From IRC..
(07:00:27 AM) Bendtner92: Vehicle rework not in 1.5 anymore? ... (07:02:12 AM) [CCP]Logibro: Not in 1.5 ... (07:02:28 AM) [CCP]Logibro: Basically, we weren't happy with how it was when it came time to lock in 1.5 (07:02:40 AM) [CCP]Logibro: So we decided to put some more time into it before we release. (07:02:53 AM) [CCP]Logibro: Good news is there should be stat posts with what we've got so far next week. ... (07:03:03 AM) [CCP]Logibro: ANd you'll have plenty of time to give feedback on those. (07:03:07 AM) Bendtner92: So [CCP]Logibro, when is suit bonus overhaul coming? Scout and Heavy love? Assault vs Logi rebalancing? :) (07:03:18 AM) [CCP]Logibro: I don't have a time for that. (07:03:22 AM) [CCP]Logibro: But it's on the cards. ... (07:40:07 AM) Musta_Tornius: hey CaptainAwesome did you hear, 1.5 got mostly cancelled :P GǪ (07:41:19 AM) [CCP]Logibro: Not cancelled. ... (07:41:49 AM) CaptainAwesome: if it's merged into another build - that's cancelled ... (07:42:30 AM) [CCP]Logibro: And like I said, hoping to actually have vehicle stats posted to the forums next week for your feedback guys. ... (07:42:37 AM) [CCP]Logibro: And hopefully also the new weapon stats. ... (07:42:51 AM) [CCP]Logibro: NPE, more WP rewards, Squad finder, Corp roles. (07:42:54 AM) [CCP]Logibro: All in 1.5 ... (07:43:17 AM) Grit_Breather: [CCP]Logibro, NPE meaning another small change to academy WP limit? (07:43:19 AM) Musta_Tornius: when you say npe, do you in fact mean you tweaked the wp limit again? :D (07:43:24 AM) [CCP]Logibro: No Grit. ... (07:45:22 AM) [CCP]Logibro: I can confirm the melee glith is fixed in 1.5 (07:45:26 AM) [CCP]Logibro: *glitch ... (07:46:18 AM) [CCP]Logibro: AFAIK, the current issue with shotguns is client side. I'll have to dobule check, but that's what I heard last. ... (07:46:41 AM) Grit_Breather: [CCP]Logibro, it's client side as for the visuals... But I think people are still claiming less damage done ... (07:46:50 AM) [CCP]Logibro: Like I said, I need to double check. ... (07:47:59 AM) [CCP]Logibro: Looks like it's fixed client side in 1.5 GǪ (07:48:21 AM) [CCP]Logibro: So right now you're actually shooting the right spot but the VFX is going in the wrong direction client side. (07:48:24 AM) [CCP]Logibro: Should be fixed 1.5 |

CCP / Devs,
Can we have something concrete about vehicle rebalancing please? A lot of us would like to know what direction you're taking on the matter. We've been asking for some work on dropships since closed beta but they still don't seem to have changed in terms of survivability or usefulness since then. Tanks have received some good work I think. I don't use LAVs anymore because of the ISK cost but the specialisation are an improvement IMO.
I think a lot of people were pretty excited about the prospect of finally seeing some rebalancing work so even if you're not releasing these changes yet can we have some feedback on what issues you faced that prompted the decision to push back the time-frames? This is a unique game in the level of interaction between player and devs and I think most of us would like to to have a bit more of that for this particular topic please. |

The community united likely would approve of just pushing back 1.5 release date to get the one thing that we wanted to see in 1.5... but I'm on your side CCP. Drive on... drive on... |

Many are still digesting the changes and people are asking for 1.5! I guess they are the types that want to know what they are getting for next xmas the day after santa has been! Because it's rebalancing vehicles and AV. They're not just changing a few values as they relate to vehicles. They're going to be adding, removing, and changing both skills and modules. We also don't know if we're going to get more hulls. Every single pilot also wants the vehicle powergrid skill back, and we don't yet know if CCP will give it back to us. Turrets are also incredibly expensive. The most expensive large PRO turrets cost near 1mil ISK each. I don't have a clue how they're balancing AV, but some stuff needs damage roll backs. Why does an AV grenade do around 2000 damage each to armor, yet infantry complained about the contact grenades and they got nerfed into the ground. Double standards are ridiculously abundant on here. Actually your getting nothing, so me and my swarm launcher will see you on the battlefield yeah! Nice crutch launcher you got there. Do you aim it, or does the game take care of that for you? I let the game do it, why wouldn't I, its not like I should have to put in any more effort than you right? Because my railgun, blaster and missile turrets have homing ability. |

Also confirmed on IRC by CCP Logibro was that the new weapons pushed back to 1.6 were the Combat and Rail rifles.
So they'll be in 1.6 with possibly other weapons as well (no confirmation). |

Because in WWII we didn't have teleporting uplinks, dropships that hover on 2 engines, anti-matter weaponry, or F#@&$% SPACESHIPS!!
Rifle can feel like a rifle without the range of one, not to mention plasma thats highly unstable, lasers that we can't even get yet, and railguns that shoot rounds so god damn fast, it would blowyour face of just whizzing past!!
Its game real world physics don't apply!![/quote] How could it feel like a rifle without range? Serious shooters today squeeze crazy range out of .22s, varmint rifles, and incredible shot groups out of the 5.56 NATO round (standard M4 round). What good is a rifle without range? Best use for that is beating or bludgeoning someone to death. |

No it doesn't. It may mean they've already decided on a new direction or they're still happy with the original designs but have experienced problems implementing them and want to make sure they get them right. They might have hit a wall and decided to drop certain things completely. But kudos to you for nearly understanding English. |

Agreed. If this is the best way to make sure the rebalancing is done properly then fantastic but it'd make everyone feel better to be told officially as early as possible.
P.s. what is IRC? Am I showing my age by not knowing? Is it anything like ICQ (is that even around any more?). I think I got old before my time! :( |

We'd love to provide you with patch notes weeks in advance, but as mentioned elsewhere in this thread quite often features aren't finalized until closer to the release date.

Full patch notes/Feedback Threads to come next week, will keep you in the loop as soon as we get any more info. :)
Just wanted to stop by and thank the players in advance for handling this respectfully and for recognizing that this was made to ensure that these particular features arrive in good shape.
I know plenty are licking their lips and sharpening their knives and declaring "****storm time!!" but the reality is that there's nothing to be gained here by being indignant about a roadbump in development and acting outraged that a tentative deadline was missed.
Personally, I see this as a huge opportunity to take the next month and give constructive criticism on the stats of the vehicle changes and weapons to be added, which we'll have much more advanced notice of than usual. This is a crossroads - we can spend the next several weeks bitching and moaning at the devs doing the hard work, and give them less of a reason to share information with us, or we can help them deliver a quality 1.6 release and establish a pattern of trust so that they continue to share their plans as early as possible. |

Now its open to interpretation, but the pod, they are launched from I don't believe is air tight, so in order to survive the dropsuits probably has some rebreather gear, that recycles youf last breath for oxygen. The suits aren't designed for EVA but they can sustain short periods in zero/low atmosphere! |

Of course not, its crappy news. My point is that we have two ways of handling this - one that encourages CCP to continue to be open with information about what they're working on, and one that will make them want to share less. I'm hoping people think about this carefully and choose the former, not the latter.

Assuming CCP shares the weapon stats and vehicle balance changes with us and gives us the next month to provide quality feedback than yes. If they wait another few weeks before sharing that info, it'll be a hugely wasted opportunity. We're certainly working on our end to encourage them to release this info ASAP. |
