun is so good is cause you can put it on a light suit and close the distance and determine your situation.
The heavy suit is supposed to allow you tank your way into an ideal situation which it fails to do in any way. Even out running a grenade is not always an option especially in tight quarters. So using the Hmg with the heavy suit is just a bad combo under the current build.
We cant run away from a fight for the most part (without an LAV) Any type of open area is certain death without the ability to close the gap. The fact that dispersion does little more than tickle someone who is landing head shots on us is a but ridiculous. "Aim assist and long range weapons." We can both agree that the range we had in Chromosone may have been to much however with the range that assault rifles have combined with the aim assist and less lag the Hmg or suit needs something to make it less of "situational suit that we are not able dictate"
In my opinion the HMG/ Heavy Suit is the problem fix one or the other and there may be a chance. But with the limiting factors that are imposed on the heavy suit right now just makes it no fun to play, when you can do twice as good with an AR carry other fun stuff in your equipment slot and actually play the objectives and choos your situation instead of waitng for the situation to come to you, which usually just ends in a grenade. |
